Anyone else had this hilarious problem, or is it just i?

Yes you've guessed it , you hear a chant and get the words wrong which can cause an awful lot of gaffawing amongst your family when you sing it out in the shower , in the south stand toilets or in the que for a veggie falafeal  wrap at Forests Green Rovers.

So as a starter for 10 i have been thinking that the NML chant goes...."he's got no neck but he's got a massive hand"

Also thought the Cashin song went "his calves really massive..."

But the one that creases me the most is the time i was sat next to a young whipper snapper at the playoffs v Brighton- we were all singing Que sera sera, but this lado was singing Say sarah sarah - oh how we laughed...so much so i dropped my cheese and broccoli quiche and chicken and mushroom vol au vonts on the steps of the north stand, terrible mess...

Smashing BHA in the playoffs, good times , oh how i long for those days of Hughes Hendrix, Bryson , Russell......

Jimi played for us? No wonder the chants are a mess

I do enjoy the Twitter admin’s work a lot of the time, but is there a need to “tease” everything? Surely on occasion signings, kit reveals etc, could just be announced without the 15 mins delay in between posts

To be fair, it gives those of us that work for a living time to go on our poo break so they can see the reveal.

Also, some people now have tickets from being on the reserve list at Derby - so some are returning theirs. Are you on that?

No I’m in the 0-5 category and didn’t know about a reserve list. But thanks for letting me know about it. Will get my name down next time

  4. This got to page 15 quick. I doubt he’s on borrowed time with the owner, as we probably can’t even afford to sack him. However he’s probably getting there with more supporters after the last 2 games.

Needs a positive result/performance on Saturday to steady the nerves and raise the confidence in that dressing room. Anymore performances like last nights first half and it will be very difficult to motivate this team back from the abyss

  5. That first half was an embarrassing watch.

Second half was a. It better but still very little to be positive about. There was one passage of play where we cut them open with slick first touch passing. And a full on challenge by Cashin on one of their players showed desire and commitment.

I think a defender should defend first and not be overlapping to bye line to put crosses in. Other players are paid to do that. They just aren’t mobile or quick enough to play how they’re being asked to.

The 3 CB’s need to be narrower and comical out of possession. The wing backs need to get their arses back to cover the wide areas. The midfield needs a rocket up their arses and put some tackles in.

Felt sorry for all forwards as they had zero service.

Need to at least put a committed performance in on Saturday, or serious questions need to be asked

Read it….and. You were bringing up sell on value. My point is we need not worry about it when we are not spending anything on fees plus if they help us get promotion our revenue will increase. No need for this fixation on sell on value in our current position.

My point was there’s no guarantee we will go up with all the older players. I actually think we will btw.

And we’re running out of assets to sell to pay the wages of all these older players.

Warne keeps saying we need players who can perform in front of big crowds and deal with the pressure. Does that apply to the manager too? We shall see…

I don’t believe that at all regarding the players. Port vale and Fleetwood came to Pride Park and beat us. How many do they normally play in front of?

You’d soon get used to it after a game or 2

yes, a perfect situation to build a squad from scratch.

my frustration is we are no better off than we were then as we will be in the exact same situation next summer unless we go up

i would just like to see us build a long term squad instead of throw one together thatll be dismantled at the end of every season

I don’t often agree with your negativity but in this regard I do.

There’s no guarantees we will go up no matter who we sign. But almost every signing in the last 3 windows has been old players with no sell on value.

Would much rather have gone for the younger players that were free like Bernard and Smith etc. even if we didn’t go up or work out they would still have value for a nominal sale. If they did do well they could be worth millions.

Hopefully this is the last window we will need to get free old has beens in to make up a team

I thought everyone was clamouring for Bird to play higher up the pitch! In my view he is not a holding midfielder - his tackling isn’t strong enough, not good in the air, lacks a bit of pace.

Never saw him play but where’s Duncan Edwards when you need him.

Yeah lots of people kept saying he needs to play further forward. Now he is and they’re saying he should be played further back.

Personally I don’t think we have a DM, box to box, or CAM. We Just have 3 generic midfielders that all do the same.

Worrying thing Is we seem to want to play with 2 10’s, but don’t have any fit and we don’t have an athletic DM

If you and other people feel the need to question Warne that’s up to you. I only ever look to contest points with people when I can see a fairly logical counter argument. I’ve not seen anything of desperate concern to worry about yet.
The forward recruitment? We’ve signed Washington and are intending to add more strikers.

The depth of the squad? It’s currently better balanced and in need of a few more signings to be improved further, which Warne and the club have explained.

The selling of players and inability to re-invest the funds? That’s not Warne’s doing, is it? It’s circumstantial, born from Morris’ legacy, the admin and the EFL. It’s been made clear that Pearce and Clowes ultimately dictate the business side of the club.

So what are we left with? His choice of players to recruit? Always going to be subjective and can’t really be qualified until we’ve seen them succeed or fail in a rams shirt.

His bad patter? That’s just who he is, can’t do much about it.

His tactical and in game management? It let us down last season. He’s said all the right things in recognising that and needed to be better, now he needs to show it when it matters, again can’t fully judge it until the season starts.

I’ve no problem with people questioning Warne, I just don’t yet see any real questions to be levelled solely at his door. It feels like people will go out of their way to question Warne relentlessly, about anything, without much thought or depth to the argument….that’s what I don’t get. And I would feel this way if it was Rosenior, Steve McClaren, Jim Smith or Brian Clough himself.

I wouldn’t waste your breath mate. It’s clear some people think we can spend millions on players and not get into financial difficulties. It’s like they’ve all had amnesia or something.

We all know this team needed at least 10 players in. There’s a limited budget to play with. Some of the deals like Washington and Wilson were very clever imo.

Not really sure what anyone’s got to moan about tbh before a balls even kicked.

    So no twitching?

    Hypothetical example…

Pursue Rhodes on a 12k / week plus wage.

    Or…

    May 4k / week

    Waghorn on 3k / week

    Bonis on 1.5k / week

and some nominal fees and creative bonuses.

We were in pole position a month ago. Not now. Because others with less money have thought creatively.

    Is that what they’re on?

3-1 win against a full strength Man City side. Washington and Collins bullied Dias and Stones to grab a goal each, Korey Smith picked De Bruyne’s pocket in midfield and lobbed Ederson from halfway to give us a 3-0 lead. Bradley had Haaland in his pocket and they only scored a deflected consolation after Cashin got bored of marking Foden out the game and let him get a shot away which cannoned in off Forsyth’s deckchair….
    🤥

In truth, nope, but I enjoyed spinning a yarn

That’s clearly nonsense as Wash scored a hat trick 🙄

So it must have been 5-1 🤔
