Maybe so. I wasn't suggesting that the EFL are running a slick operation. Actually my point was more to do with the dire situation that DCFC is now in, and that that the clubs owners confrontational approach toward the EFL is a contributory factor. As things stand, it doesn't look like Mr Morris has chosen his battles too well. Just my opinion of course.

Fair enough on your opinion, my opinion is that Mel Morris spent £200 million of his own money supporting various managers wants and unfortunately most of that has been spent on average players with little sell on reality which results in our situation. All of that is a big shame which has been sprinkled with some bad luck at just the wrong moments but we are where we are.

Didn't Waggers score 13 or so the year before though?

And Sibley and Knight were scoring previously but went into a draught too.

This is what worried me about Wayne,he struggled to get goals out the squad we had which contributed to our lack of wins.

Anyway, let's see if he can sort it out this year,it shouldn't take long to see an improvement.

Yep but like you said that was the year before, we did have far too long with basically no forward available for selection last season which leads towards playing more defensive minded players and team selections

The season doesn't start for another 5 weeks. When Lampard joined we didn't make any key signings until the latter parts of July.

And hindsight says we shouldn’t have done that lot either ?actual permanent signings that is

A very relevant and key point that you make. Mr Morris adopted a confrontational attitude toward the EFL. An ill advised approach which has put DCFC in a precarious situation.

Actually I don’t agree - when an organisation appears to be failing its members somebody has to take a stand and tell them and the members that they should be doing a much better job and if they choose to ignore the members don’t be surprised when you start to lose your membership.

Suspect Forest will be one of the clubs as I checked their accounts for season ending 2020 and they include a value of £5,961,000 for amortisation of intangible assets but it doesn’t stack up:

    Carvalho £13.5m 5yr = £2.61m

    Grabban £6m 4yr = £1.5m

    Figuereido £2m 4yr = £0.5m

    Jenkinson £2m 3yr = £0.66m

    Samba £2m 4yr = £0.5m

    Da Costa £1.8m 3.5yr = £0.51m

    Sow £0.6m 2yr = £0.3m

    Bong £0.45m 2.5yr = £0.18m

Total = £6.76m without including any signing on fees for players signed on a free (Ameobi & Adomah to name a couple). Anyone got an email address for Steve Gibson?

Yes but when the loan fee from that Greek side for one player is £13 million it all works out and is jolly fine

It'll be better when the top teams in the championship form the premier league 2.

Sky probably need it because they no longer have exclusive prem rights and the teams in our division need it because the EFL arnt fit and proper. It would be the lesser of two evils

Well most of the football domestically on sky is the championship or am I missing something

You would think this will be the first of 2 or 3 United loanees.

This exactly or from other premiership clubs because I would suggest the other EFL clubs will not want to play ball with us in the transfer market due to the constant negative narrative spilled out from the EFL

  8. Just seen the news and whilst I have had a few sherbets I consider the EFL decision to be the only sensible one available I also consider their statement to be utterly disgraceful and I would like to remind them that one of their members Derby county deserve their care and protection which they are not interested in giving which highlights their complete and utter shambolic dereliction of duty

Is that even legal (the EFL penalising clubs who are acting lawfully)?

We haven’t done anything unlawful which is a large part of why we are so miffed

Anyone to have played in at least 30% of the minutes in the English, Spanish, German, Italian or French top divisions last season automatically qualifies.

Anyone to have played in at least 40% of the minutes in the Championship, Portuguese, Dutch, Belgian and Turkish leagues automatically qualify.

Anyone to have played in at least 80% of the minutes in the Russian, Brazillian, Argentinian, Mexican or Scottish top divisions automatically qualify.

15 points are required to qualify, with additional points earned for:

    • international appearances
    • continental appearances
    • continental progression
    • league finishing position

    Good info !

But why not put them in now? If we are in within P&S, put them in, show we comply and get the transfer embargo lifted.

I suspect there is a lot of work involved - time to be patient

First time I've had a proper look at the out of contract players knocking about, that we could sign within Brexit Britain. It's not a great list.

I've never been a fan, but honestly I'm looking at Berardi as someone who can play across the back four and thinking it's genuinely just about getting the bodies in. Fuchs, perhaps he fancies staying local? I'd even give Pablo Hernandez a call to see if he fancies another crack at the Championship.

The likes of Reach, Diedhiou, Assombalonga, etc are going to be highly sought after as out of contract players make perfect commercial sense in the current climate. I think they will be pushed above what we're ultimately allowed to offer.

Not many on that list that wouldn’t need FA permission to register in the UK now

I have heard ( no fact on this at all) that Andy Carol is joining us for pre season??

anyone no anymore ie photo evidence lol

    maybe similar to CKR situation

Can he play centre back ?

    3 minutes ago, Jubbs said:

    We only started pre-season today.

There'll be no photos even if he was training, as they'll keep it hush hush if it's true. We didn't leak any photos of CKR for the few weeks he was training with us before he signed.

Photos of CKR weren’t leaked because no one cared or thought it was a reasonable thing to be looking at I suspect

  14. It terms of our accounts - wouldn’t they have changed despite of our re doing of them in line with what is now being said to be done with reference to all the extensions we gave out to several players like Johnson Butterfield Forsyth etc. I mean that our original submissions could only improve over both types of accounts or have I got that wrong?

remember when Leeds were fined £200k for spying, puts our fine in context doesn't it

They didn’t pay it though - their manager did ! And an argument could have been made that they dishonourably gained 6 points from us ( they didn’t need to spy on the pitch) so should have been docked those points whilst spying on all the other clubs as well causing league chaos yet again.

    I don't think they are.

The buck for that passes to us as the guilty party, part of that judgement is that we pay the legal costs of the whole thing, or at least that's what I seem to remember.

Can’t see that in terms of an appeal as it makes no sense and discriminates against one side hugely

They have backed themselves in to a corner at this point with their dual fixture list stunt. They do not care if they ruin our summer keeping us embargoed and tied up in appeals and clubs like Wycombe and Boro will have a piss fit if they don't. As we have already seen the EFL bend like a palm tree in a hurricane when clubs like Boro kick off, which is exactly what will happen if they don't appeal.

    They will 100% appeal.

We will see but I don’t think they will, they are spending members money on all this process and have to justify it as well as passing on the legal bill to all clubs, in all reality they would be appealing a technical error/ misunderstanding on whoever’s part. So that in all reality means they should appeal for every single error technical or not in the future for the whole of the EFL. They are hoping to see us breech the restated 3 years whilst they should actually be hoping we don’t breech them as a governing body unless they have completely lost their focus on who they are and what they should be doing?

We're in constant cycle of nonsense until the EFL put a stop to it. A takeover likely wont happen until the inevitable appeal from the EFL is concluded. Nobody with a fully functional head would buy a football club at this point not knowing which division it will be in. You'd have to have rocks for brains to buy us unless the EFL actually turn around and say "if you take over we will not appeal".

The EFL process could take weeks or months, a time in which we are in a state of paralysis. If the appeal doesn't go the EFL's way they will no doubt look to drag it out beyond even that somehow and on we go, round and round ad nauseam.

For a governing body that professes to look out for its member clubs they do an absolutely shocking job of looking out for its member clubs.

I really don’t think the EFL will appeal mainly because they think we will be toasted when those 3 years of revised submissions are put in.

It'll be sweet justice if/when we don't breach. We'll be making savings for the following seasons 2018/19 & 2019/20 by re-doing the figures so they'll have done us an inadvertent favour.

Possibly doing us a favour if we had money to spend!
