EnigmaRam got a reaction from NellyRam in Paul Warne on Sportscene for full hour 1st August
I find reading the comments on Twitter to be sad and depressing. So many people are entitled and toxic.

I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t like him personally.

If Bird isn’t playing I’d put Wilson in that 10 spot. Can play passes, go past players and shoot.

Listen again. Listen to the squad he's creating, the ethos and the aim. The players buy into it, want to achieve something here.
He knows we need more players, but unless you want to be like Mel and spew money around then we have to be patient and wait for opportunities. PS having a good looking bank statement is no bad thing!

EnigmaRam reacted to FlyBritishMidland in Billy Sharp
Excellent post. Some football supporters think it’s OK to hurl abuse and then a player dares to have a reaction, most common is cupping their ears when they score, they then get offended. Bizarre behaviour.
Personally, the chants at Sharpe are, quite frankly, disgusting. You could argue he should walk away and ignore them but it’s not always that easy. And as for the “pensioner” in the video, doesn’t seem like that to me.
As for the player, he’s another one that I think could chip in with a few goals. Obviously past his peak but would be a good impact sub.

https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/sport/sheffield-united-striker-billy-sharp-argues-with-derby-fans-outside-ground-b2189587.html
Over the last ten years or so Derby fans have;
Falsely accused and repeatedly chanted about/at him being a sex offender, paedo and rapist. "She said no Billy...she said no", "Derby boys are on a bender, Billy Sharp is a sex offender" and "Paedo paedo paedo". These were even sung on Saturday without him on the pitch or even playing for them anymore.
Openly mocked him for his baby son dying on social media and aimed similar themed chants at him. This, despite the club wearing black armbands for his family grieving and Sharp thanking the club.
Taken any chance to send abusive messages to him on social media (see recent tweet examples), and in the open (see video) due to his dislike of the two above points.
He's well within his rights to dislike this and give back. I'm sure 99% of people if given the same torrent of abuse he's had off a loud but small minority here for many years, would react similarly as he has. To hate him as he simply has human feelings is quite harsh.

EnigmaRam reacted to Carl Sagan in Max Bird
I'd meant to start a midfield thread after Warne commented we needed another body there. I wasn't convinced. But if Max Bird goes, we will and it allows Warne to shape things more in his image. Lovely lad, but I feel Bird has not pushed on as he should. His goal should be to have become our Michael Carrick, but when I watch him I'm a bit meh.
The issue is Clowes bought us to save the club. Without him, we were gone, but he does not have deep pockets and running a football club with ambition at our level is a seriously loss-making enterprise. It's now about balance, but I expect we have to sell before we buy and it seems apparent (and understandable) that not all monies received will be reinvested.
If this happens we look weaker than last season, but need to adapt and work with what we have. It's not what we want, but we're still living off scraps. I'm far from the only person on here to suggest Sibley has a higher ceiling than Knight and Bird. It should be up to young Louie and the manager to realize that potential. That's the kind of mindset we need for the moment.

To bring things back into focus for @IlsonDerby’s benefit, I think this should be the lineup for Saturday. With a bench of Vickers (if fit), Wilson, Rooney, Thompson, Washington, Barkhuizen (if fit), Waghorn (if signed).
NML and Bird to get into those attacking areas to support Collins as they have in pre-season, Forsyth offering a more solid option than Thompson on the left who can come on to rest Fozzy’s legs once we’re comfortably in the lead.

EnigmaRam got a reaction from DCFC1388 in Goalscorers
There’s a reason the likes of Clarke Harris and Didzy gets goals in League one. Defences are league one standard. Arguably we have a champ standard defence, and all our strikers are capable at this level to score double figures against league one defences imo

You're conflating two points in your post.
You say on one hand that the recruitment for offensive players has been poor then you mention people irrationality defending Warne. The implication of this is clear which is you lay this at Warnes door.
But then you go on to say that Clowes shouldn't have said that our budget this season was competitive nothing to do with Warne. Then you say the local press shouldn't have been trumpeting the lifting of transfer restrictions nothing to do with Warne.
Consider for a moment that Clowes may be right and our budget is competitive? So we are competing against other teams who also are trying to pick up a proven goalscorer for next to nothing on sensible wages.
But because we haven't managed to achieve this so far then the issue clearly is Warnes pulling power as a manager.
Just because we are competing doesn't then automatically mean we are going to steam roller the teams we are competing with. Clowes didn't say that.
I'm all for people posting their opinions as it is a forum but it's a double edged sword, if folks don't like being called out on some of the items they comment on then maybe they should consider the import of what they post before they hit the Submit Reply button.

Will the South Stand stop singing that dreadful song about him if we sign him? It was repeated several times yesterday.
We do have a few fans who appear not to have a brain cell between them.

EnigmaRam reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Martyn Waghorn - signed a 1-year deal
We haven’t assembled Dad’s Army, will you please stop volunteering these unfounded generalisations about the squad?
I’ll once again provide you with some facts, we have so far signed Elder who is 28, Vickers who is 27, Ward who is 27, Wilson who is 23, Nelson who is 30, Bradley who is 31 and Washington who is also 31.
The first team squad includes Bird (22), Cashin (21), Rooney (19), Sibley & Thompson (21), Wildsmith (27) Barkhuizen (30), NML (31), Hourihane Smith & Collins (32).
The oldest outfield player we have is Forsyth at 34 and Loach is the oldest overall player on the books at 35.
Last season we had Curtis Davies (38), James Chester (34), Richard Stearman and David McGoldrick (35). The age profile of the squad this year is improved from last year.
Now specifically on the subject of Waghorn. At 33 is he an ideal signing? No he’s not. Another question, do we want to go into the season with only 2 senior strikers? No we don’t. So would it be logical to sign Waghorn on sensible terms if they can be agreed, to bolster the depth of the squad in the immediate, whilst potentially still looking to secure a younger striker to complete our 4 striking options for the season? Yes it would.
What are the other options? There are a fair few free agents, I’ve been looking through a list this morning. The youngest and most exciting would be Josh Maja at 24, I suspect he’s above our current means and ambitions. Assombalonga and Afobe at 30, could be good options but not sure if they pass your age test? Bas Dost, Islam Slimani, Mattia Destro? All former internationals, would be cheat codes at this level, also all 32-35 and unrealistic. Jonathon Kodija? Was a beast for a couple of seasons at Bristol City and Villa, but he’s also 33. Sean Maguire is 29, left Coventry in the summer, might not be a bad shout. Macauley Bonne is 27 and scored at this level before so he could be another option. There really aren’t that many viable free agent options. We seemingly have to be sensible with the fees we spend. And any loans could be unproven. That’s the situation we’re in, maybe sign Waghorn to boost the depth and add an option, maybe don’t and look elsewhere 🤷🏻♂️

Signing waggy as a 4th or 5th choice striker as an option off the bench and to cover injuries wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Low cost, low risk. I wouldn’t be against it. There’s better out there for sure. But they’re alot more expensive. But who knows who’s actually available once the dominoes begin to tumble

EnigmaRam got a reaction from angieram in Fozzys Big Day Derby vs Stoke
Really enjoyed that. We looked much better balanced. Some brilliant goals scored. Thought smith looked good, Bradley was a colossus at the back and Ward really looks a good player that will get many assists.
Was impressed with Collo for his goal. Came deep to the half way line then ended up in the box for a header.
Was also a great day for Fozzy and loved seeing Bryso, Nuge, Waggy and Jonno back in a Derby shirt at Pride Park.
