And why Hungary, for goodness sake.
Perhaps it was a case of being in the right place at the right time? Perhaps he just went to watch (maybe Wayne Madsen is playing for Italy again), there was a braai there and someone said "Are you hungry?"
"Yes".
"OK, get your pads on."
I remember Hungarian heritage of some sort being the reason he was able to play county cricket as a “local player”.

Anuerin Donald signing has been confirmed. 2 year contract. Explosive player who could really benefit from settled regular cricket. Never played any red ball cricket this year, got a couple of centuries in the one day cup.

Not sure we need all of those bowling, think we need a batsman to fill the void in runs from Du Plooy’s departure in the middle order. Are Lamb or Donald good enough for that role 🤔
I think Lloyd is the Du Plooy replacement and Donald the Haider replacement. Lloyd won't match Du Plooy’s runs, but hopefully will be a much better captain
With Reece and Lloyd bowling options, I don't think you need Amir, Chappell, Conners, Dal, and Thomson all playing.
I’d still like a quality overseas spinner if we can get one.

Someone will still have to miss out:
Reece
Came
Guest
Madsen
Lamb/Donald
Lloyd
Dal
Thompson
Chapell
Conners
Amir
Out of those 12, 8 are genuine bowlers, there’s a lot of different ways you can set a team up with those players.
If Lamb is fully fit and bowling he has a better chance to be in the team, if not he misses out.

Patal has said he will be playing just white ball cricket next season. Think Donald will be a good player for white ball cricket but not sure who he will replace in the 4 day game….Lamb?
It's hard to say without knowing who the other overseas will be, but I wouldn't be surprised if Guest goes down the order and Lloyd bats at 3 and Donald at 5.

Is Donald still at Glamorgan? Guessing that'll be a Lloyd pick. Both players have mullered Derbyshire in the past! Lloyd to be captain?
No, he's at Hampshire but hasn't been getting a game in red ball cricket. He's contracted until the end of next season, what I've heard is he wants to come, but Hampshire hadn't quite agreed to it yet.
Lloyd is expected to be captain.

Final table.
A sixth place finish, which is the same as last season. No wins, but only 4 losses.
Disappointingly, Sussex and Leicestershire jumped above us this season, with the two relegated teams finishing in the bottom 2.
Reinforcements to the bowling attack and a bit more in the home pitch and hopefully next season will be better 🤞
The rumors are Samit Patel & Aneurin Donald are coming in. A good second overseas signing to add to Mohammad Amir and we should be competitive.

Draw.
A decent effort, but 4 wickets short, story of the season really.
-
Into the final hour of the season, 5 wickets down, 5 to go. Need a wicket very soon to have a chance.

Our skipper says we will go for the win, can’t see us bowling them out though.
I only saw little bits today, but there was one ball from their spinner that pitched and shot along the floor, but missed Came’s off stump. Don’t know if there was many like that though. Thomson is bowling well and might get 4 or 5 wickets but the others need to chip in as well.
Have to see how long we give ourselves to bowl them out. Gloucestershire look likely to lose, so the wooden spoon has been avoided….be aggressive.

Can’t see us making a game of it, will be a bore draw…
Considering Glamorgan have had 11 draws this season, that’s always been the safe bet 😂

Glamorgan have declared on 301-5
They have a reputation for liking to try and set up games for a results, and they are living up to it.
Will be interesting to see what sort of target we are willing to set.
Unfortunately rain has delayed our second innings.

Bit like the other 250 days of this season.
Still we will have two new overseas players in for next summer and new hope will arise lol.
The games moving forward a bit quicker than I expected.
The second overseas signing is going to be the big one - Amir is a good signing.
-
Glamorgan don’t seem interested in doing anything other than shutting up shop for the draw. Don’t think this is going to a particularly exciting last 2 days of the season.

Good declaration. Gives us just over 6 months to bowl them out twice which just might be doable. 👍
Dunno, Glamorgan pitch looks to have less life in it than ours, might need an extra month.

Wagstaff and Thomson had a fun little smash before Thomson was caught on the boundary and the declaration came at 405-7
An excellent 65 not out off 74 balls for Wagstaff.
Glamorgan commentator has stitched me up…weve not declared at all 😂😂

Glamorgan have taken advantage of some better bowling conditions, and some not particularly good shots…but another 50 for Mitch Wagstaff has moved the score on to 388-6.
Should have stayed in the team after his last 50 for and probably isn't playing if Madsen doesn't get injured 🤔
-
308-2 after being out in, not a bad days work….
Not sure this is much a result pitch though, you can see why Glamorgan have drawn 11 of 14 games.

Someone at the club? Bit harsh!
Me, after he was dropped for a T20 game 😂
He has 100 now, Guest has 50.

Luis Reece passed 50 for the fifth consecutive innings today. 704 runs at an average of 70 this season 👏
Six in a row, been in fine form ever since someone declared his Derbyshire career over earlier in the season 🤔

80-1
Came and Reece looked destined to add to their century and triple century stand at Derby and century stand in the one day cup against Glamorgan with another…then Came started wafting at wide balls, dropped once, not a second time.

None of the team played in the one day cup this season.
Excellent preparation for a World Cup 🤔
