Ken Tram reacted to Quagga in Rooney 100% guarantee that no players leaving
Presumably we now have more space in max squad of 23.
I know Plange was a 'special' dispensation from the EFL, and I think Jagielka was an offset for Bielik? but Shinnie, Marshall, Baldock all should count - so Cashin etc. should be able to play more than 3 times now

I think we might be seeing one or two more Academy players debuts than we might have done if we'd been allowed (limited) signings.

Agree. I think it’s the lack of depth that’s the issue. If we get just one or two injuries we’re struggling, Shinnie would also give the option to ease Bielik back and take pressure off Thompson and Bird. But yeah Bielik softens the blow massively and is like a new signing. We can be competitive but need a bit of luck on the injury front.

Quite happy with the transfer window all things considering. It’s been hard losing Shinnie and Jagielka But Stearman is a good replacement for Jagielka and by all accounts the Wigan debt for their players has been wiped or reduced with the Shinnie sale. Plange stays until the end of the season (£1mil for a player out of contract in the summer - guess we couldn’t extend it) and we have kept other assets. Much needed because the squad is thin anyway. Bielik (if staying fit) is like signing a Prem international midfielder!
It could be a lot worse. Now have a fighting chance at staying up on the pitch and short term future extended a bit.

We can take the negatives from this window in that every other team in the division has either strengthened or stayed the same apart from Derby who are weaker in losing Jags and Shinnie, two massively important players.
However despite being backed into a corner and forced into a fire sale by the other EFL championship clubs we’ve kept a side that can at least compete which considering we still don’t have a preferred bidder and funds beyond March is amazing work from the administrators.
The key now is a takeover and exit of administration happening between now and the end of the season, this will enable us to at best be able to plan for next season whatever division we are in and build a competitive side, or at worst get something resembling market value for our saleable assets such as Bird Knight Bielik etc.

We can't compete with the Premier League Clubs, Plange I beleive could have left for a lot less at the end of the season, We've got him back if the reports are to be believed, Remember Marshall and Byrne from Wigan who we stole, Life aint fare when you're skint

As I mentioned on transfer thread - its not just us because of our position. The whole system stinks in favour of the PL - with all their funds lets them steal from lower clubs with minimal compensation. Needs sorting along with most other things in football finance. Chat re poor FFC earlier

Just been visiting a friend at the Derby Royal Hospital, I went past a private ward and heard a Nurse say "All will be well Christian" I stopped and looked in ? Wow, I said to the Nurse is that the footballer who scored the 2nd Derby goal yesterday.
A simple nod of her head confirmed it.

A really good comment from the BBC piece that @angieram posted above.
But as much as the march was an attack on those they feel have done their club down, this was really about the support of a football club. Thousands marched in support of their club. From the brow of the hill that goes over the railway line the snake of humanity stretched as far as the eye could see, forwards and back. There was no demographic. Male and female, old and young, middle-aged parents and stylish supporters in their early 20s.
Generations of fans made their point peacefully. All walking behind a banner proclaiming: "Founder Member of the Football League. 138 Years of Football Heritage. Save Derby County."

Damn you Derby County. I'm a middle aged man. It's unbecoming that you keep making me jump around like a lunatic and blub my eyes out.
It must be so boring supporting a normal club.

Sitting in Subways opposite the Megastore enjoying a coffee before driving home.
Not a great performance for much of the match but what a fantastic last few minutes and team spirit!
Always felt like a game we could get back into, especially when Birmingham made a number of substitutions and started looking quite nervy at the end.
What a difference that point could make come the end of the season.
Loving this team more with each passing week.
COYR!

Because of this march, my usual 1.9mile/30 min walk will be nigh on trebled!
I just hope the club acknowledges such sacrifices we fans make!
