Hourihane and smith are both out of contract in the summer aren’t they? So we may be looking at replacements that aren’t getting games or contracts expire that would be cheap to get in.

It's usually at this time when we're within touching distance of the top 2 we blow it and then go onto have a disastrous run, however I'm not going to pessimistic this time as I feel like it's 1986 again.
Sounded pretty pessimistic to me 🤣

Derby 1-2 Peterborough
frgs Hourihane

I obviously don’t know the in and outs of his fitness but signing him on a free with a one year contract and a further one year option to prove fitness it may be a decent deal.

Scored again today

Aye my eyesight to blame there haha
Struggling to piece together that lineup into a something my brain can make sense of tbh
Could be nyambe, Nelson and cash as the 3 CB’s. Fozzy and Wilson as wing backs. Hourihane and Bird sitting with sibs at the 10. NML and Waggy up top. Or it could be 4231 🤷♂️🤣

Looks a 4231 with Sibley in the 10
Looks like a 532 to me

Assume Fornah is injured not just dropped.
He’s on the bench so dropped at a guess

I wish him well, except next season when we end up getting promoted and playing them in the same division.
If he comes in for any of our players, I have no issues with that. As long as they, or whoever pay what the club wants then there’s no issues.

We are not going anywhere unless we find something going forward. Brown is banging them in this season, again, for the youth teams. Play the kid. I do not need to see Collins amble around with minimal effort or Waghorn marking himself again.
He’s scored 3 hasn't he? 2 less than Waggy and 1 less than collins, same number as Hourihane. And in the youth teams aswell. Hardly banging them in

Enjoyed last night. I’m also looking forward to Warne having some headaches with that midfield selection. Embleton, Sibs, Fornah, Bird, Tommo, Smith and Hourihane. There’s some really good players there which should bode well over the course of the season.
I do like the look of Fornah, he makes it look easy which is always a sign of a good player.

Surprised nobody asked about the mystery free transfer Warne was after

Difficult to answer really at this point. I haven’t enjoyed what I’ve seen so far. However, the first few games were a bit of a mess due to individual errors that cost us and caused us to look very nervous at the back. The midfield was slow which offered no support at either end of the pitch.
We then got all the injuries and had to change formation, and managed to get some new younger legs in.
I will reserve judgement for a couple months when the players are back to see whether I actually like it or not.- Archied, Jourdan and Tamworthram

If one full back is so much higher than the other, how can it still be classed as a back 4? From what I've seen, they change between a back 3 and back 4 in games, but it looks more like a back 3 most of the time.🤷♂️
In that case under Mac we never played 433. We played 235?

Don’t think it’s just the red card that’s the issue. In isolation then you could argue it was a one off mistake. But when you factor in the non penalty as it was outside the box, blowing up before we scored, Bradley being dragged down for a definite penalty and NML not being awarded a own even though anywhere outside the box that’s a foul.
He just got it all wrong and is totally inept at officiating a football match. Anyone else in any walk of life gets so much wrong in their job they’d be sacked. It’s more likely to get a Manager sacked though in football which is a tragedy imo

If we continue this lob-sided 3-5-2/4-4-2 system.
We're potentially only 2 injures away from not being able to play with 3 CBs
We can't keep getting away with playing NML in RWB. Teams are going to realise what we're doing soon. Rooney was exposed massively at times against Peterborough
I don't know where NML or Barkhuizen even fit in this system
I expect Fornah to replace Smith at some point which will hopefully free up Hourihane more.
I still think our players are better suited to a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1, but Warne's committed to playing 2 up front now after signing so many strikers.
I don’t think we play with 3 at the back. We ply with 4. We just push Fozzy up high as an attacking fullback. This overloads the left hand side creating more space for NML to exploit on the right.
That’s what I’m seeing anyway 🤷♂️

Happy with this. Good player, but would like us to bring in someone else to battle for the position and allow us to use him more sparingly. Dont want him to burn out
