Overall, I'm feeling that it's a shame we didn't beat MK Dons 7-1 like we should have and we didn't have various donkeys masquerading as refs and linos against Shrewsbury, Port Vale, Plymouth, Ipswich and Lincoln.

Yep.  It's really been a season of not taking chances and giving away bad goals.  Add in all the decisions that have gone against us and playoffs should've been done and dusted a few games ago.

    1) Having a team to watch once more. The strange combination of the feelings of high expectations and trepidation of what we were actually going going to see as I climbed up to our seats in the South Stand, which are Row R, right behind the goalposts, which is a long way up for an old guy with tired legs!
    2) Getting to meet with a load of people I thought I would never see again!
    3) The final two minutes at Port Vale were probably the best, maddest, most beautiful, manic and bonkers moments of my life, with a block of about 20 people hugging each other en masse, bouncing around and moving a whole row forwards without falling over the chairs. WOW!!!
    4) The realisation that it simply doesn’t matter what league we are in, because WE ARE DERBY!!!!!

The weakness to that argument is that the first “soft penalty” involved virtually no contact whatsoever, and got an apology from the ref afterwards, and for the second one he had been fouled and then collided with the forward as he fell. The second one was more understandable, and definitely would not have been given if it was in the opposition's penalty area. Hardly disastrous or reckless play on White’s part.

i read earlier today that FIFA (?) have trialled a new offside rule in Italy (where many new ideas are tested), where the offside flag only gets raised if there is clear daylight between the attacker and the defender(s), so if the two players have parts of their bodies in line with each other it is not offside.
My only concern is that it was formulated by Arsene Wenger, who as Arsenal manager never, ever managed to see anything untoward, but the trial has resulted in more goals. Also it might mean less need for VAR, which has to be a good thing.

Like the majority have done with Sibley this season. He is still the first player to get subbed off every match, regardless of how he has played.

I’m not sure it’s all about heads dropping , there’s a big chunk of frustration and extra pressure heaped on when we go one down in a game we need to win , we perhaps over try a bit and our passing went right off the boil and passes to players who havnt read the pass and moved for it , the effort and fight was there we just lost our way a bit when they scored , all in all a decent performance over the ninety, we are just a bit short this season, no shame in that given where we were before the start of the season

It's the "dark arts" isn't it? No it's not. There is no art to it and it's not particular dark either. Just boring.
If you are under pressure and/or trying to break up play, lie motionless on the floor holding your head. Every couple of minutes.
Maybe when it happens, every one of our players could fall to the ground holding their heads. Subs too. Would highlight the point to see everyone lying on the floor at once. Ridicule the player for doing it.

So we hit the post, had one whistle across the gaol and a millimetre away from the post, a shocking miss from Mendez-Wang, and their keeper made a load of great saves. We were awesome in the first phase of the match, and at that stage, rather than say we couldn't take our chances (Lang apart) it was more good keeping and bad luck. The profligacy came later on in the match, and yes, going a goal down hit us hard, and we were still bleeding from the wound into the second half. Hardest to take was that it was their first effort on goal, and wasn't really on target. Have we actually had a gaol this season where we hit the post and the ball bounced in? IE just a bit of luck?
I have to admit when Collins came on I said "That's game over. We're screwed", and he ends up in the right place at the right time. So Gobby MacMee it is for me then, from now on. interestingly, Collins was where a striker should be and he scored. So no matter how important his off the ball work is, it is more important to do what a striker should do.
Of note today was Roberts who worked so hard down the right hand side, and his ball retention is quite remarkable, and kept quite a few attacks going. He is something of an un-noticed asset, an unsung hero. There's not much to say about the ref, but it doesn't stop me trying. I think it was Anggieram who said he was a couple of yellow cards away rom being in control. There was certainly two clear ones in the first half that he did miss, but his main failing was not clamping down on the time wasting which went on nearly all match long, or the diving, which started in the first minute, or the ridiculous "falling like flies". Their number 6 had four life-threatening head injuries in the second half, so I hope he got home alright! There were also a couple of bizarre dropped ball decisions, but overall he was reasonable. Not up to the standard of the female ref from a while ago, but not too bad.
So bring it on, Wednesday. We are waiting for you!

Probably going to sound like a miserable old git and broken record here but...today epitomised the state of todays game and why I feel so disconnected to it.
We had mid table opposition with literally nothing to play for and still they were time wasting and feigning injury!
Think the most embarrassing moment of the season was when their centre back was rolling on the floor pretending to be injured until he realised the referee was ignoring him so he got back up and just carried on as normal.
The game is in a real bad state.
