  1. Chill out folks - the lad did alright last season in the third division in a side that finished 7th - he scored two goals I think which was helpful but looked uncomfortable at left wing back - he has a lot to learn yet. He would have been useful to have back but this is what happens when you have loan players - there not ours and his basic wage was high at Brighton so Bristol city can afford to increase their £500,000 a week losses where as we are being fairly responsible

If £1.5-£2m would be the compensation we could receive then we’re in a really strong position here.

We can tell any club interested that they need to pay that plus a small premium to secure him now, otherwise we’re happy to run down his contract and they can wait a year by which point there could be a better offer on the table for Knight.

I’d personally love to keep him. I think many forget that he’s still only 22. He’s got 5 years or more before he could be at his best. He’s very consistent and you always know what you’re going to get from him.

Hopefully we are back in the championship next season - where we will need him !

Malcolm Christie did ok for a non league striker. Even Kelle Roos has made himself a good career. You could argue we've had more success buying from non league and from Ireland than we have from picking up released players from clubs higher up the pyramid.

Hell, I remember seeing Bryson playing for Clyde and thinking "there's a bargain there". If even I can spot a player up there (and my record of writing off players instantly is abysmal), then sending an analyst or scout up is surely worth the gamble. What's the downside?

Let’s remember Bryson came for a trial here and we didn’t sign him ! Only for Clough to bring him in later on

I've just had a look on the Wyscout database for players who have played in CM/AM in League One this season and looked at a few parameters

    Successful defensive actions per 90 minutes - 7.44 - 107 out of 255.
    Defensive duels won - 64.41% - 60 out of 255
    Successful attacking actions per 90 minutes - 2.91 - 56 out of 255.
    Attacking duels won - 47.86 - 49 out of 255.
    Forward passes per 90 - 13.12 - 54 out of 255.
    Accurate Forward passes - 62.55 - 103 out of 255.
    Shot Assists per 90 - 0.77 - 100 out of 255.
    Smart passes per 90 - 0.33 - 112 out of 255.
    Passes into the final third - 7.05 - 45 out of 255.
    Progressive passes per 90 - 6.59 - 61 out of 255.
    Accurate progressive passes per 90 - 71.25 - 111 out of 255.

It shows a fairly steady, balanced League One midfielder without context. With context, it shows an international player who struggled to really have an impact in the third tier of English football.

When you compare it to his season in the Championship, it actually shows that he was able to take advantage of the drop in quality to have more of an impact but definitely not remotely close to what he should've done.

    Successful defensive actions per 90 minutes - 6.36 - 140 out of 236
    Defensive duels won - 55.08% - 160 out of 236
    Successful attacking actions per 90 minutes - 3.18 - 52 out of 236
    Attacking duels won - 52.02 - 18 out of 236
    Forward passes per 90 - 7.33 - 163 out of 236
    Accurate Forward passes - 64.05 - 135 out of 236
    Shot Assists per 90 - 0.58 - 121 out of 236
    Smart passes per 90 - 0.45 - 124 out of 236
    Passes into the final third - 3.42 - 155 out of 236
    Progressive passes per 90 - 3.55 - 167 out of 236
    Accurate progressive passes per 90 - 71.25 - 122 out of 236

Perspective might show the steady deterioration in our playing staff. All around him ?

Matter of perspective that. His potential leaving weakens the playing staff in an immediate sense….if we re-invest any funds generated wisely in the playing staff it could well strengthen the team, leading to promotion which would in turn strengthen the club…. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Or our owner uses to money to pay any outstanding debts or reclaim some of his outgoings - we just don’t know

Not by a distance, we sold Ince to newly promoted Huddersfield for £10m, after buying him for £4.75m two years prior.

In terms of profit made and premiership minutes played he would be by far our best sale to the premiership?

£9m, but I dont know if that's only upfront or all inclusive

I think it was £10.5 million plus sell ons which we never got as he went on a free to Newcastle - that said our best premiership sale by a distance

Can't see a massive fee but then again Jeff Hendrick went for near on 12 million didn't he.

The market is daft for young international players no matter how good they are, hope we milk the fee.

Hendrick was our best sellable asset - again good engine with huge championship and international experience and has gone on to have a decent premiership career - no difference from Knight in my opinion with knight being more adaptable in where he could slot in.

    Bidding war for Jason Knight

don’t know exact clubs yet but a mix of champ and prem clubs. @B4ev6ismight get his wish for 15 million

So there should be as well - experienced championship and international player who can play in many positions and definitely our most sellable asset and has been injury free - us being a third division club is irrelevant and we should be getting big money for him and obviously I would want him to stay but Clowes didn’t buy Derby county because he wanted a football club so we have to be self financing for Warne to get us promoted.

The problem with Birmingham being the only club in for him is that they haven't got a pot to piss in. Could do with someone else coming in for him to bump the price up.

Leeds Leicester and Southampton need well and truly contacting by his agent - Birmingham simply won’t pay much at all with our only benefit being him removed from the wage bill.

  11. What I do know is that some of his strike were of high quality last season and I don’t give out compliments that easily - if he can score inside the six yard area then that would help - definitely not a hold up, flick it on type of forward. How we would fit him in would be interesting - yes we should be interested and yes getting out of league one and into the championship is what we are trying to achieve
