My take from this is I can't wait for the season to start and I also need to block about 50 of our fans on twitter and on here.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course they are. Who am I to tell them they are right of wrong. I cant. I'm a nobody. I have no influence or importance. However, after reading the same guff over and over and over again, I'm past the stage of interaction and discussion. Past the stage of even reading or listening. I'm now, sadly, just blocking and enjoying the rest.

I find reading the comments on Twitter to be sad and depressing. So many people are entitled and toxic.

  2. I guess it all depends on the fee, and if we can reinvest it. Something we didn’t do with Bielik or Knight money.

Even if he didn’t sign a contract this year he still could next year or we would get compensation.

I don’t like the fact we’re selling our youngsters and bringing in older players with no resale value. It’s not a good business model. Although if our Browns and Robinsons in the academy are seen as players that can step up then that may be where our future capital comes from.

    Time will tell

  3. There’s a reason the likes of Clarke Harris and Didzy gets goals in League one. Defences are league one standard. Arguably we have a champ standard defence, and all our strikers are capable at this level to score double figures against league one defences imo

  4. I think home kits at least, should be on sale prior to kids summer holiday toward end of July. Otherwise it’s lost revenue and poor management imo. As the only kit out I’d have bought it do my hols, won’t bother now and will wait to see what the others are like

  5. Signing waggy as a 4th or 5th choice striker as an option off the bench and to cover injuries wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Low cost, low risk. I wouldn’t be against it. There’s better out there for sure. But they’re alot more expensive. But who knows who’s actually available once the dominoes begin to tumble

  6. Really enjoyed that. We looked much better balanced. Some brilliant goals scored. Thought smith looked good, Bradley was a colossus at the back and Ward really looks a good player that will get many assists.

Was impressed with Collo for his goal. Came deep to the half way line then ended up in the box for a header.

Was also a great day for Fozzy and loved seeing Bryso, Nuge, Waggy and Jonno back in a Derby shirt at Pride Park.

We should have the biggest budget in the division this year by some margin.

Looking at last year's average attendances, of this year's League One, Bolton had the next highest average, around 8.5k lower than us.

That's almost 50% higher than our nearest rivals.

I agree to an extent. But what we don’t know is the running costs of the club and academy. We may get more in, but we probably pay more out too.

Agree them fans banging on about JCH are in cloud cuckoo land. But i don't think its beyond the wildest expectations for us to spend a bit of money to bring in an attacker or two?

I would love to see who our targets have been for the forward positions just to see who we've lost out on.

Look at the 3 promoted teams last season, they all had quality options going forward. Yes Ipswich rolled out the war chest so we can discount them, but no reason why we shouldn't have the same standard of options as Plymouth and Wednesday.

To be fair, Wednesdays top scorer has 16, 6 of which were penalties. Plymouths top scorer had 13, 4 which were penalties. Increasing our goals across the team is just as good as a 25 goal striker.

Peterborough, Derby, Portsmouth and Cheltenham had strikers scoring more goals than both Wednesday and Plymouth yet none went up.

I 100% agree we need more firepower, but the sum of the parts just needs to be better than last year

  9. As much as I think he’d do a good job for us and score goals, my main disappointment is that we’ll be spending money we’ve just got off selling knight and Bielik on an over 30 player with no sell on value.

Id much rather we invest in some youth who’s values will potentially increase.

We can get a Lucas joao or assombalonga for free if we want an experienced player up top. No need to spend money on one.
