I don't like the 'entitled' argument....
But a year out of nearly going bust...
We have strengthened the whole team except the strike-force.
Yet we still have James Collins, Connor Washington...plus Sibley, NML..
And have 2 more signings potentially to come - so Waghorn, Rhodes   ... they may not be exactly what we dreamed of but let's at least have some perspective.

We'll agree on that! Not a wonderful addition ,if and when he signs,but,sadly,it's an indication of where we are as a club. 

I know I couldn't resist....I did leave out that he's totally aware of where the goalposts are at PP as his sore ribs will testify.......

But wherever he has played he’s had a very loyal following. That counts. His attitude is right and Warne has already said numerous times that he wants players who are the right sort of human being. He will know Cash, Bird, Fozzy and probably some of the academy kids along with ground staff and others. I haven’t a single doubt that he’s a contributor to the whole if that’s what Warne wants in the absence of an available affordable and game changing  “golden child” striker

To be fair Waghorn for me is more like Didzy as could easily drop in to a 10 role and isn’t just a striker 
I don’t think Waghorn would be a terrible signing at all on a 1 year contract

What he said in his interview was the truth, he has set Paul Warne a budget and it is a budget that he (Clowes) believes is enough to get promotion from this division. Here’s the quote again;
"Paul has been given a budget, I think a good budget for League One that is good enough to get us out of the league. But it's football and nothing is guaranteed."
There is no lie there, it’s a statement that a budget has been set and an expression of his personal belief that it’s a competitive budget, with a caveat that nothing is guaranteed. 

I thought Waggy looked surprisingly quick and mobile yesterday. 
 
Of course we want the next generation but if such a thing isn’t forthcoming at least you’d get a known quantity who works his what nots off. He fluffs things as we all know but he’s canny and strong which counts in L1. 

It’s true, someone’s got to replace Lewis Dobbin in that regard

Is there any real suggestion that Waghorn could return, or is it just fan speculation?
I would definitely say that he'd strengthen us, he never gave less than 100% and he always seemed to be a positive influence in the dressing room. In league 1, if we could afford him, it seems a no brainer to me.
Waghorn or Jordan Rhodes, I know they're different types of player, but it would Waghorn every time for me.

Really nice guy, and even though he would struggle to trap a bag of cement, I would be happy to have him giving his all in a League One campaign.

How can you not like him...
