    Spot on!
    Bury North MP James Daly
Football Governance debated on Monday 14 June 2021
    House of Commons Westminster Hall
The big premier league clubs around us did nothing. Manchester United and Manchester City did not come knocking on the door, saying, “What can we do to help?” There was nothing, and no local authority. The fans of Bury have been left to themselves.
The recent debate regarding the super league was very nice. It suited certain people on TV to be outraged by that, but those same people never defended Bury or AFC Wimbledon because they do not care.
    ……………..think it’s called climbing on a bandwagon!?

Just a thought…. If everyone tweets @TheLastLeg #isitok they love their sport, love an underdog and pointing out injustice and hypocrisy. They may troll the EFL like they did trump!

Or we did everything we could  we don't want to lose Derby but we have to maintain the integrity of the Football League that's why we appointed Peter Ridsdale to sort it out.

Exactly this all about what's suits the EFL. If we settle everyone walks away happy, the news dies down and everyone forgets the EFL are generally terrible. It also gives them the PR boon of being able so "look we negotiated a deal between clubs and saved DCFC, we arnt biased at all, how could we be, we saved them" ?

The EFL's aim is to get out if this with minimal consequences on the EFL. That's why their favourite is "just settle with Boro and Wycombe"

Kicking the can a month down the road gives the EFL exactly what they want. “Oh look at us, we’re compassionate, we’ve given them another month”, then let the noise created over the past week the chance to die down, and then kill us quietly in a months time.

If I could yes I would but I do understand need give and take.
But I would make sure players and employees are looked after and I would give people like me a chance in the work place and if they need support person to help them do the job i would make sure they got it.

Intersted to see who the third party is, we assume not CK after his twitter tantrum just before christmas.
Either the Carslie thing or Gadsby.
Seemed to think for some reason Gadsby was a "not really keen but would not let DCFC die if nothing else can work" kind of interest and the Carlisle investment thing was not in the numbers likely to succeed - presumably if either are back they've got something in the same ball park as Appleby and Ashley.

RammingStone66 reacted to Day in The Football Creditor rule is explicit, simple, and solves all of Derby's issues
Under the rules they are not entitled to their day in court, moratorium prevents them from doing so, nor have Boro come out and said we want our day in court, they won't want this in court, they are looking for a financial settlement. A settlement they have no entitlement to.
I'm led to believe a moratorium prevents arbitration.
    Agreed, that's not our fault.
They are in a deep deep hole, and by "simple" I'm not suggesting it's easy for the EFL, they are in a world of trouble. It's simple in that all it takes is for a one paragraph statement to move this stalemate on.
We can't be expected to just agree to some settlement just to make life easier for the EFL, we do that and it not only admits defeat but opens the floor for claims from other clubs that lose out on places in the Championship.
Side note here, saw it raised on Twitter, let's say we settled, admitting that by cheating we cost Boro a place in the play offs, does that then allow Pulis and the squad of players during that season to then go knocking on Gibson's door asking for their bonuses for finishing top 6?
I would love there to be a solution which the EFL, Derby, Boro and Wycombe are all happy with, but it's simply not possible.

What I don’t get is. If it’s all down to the interpretation of the policy on whether they are football creditors. Why isn’t an independent panel convened in an emergency to make the decision?
Once that is done, everyone at least knows where they stands and the process can continue.

You notice the media never mention the 5 window embargo ....just that we are cheats and had points deducted. It's embargos arnt a punishment unless your a top 6 prem club ?

You would think it could even set the precident for clubs to be making claims against each other everytime accounts are released. You could have clubs demanding be moved, fined, promoted, demoted etc.
It's an insane situation for the EFL to put themselves in. If they kill us off, the government probably steps in and kills the EFL. If we survive, Boro sue them, their horrible governance is exposed and maybe the government step in and kill them anyway.
Sort of feels like, "well if we are going to die we are taking Derby with us"

You ever get the feeling that Boro don't think they will be hit for breaking those rules?
Maybe they have some magic accounting to fix it that the EFL will actually like, or is this pay off they want to get to just get under the limits. Or will they blame it on covid and the EFL will just accept that without really looking a they won't be hit.
I wouldn't put anything past either of them

Any agreement would have to be extremely well-worded, otherwise it’ll be an admission of guilt and it would become just the first of many such claims against the club.

I think that fact definitely plays against us here. It's a complicated issue for us who have been following it the whole time.
Easier to say Derby are cheaters than explain a situation.

Plus he made out like it was all fine and said we wouldn't fail P&S. People assumed Mel was telling the truth. From a guy who sold himself as a fan of the club I can't see where actual fans did too much wrong.

I wouldn't say it's quite that simple when said update could be used in court later down the line. Also when your waging a PR war against someone and trying to keep potential buyers on the hook you want to make sure you get your wording right
