Yeah I'd be all over this. Just turned 31. Would easily be capable of 15-20 goals in league one.

Has form for being out with a long term knee injury as well - would take a known risk?

Bennet will about three goals for Burton, and I bet at least two of them are against us.

Well it looks a great signing for Burtonand I think he will do very well in this league

I must be a maverick. Out on my own, standing above everyone else, not afraid to go against the grain, but I would take Cosgrove in a heart beat.

He totally destroyed us at pp off the bench, scored vital winning goals for Plymouth both home and away.

Sure he isn't exactly salah, but at this level his height, bravery and physical attributes make him a decent player.

One of them was offside and a tap in and the other a poor piece of defending then the keeper should have saved the shot and rumoured to be on £18,000 a week at Birmingham - I hope we aren’t very interested to be honest

Would any of the following players, have significantly improved our clubs attacking line ...

    Josh Gordon (Barrow) to Burton,

    Cole Stockton (Morecambe) to Burton,

    Danny Mayor (Plymouth) to Fleetwood,

    Reeco Hackett-Fairchild (Portsmouth) to Lincoln,

    Christian Saydee (Bournemouth) to Portsmouth,

    Conor Shaughnessy (Burton) to Portsmouth,

    Anthony Scully (Wigan) to Portsmouth,

Dan Agyei (Crewe) to Leyton Orient,

Ethan Galbraith (Man United) to Leyton Orient,

Max Sanders (Lincoln) to Leyton Orient,

    Alistair Smith (Sutton) to Lincoln.

    Whytte to Portsmouth

I have heard the names of a couple of them but maybe scooby doo will know if they will be good signings

£5M for C-H is OTT considering he's into the last year of his contract. When you look at us being allowed to pay "moderate" fees, I think moderate for L1 is somewhere around half a million maximum. The lad may well go for £3M but that is way more than a "moderate" fee. Out of our price range.

Let’s see what they get shall we - maybe they will maybe they won’t but historically they have done very well with transfer fees but the financial world in EFL football is different and he’s not going to the premiership. We will probably see him still playing at Peterborough this coming season if they can’t get near what they want for him.

I wonder if this is true ...

"The report claims that Birmingham will pay less than £1 million in initial fees in the deals with Derby and Leeds, which is particularly helpful given the Championship club is operating on a tight budget this summer.

If Eustace is able to help both players fulfill their potential, this double-swoop could end up looking like a masterstroke - particularly given the pair cost their last club more than £10 million in combined transfer fees (Bielik £8m and Roberts £2.5m)."

Ive used flw here, because i didnt find another article where the fee was mentioned.

Sor for Bielik and Roberts a combined fee of £1 million. Bielik's fee could rise to 1 million over time, however Birmingham got a heck of a bargain.

This doesn't inspire me with confidence over the transfer negotiation ability of our club.

I guess the one plus is the reduction from our wage bill, but that was largely covered last season by his loan to Birmingham and probably would have been again had we decided to loan him to another club. We would not have received a fee in a years time for him, but it kind of feels like we have not received a fee for him any way. If to give value to it, i estimated we sold Bielik a player who initially cost us 8 million, to Birmingham for 500k.

While i admit Bielik probably is not worth a lot, i think hes worth more than 500k to 1 million, assuming the club eventually gets the 1 million.

There are very few EFL clubs out there paying out transfer fees - it’s a financial reality whilst wages cripple a lot of clubs - it’s why we took Warne on to make a side out of little and get promoted. We are a million miles away from premiership crazy money.

  7. Good luck to him - it is a milestone round our new financial neck removed on paper at least ( no idea what we actually owe Arsenal still)

I still will never know why we signed him and risked so much money at a time when we knew how strapped for money we were and how it would impact our FFP over his contract.

He had some good games but nowhere near enough to justify the cost to us overall whilst we were in the EFL

  8. Not his fault what we paid in transfer fee

Not his fault what we paid him in wages

Not his fault how long his contract was

Not his fault that he had two serious injuries with us

I still think this was one of the most stupid transfers we made in recent history based on exactly where we were in relation to our finances and the club knew it, as a player un injured he may well have done very well for us but we simply didn’t need him or that level of expense when we had plenty of other areas where the team needed reinforcements.

Good luck to him and I hope he stays injury free because now Birmingham city is his level

I said 10m get it right

I agree with you B4 I think knight will be worth £10 million but right now in the third division of English football we won’t be receiving those kind of offers - I do hope he wants to stay and signs an extended contract with us as we get promoted and he shows his abilities again in the championship for us. At that point we may see bids that are much better if we wanted to sell.

Think Washington will come in, sounds close to being done. Warne wanted 5 in before Pre-season which I've read starts on Thursday. The most interesting thing at the moment is weather Max Bird stays or not. Hull and Coventry want him apparently.

Hull probably have some money to spend whilst Coventry will be receiving a hefty sum when they sell their centre forward - would Bird want to go to either of these or would we tell him he’s being sold if they come up with the dosh.

£2.5m is the most we can expect for Knight in the current conditions. Its a fair chunk of money to use at this level. There is an argument that we could keep Knight and get promotion to get him to sign a new contract. But the player has to want to do it. I think he will want to go. If he does...id take £2m tbh and move on.

Absolutely no guarantee that our owner would be wanting to spend any incoming transfer fees on other transfers as we will no doubt have ongoing running costs to finance.

    Apparently a £300k asking price: https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/four-english-clubs-battle-out-26771396

Larne won the title for the first time in their history, so if he stays he has a Champions League qualifier to lok forward to! Watching the vid, I like that he gets in the box and scores all those goals from close. A striker's instinct. But obviously the standard is much lower. Interesting to see if we do take a punt.

He could probably play in that champions league round Or two before the end of our transfer window
