They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
I disagree, this picture is worth about One Million British Pounds.

He wasn’t actually all that bad in his first season, got 8 goals in 40 games. He also was the reason we got Sam Winnall on loan wasn’t he? Apart from that he was absolutely horrendous.

Another thing you have to give kudos to Southgate for is how he’s kept the squad players engaged.
How often do you see a fringe player like Watkins make such a jaw-dropping impact like that in the semi final of a major tournament? Southgate’s approach of “finishers” rather than “substitutes”, as cringey as it may appear on the surface, seems to have worked.

What a lovely story.
That should get the grandkids off to sleep safe and warm 😊

To be fair, there was quite a few Derbyshire MPs who did, not least Margaret Beckett, but those were the two that surprised me most, though at the time I was unaware that Bridgen was born in Swad. Daly's speech was truly from the heart as a Bury fan.

Worth noting that, while 28 isn't "young", he only made his breakthrough in the EFL at 23, after a season in the National League the year before. Very similar to Jamie Vardy.
He's closer to a typical 25/26 year old in terms of professional experience, especially if you account for his injury. I wouldn't be surprised if he's about to step up to his best level yet.

Kills me slightly that him and Andrew Brigden were the ones that really stood up for us.
Despite vast differences in political opinion, I'll always have respect for that speech by Daly. It was brilliant and truly genuine.

I'd bet my life on him starting Kane. Plus, Watkins being fresh and the Dutch defence being tired was probably the biggest factor in the winner. Watkins (or Toney depending on the game state) will be a great weapon from the bench if needed.

Because they're still substitutes and some would call it a needless word change. Or, in other words:

Over spending and spending more than what we’d initially hoped to make it happen aren’t the same thing to be fair.

I hope Shaw comes in for Trippier. Other than that, I don’t think I’d change much after that performance.
I’m also content to sit back and shut up after Southgate’s masterclass in the last game. I still think he got a lot wrong in the weeks prior, but he got it spot on yesterday. Happy to just lose myself in it all!

For what it’s worth, I think that Ebou will add £1m of value to those around him. I can’t stop thinking that this guy is a catalyst to how a Warne team works.
Could be our Willie Carlin.
