So Graham Lloyd is our 4-day captain - will he score enough runs himself is my only concern there?
Samit Patel is the one day captain - obvious choice in my eyes.
Any rumours on who the second overseas will be?
David Lloyd 👀
He’s probably not going to score du Plooy’s volume of runs, but he will get his share, helped by going back into the middle order here rather than opening the batting out of necessity at Glamorgan the last couple of years.
Nothing yet. With the T20 world cup running around the same time as T20 blast, it’s probably making things a bit awkward. I much prefer getting a player for the whole season but wouldn't be surprised if it's several players for short stings this season.

Completely understand it's a QB-orientated league, but I'm gutted Puka Nacua didn't win OROY. I thought it would be a bit closer in terms of voting, but 48 votes for Stroud out of 50 says otherwise.
Yeah if a QB just has a good season they win it over a WR having a great season.
I've still not got over Justin Jefferson being snubbed in 2020 👀

Can't wait to see @David in his new Cousins jersey 👀

Are Americans really convinced that it's all rigged because Taylor Swift is doing the do with a Chiefs player??
Some think it’s always rigged for one reason or another.

Wayne Madsen scoring 44 not out to pick Joburg Super Kings off the bottom of the table to qualify for the semi finals.
JSK taking a leaf out of the Manchester Originals book, don't play Madsen and lose games, then play him and realise he should have been playing from the start 😂

Seems that the points for a draw is going back up to 8 next season.
Always have to change something….

1 more overseas to come in. Probably a spinning all-rounder? Would like us to get a batsman in though to be fair.
I know we say this every year - but I actually am excited about next summer.
That's the possible team with the backups (for the championship), not only does the team look good, but there's plenty of depth.
As for the overseas, a leg spinner who can also bat? A Mattie McKiernan replacement, but hopefully an upgrade.
I think the batting is fine as long as Donald and/or Lamb play well. We need to find a way to take 20 wickets to win some games.

Awful news 😔
Unfortunately, having a family member who spent their life battling health problems and passed away far too young is something I can sympathise with. Hopefully his family can see the impact he had on this community and that will give them some comfort in this incredibly difficult time.
B4’s exhuberant optimism for the Rams can be repalced.

COuld be exciting. I'm sure he was the guy who hit the winning run(s) when we won the 2nd division championship. Didn't he also fall foul of the DCCC authorities by buggering off to Australia in the close season?
Won it by smashing a six 😁

I thought that this time last year, didn’t quite go as I thought it would
on a other issue I see we are involved in the T20 blast off again at edgebaston on June 1st. I know we are probably being compensated but it looks like we’ll be giving up a home fixture again.
Honestly think the overseas makes all the difference. We got a mixed bag from Haider and almost nothing from Lakmal. Your overseas needs to be the players that turn all those draws into some wins.

Great to see Dal get an extension, good all round cricket, good all round bloke. just what you want in the squad.

Once it's turned toxic with the fans the way we have seen today, it's over.

I think we are a strike bowler and an opening bat/number 3 away from challenging. We have one more overseas pick, i'm hoping bowler
I've seen it suggested that Mickey Arthur has said the other overseas will be a bowler, but I can't remember seeing that.

Samit Patel is in the building 🙌
From the clubs website…
“Patel, 38, will remain at The Incora County Ground until the end of the 2025 season, and will be available for all formats.”
Mickey Arthur said he will primarily play T20 but is available for the championship. Having not played 4-day cricket for 3 years its probably a case of see how he goes.
Listening to Samit’s interview, he seems a little irked at being discarded by Notts, so I expect him to be fired up for those games 😀

“Tickner will be with Derbyshire from the start of the 2024 season until July 4, and will be available for a period which includes nine County Championship games, as well as eight Vitality Blast fixtures.”
As suspected, I think it will be a number of overseas players in blocks throughout the season.
I like the Tickner signing, made his international debut last year, and can bowl 90mph 😄
Really boosted the bowling ranks with Amir, Chappell, Connners, Brown, Aitchinson, plus the medium pacers and spinners. We need to win games to challenge for promotion, and do that we need to take 20 wickeys, something we've rarely looked like doing the past couple of seasons.
