nogbad van 50 got a reaction from RoyMac5 in Matt Godden
I can remember watching Jimmy Greaves at the City Ground for Spurs just a few years ago! and heard a florist fan say exactly the same thing about him. That was about 2 minutes before Greaves scored the winner, which was all he did!
Don't care if he's 31,uninterested in any potential resale value but I think a forward easily capable of 20+ goals at this level could, with our new defence,be the catalyst for promotion which ,surely,is the overriding aim this season.

But 37-year-old Billy Sharp would apparently be great 🙄.

Why do you care about rescale value when we are getting them for free? Anyone with resale value younaheb to pay for. Godden, Washington and Collins have the ability to get us out the league.

Couldn't give 2 figs about what he's said about us.
Scoring 3 goals last season and being 37... I do mind.

Whilst we are in league 1 with minimal finances available, you need to get what’s available in the market. Peak age players who are of 15-20 goal standard aren’t going to be available and they definitely aren’t going to be available for cheap. For that reason signing 30-31 year olds on a 2 year deal is great business

Billy Sharp is way outside of our target age range isn't he?

I haven’t the faintest idea what you’re implying.
I’m just your average guy
…with a top hat and millions 😊

Ooh, interesting!
I love a new name.
Gives everyone the opportunity to
a) elevate him to celestial status
b) write him off as a terrible example of Warne’s incompetence

Who needs knight when you have Darren Robinson and Ben Radcliffe ey

Realistic numbers I’m afraid hasn’t pushed on , not an international either

hmmm I’d have thought it was a carefully scripted message aimed at getting a deal over the line. Telling the world the bids are insufficient but not far off seems a blatant effort to wring a little more out of one of the bidders; to allow him to reinvest asap
You’re suggesting PW might be prejudicing a deal by wading in. Well that’s more than problematic if the result is an unhappy JK is playing for him next season.
I think we should give PW the benefit of the doubt on that one

Thing is warne will have a significantly better idea of demand for knight, monies being offered and indeed the clubs (not his but DCs/SPs) valuation of the player
everything else here and on the net is pure speculation
if the offers are about right and not far off DCs and SPs value of knight and he goes for 1.5m thats f*** all to do with warne talking it will be the valuation placed on him by the people that run the club
but im sure people will use it as another yard Stick to smash warne over the head with

To be clear, this isn’t me blindly defending Warne, just trying to be objective/play devils advocate or whatever.
He’s been asked a question and given an answer, it might not be exactly what some want to hear but fans in general are keen for some news and he’s provided some. If he’s not involved in the negotiations he’s passing comment on what he knows, Pearce and Clowes will talk the actual figures with the clubs and if they meet the valuation he’ll be sold, what Warne does or doesn’t say in an interview won’t influence that in my view.

Did they play a similar team? I thought, in the latter stages when most of the goals were conceded they played the kids.
At the end of the day though it doesn’t really matter even if we’d only drawn 0:0. Today’s game was only about starting to ramp up the fitness levels and getting used to each other, not really tactics or even individual performance.

nogbad van 50 got a reaction from Kinder in Sonny Bradley - signed on a two-year-deal
Whereas I felt the opposite way .He was hampered at his previous club by a small budget and the clubs location and standing but still assembled a promotion team on 3 occasions. He's now surrounded by a good fitness and coaching set up with experienced people assessing recruitment and a great owner.
I like his outgoing personality and think his motivational attitude is refreshing,as all his signings have vouched for.Think he'll get the best out of his squad and ,once we've resolved the possible Knight or Cashin sales then we can go and bring in the additional 3/4 impact signings we need to take us to the required level. Not too far off now!

Just spoke to my source, the club have had enquiries for Cash but nothing further than that. He’s just come back from surgery so it’d be a risk for most clubs

I personally would be very happy for him to stay for the next few years and think we'll sell Knight to generate the funds to help us improve the squad.Happy with the free transfer business so far but we'll need money to attract one or two marquee signings at this level and here's hoping Knights position gets resolved soon
-
nogbad van 50 reacted to RoyMac5 in Summer Rumour Mill
We don't need the money, does he want to go? If he's worth that now he'll be worth more next season and we have little quality defensive youth in the squad.

As I said, large pinch of salt when it comes to Barry. However there are a couple of forum members backing up the idea, one of whom seemingly was “ITK” about Bradley. No idea myself if there’s any truth to it, but this thread is the rumour mill and it’s a rumour….a nasty unwelcome sceptical one, but a rumour nonetheless.
Warne mentioned in his interview there was interest in 3 or 4 players, not much comment about that amongst the fan base because of the comments on Knight probably leaving, but it’s realistic to think others may be sold.

Lets get there first Mel!
But we aren't under an EFL business plan and we are a bigger draw. The recruitment team will have had longer to settle in as well.

Really like that interview. Just feel a bit more intensity to these new lads
Definitely coming having been sold on the club, the facilties and with the understanding that you work hard and you will be part of something big this season.
If we were down at halftime were the likes of Bird, Sibley galvanising the troops? Even Davies, Forsyth had had a chastening few years, so these new players with relative recent success but who can see we are a bigger club than those they have been at, should be exactly what we need.
Been a tough few years for us fans and a vocal, confident manager with a bunch of hard nosed, hard working, fit players who give everything and don't allow us to be bulied as we were at times last season is what I'm really looking forward to. A team that doesn't meekly accept defeat away from home and turns up some games at home and plays amazing football but won't put the opposition to the sword.
