Mine too. He flatly refuses to buy anything online as he thinks he will get scammed and when he goes in shops/pubs etc he wants to pay in cash

On a wider society scale there are a lot of people who simply don’t know how much they are spending and they simply can’t afford what they are spending and with cash you can see when it’s gone or going to be gone

I am going to try and get a ticket .. even with 8k in the ground I’d love just to be back. I want to see some lads in black and white in our ground. Need to remind myself what’s it’s like and 8k is hopefully enough to stop it sounding like the school trip to the swimming baths ?

We are also at the cricket, but would have otherwise gone to the game.
I can't believe people are moaning about the price after eighteen months without a live game of football.
Don't like it, don't go. Plenty will.

Betty Swollocks got a reaction from Ted McMinn Football Genius in Wycombe threaten to sue and send us into admin. if we stay up!
That`s all well and good, but if he sue`s and as a consequence he sends us into administration, he wont get a penny and will still have a legal bill to pay himself, which would obviously be counter-productive for Wycombe.
I`m filing this under "Nothing to see here"

Our ground is owned by Mel - Who is a Derby fan (and has shown that by pouring his money down the pipes trying to do good things for the club)
Coventry's ground was mostly owned by the council - Who decided they weren't in a position to keep doing them a favour
Our ground is owned by a chap who seems to indicate he's willing to do the club plenty of favours - So no doubt he'll provide a structured deal on rental based on game attendances (or something similar)
What about an exceptionally gifted brick?

Do you really think people would give a football club away if there isn't any debt?
We can't post our accounts until the EFL appeal is complete. If we posted our accounts using the same amortisation policy then get found guilty we will get more EFL charges. So we need to wait for the outcome so we can file the accounts correctly.

Rest of your post is just wild speculation of the worse case scenario without any facts to back it up.

    Rough transcription of interview
"Of course hardly a day goes by and we don't hear about another perspective of club takeover an early run we were talking about Darby County Mel Morris, the outgoing owner has reportedly sold the club to Spanish businessman Eric Alonso, but of course Derby fans and fans of other clubs always get a bit nervous these days when it comes to fit and proper and who is the gentleman who's coming in so in this case the question is.

Who is Derby's perspective new owner Eric Alonso well let's find out. Eric good morning,
EA - "hello good morning, how are you"
JW - "very good, thank you. Eric thank you so much for joining us live on talk sport. I'm with the the former owner of Crystal Palace who's with me every day. Simon Jordan fans will be listening in big numbers why Darby County, why did you want the club?"
EA - "The group history speaks by himself, you know, so I cannot say anything else there is a sleeping year and we hope we can bring there be back to all days, you know, the success is yeah and I I believe that"
JW - "you you're you're very into you're very keen sportsman yourself and of course you're also involved in the world of boxing as well as football is that right"
EA - "yeah like that's right yeah"
JW- "you you're a high profile people who work for you, it's my understanding you don't need to give me any detail but you come from a well a wealthy family in Spain."
EA - "You know, I don't like to talk at all about that, you know, but okay, we are we are okay"
    JW- "you're okay"
    EA-"let's say we're okay"
JW-"and then if you have a message for Derby fans before Simon says, hi what would the message to Derby County fans be?"
EA-"Normally what they say these yes don't trust my words but let me work, you know, I will prove my worth with say with my daily work so they will see what we do"
SJ- "what are your plans for obvious as you will know as a businessman that going into a football club will require a Derby has required a lot of funding from Mel Morris who I'm sure you know because you're buying the club from him or what what are your plans? Eric are your plans to invest significance amounts of money to push? Wayne Rooney and his management team to get Derby out of the championship into the Premier League.
EA- "What I see yesterday we will take a lot of work right there, as you know, football club needs a big investment yeah even more if you want to have a success so a step by step but what we want is success and try to go to a premier league as soon as possible like I say"
SJ - "Who's gonna run the club Eric do you have a lot of football operators around you who you're gonna put in to run it who's gonna be the chairman is that gonna be you?"

EA- "Yeah for now we are checking all the options. I have a lot of football people around me, you know, so yes, we will have a some someone who is very good and he is well now in world of football and he was also in real Madrid one of the biggest club in the world, so I'm sure the fans will not be disappointed"
JW - "and you are related as an Alonzo, are you related to Xavi Alonso is that the family?"

EA - "Yeah, he's his father it's family of my father. I'm not exactly the the length, you know, because we don't have a strong relationship but yes, we are we are family"
JW- "okay and Eric mentioned Wayne Rooney, do you look forward to having a close relationship with Rooney he's the man you want to be to be managing your club"
EA- "errrrr first of all we have to stay up in the league keep the position in championship but wayne rooney and all the players have my full support and I will back them up always."
JW- "What finally I like what would you say to Derby fans, can you convince them this morning that the club will be in safe hands with Eric Alonso?"
EA- "For sure there the the team is in safe hands, but as I said before, hey just don't trust my words yes allow me to work, you know."

JW - "Eric fair enough we thank you very much for coming"
EA - "can I just say where I say yesterday yeah and this is my message to all the fans first of all, I really appreciate all the message there they are sending to me because they are all always a good words and as I said the good times will return."

Thought the interview was fine said nothing new chose his words carefully. I took the impression there is far more behind him than he is letting on also quite good he played down the relationship with the more famous footballing Alonso's

    Some observations -
It looks like at points this thread was subject to a coup attempt to turn it into the politics thread.
Should the term WASP not now be considered a bit racist? Just asking.
If the bloke really is dubious I imagine he will be boiled alive by the Media and Social Media, and I would HOPE the EFL tests would flag him up.
I think Mel was great - he did his best to blast us into the Prem - it didn't work, mainly as we didn't get the rub of the green. Thanks Mel. I can't imagine he would sell us into a bad situation.
I will wait and see, I don't think the dice have stopped rolling yet.

Interesting - And somewhat reassuring to know he only follows the leader (who we all know from Uncle Nige can be fairly humorous figures_)
I'd also say from a political standpoint a lot of parties like the BNP have done well in the past by appealing to people on local issues - If they have one real issues which affects your personal life it's easier to 'support' them than the bigger parties who talk about tax reform, funding the right parts of the state, economic policy and societal values which are so lofty many can't get on board with them because they struggle to see how they affect day to day life (as quite often they don't)

Just looked through the list of who he follows, and Santi Abascal, the leader of VOX, is the only politician I could see. The list was made up 95% boxers, a few football related, and a couple of celebrities. Doesn't  look as though he's deeply involved in VOX. I know many people (and I mean many) who  agree with many things that VOX promote. When they first came on the scene there was a lot of interest. Obviously the ultra rights have attached themselves to the party as being the nearest to their thinking, but then many have attached themselves to Podemos, the most left wing of the popular parties. I imagine that like Podemos have done since taking some power by a coalition, VOX would change their tune once in power. As I said in a previous post though, I pay little attention to politics in general and am probably speaking out of the wrong orifice.

Interesting that he lists recruitment as something to look at. It is poor and overpriced recruitment by previous managers that are largely responsible for the recent financial position.

The couple of times I've heard him interviewed he's come across as an arrogant whotsit who loves the sound of his own voice. Not doubting his contacts and journalistic skills - just a bit too far up himself for my liking.....
