Like he said he has worked here with his arms and legs tied behind his back..so basically he has never been able to manage the way he would want to. Even players he brought in that were taking us to a miraculous survival were taken away to ensure our demise. 
I'm very excited about what he might do when he has the freedom to actually manage his squad.

I think if the finances are in place more will stay than people are thinking. A lot will fancy their chances of a quick return and playing under Rooney is a massive draw. Often players stay with relegated Prem teams, can't see us being any different. And if we keep a decent core group together plus adding Rooneys already identified targets I really believe we will take some stopping next season. Might take a few games to adjust, maybe not..but I'm sure we will be a major force.

All the very best for the coming season and beyond.I hope Rooney sticks by you with a decent owner on board he has a good a chance as anybody to get you back up.Your fans have been superb through this crap period.Things can change very quick in football and sometimes for the better, look at us in the so called best league in the world the Premier league for another season.Although my opinion of  the PL ( I’ve missed 2 games this season )is it’s the fatal attraction of clubs who risk everything to get to the tv cash when for us fans it’s a bland predictable bore fest unless you are a top 4 club the rest just make up the numbers.I won’t shed a tear when we eventually get back to the championship a far better and more competitive league to play in.Hope to be playing you at Pride Park again soon.

Positives for me ..just look at the teams doing well in League 1..the Rotherhams, Wigans, MK Dons...if Rooney gets to rebuild I really cannot see us struggling in a league where these clubs are setting the standard. We are not a relegation candidate team to start with so I'm hopeful that the future is bright.

He did say he will give some youngsters minutes later in the last 3 games in his presser.

Have to say I'll be disappointed if we bring any players 'home' other than Jags or Shinnie (who would have both still been with us this year if circumstances had been different)
We need players hungry to prove themselves - I'd much ratther Wazza went out there and found the right sort of players, rather than offer some ex-players a chance to begin their retirement....

Dawson actually spoke very well of us and our plight, sums it up well in that interview, need to get this cluster***k of a situation and season resolved and over. Move on and build back.
