Is he definitely injured? This isn't the same kind of cope as last season where we all convinced ourselves that Lakmal's lack of impact was due solely to injuries?
I do agree that if he is injured we're being very unfair to keep throwing him in the team.
He has bulging discs in his back. I know your supposed to stay active, but I’m not sure standing on a cricket field all day is doing it any good.
if it wasn’t still a problem he would have bowled yesterday.
Lakmal is 10 years older than Lamb and probably about to retire.

For the most part I try to remain positive, but this is incredibly frustrating. Lamb may be the worst allocation of funds since Lakmal.
I don’t mind signing a talented all rounder who was only 26.
I’m struggling to see the sense in playing him when he’s clearly injured.

And du Plooy goes, and that’s it.

Fascinating cricket this morning, Came digging in with lots of good leaves, Madsen look to smack the ball to all parts. Unfortunately both fall before lunch and I think the game is up.

Good to see Madsen giving Bess' bowling the respect it deserves. 👏

Guest out early pushing at one he probably should have been leaving.
we will probably lose, but at least make them work for it…

65-1 at close
Solid from Came and Guest, the concern with this team is always a couple wickets can cause a collapse…

eventually declaring on 520-9

Lead is 501 and they bat on

Amazingly Yorkshire are still batting, apparently they think they need a lead of 500.
Or they’ve been told to make sure the game lasts until tomorrow…

Mitch Wagstaff replacing Leus du Plooy in the bowling attack - which tells you where we are at with this game….
gets a wicket bowling leg spin with his third delivery 😂
2 wickets in 3 balls 😂😂

Yorkshire are 324- 5 at lunch, a lead of 374.
Unless there's a flurry of wickets, it could be a case of how much Yorkshire think they need before putting us in.
3 wickets for Thomson and a deflection onto the stumps from his own bowling for a run out has been a decent effort. Conners has bowled well at an economy rate of 2.81, almost unheard of for him which is promising.
Chappell and Scrimshaw have been expensive and Dal has only bowled 4 overs, which is odd for a guy that got 5 wickets in the first innings…even if he was expensive in those overs.
-
247 all out
Decent partnership from Chappell and Conners dragged the score up a bit, but that's another disappointing collapse from 170 odd for 3.

Madsen not out on 93, unfortunately not getting adequate support here.

Don't get picking Lamb, he makes so few runs.
He was the signing I was most excited for this season.
He’s had/got bulging disc’s in his back, which has pretty much destroyed his season. Not sure where he’s at recovery wise, but he’s looked injured every time I’ve seen him play this season. Not sure if he should be playing to try and find form, or wrapped up in cotton wool until next year 🤷♂️

Maiden 50 for Mitch Wagstaff 😃
11 fours in score of 52. A great job of keeping the ball out and then putting away the ones that are there to be hit.
-
Billy Godleman has signed for Warwickshire on a 2 week loan.
Not sure if they are short of batsmen but seems a bit odd that a top end division 1 club needs to loan an out of favour player from Derbyshire. Best of luck to Billy though.
-
Harry Came out without a run on the board, but Mitch Wagstaff and Brooke Guest saw it through to stumps at 47-1.
An impressive 32 including 7 boundaries from Wagstaff.

297 all out
We've bowled a team out 😃
-
209-6 at tea.
4 wickets for Dal and one each for Conners and Scrimshaw. Chappell has bowled well for no reward.
Can we bowl them out in the last session and get in to bat tonight?

Lamb averages 30 in first class cricket from 46 games with 3 centuries and 9 50’s. That’s respectable, and has gone down as he’s averaging 20 this season where he’s been blighted by a back injury. He’s doesn’t belong in the same category as Wood.
du Plooy averaged 18 playing every game in 2021, but he’d scored runs before, just as Lamb has.
Wood unfortunately has had one big innings in every format but has never done it again.
