Ruby has settled in brilliantly and has been playing with other dogs really well.
About a month ago I decided she would have a friend so took her back to the rescue I got her from to test walk her with some dogs. 
Today we bought Pippa home and they are already best friends.

I'm still not fully okay. I will admit things have got a little bit better now but things got a lot worse for me in the new year. When the festive period was over, I was able to speak properly to a mental health charity who dug a little deeper into what was triggering all this. Turns out, i had suppressed some trauma from my childhood so much that something inside me just snapped and bought all this emotional distress on. I was referred to the Crisis team who visited me at home a few times a week to check on my well being and to make sure i wasn't in any danger. I've now been signed off by these but have to wait 4 weeks until i can access CBT.
I've managed to do a couple of hours at work on the odd occasions, and i'm extremely thankful that my boss has been supportive throughout. 
I'm currently scheduled to have therapy sessions with 2 different charities as well as the fore mentioned CBT.
I'm by no means fixed and even as early as this morning i broke down in tears but i'm starting to edge towards slight normality. I'm now realising that there is help for me and the level of support i'm getting from my Girlfriend, Family and Friends is incredible. I feel like there's hope again. 

I was very much a cat man but loved the way Jack Russell’s looked, the thought of walks and picking up poo put me off for years, well not entirely the ex ex wouldn’t let me have one so that was that. 
When I moved into my own house, my own boss I told the girlfriend I’m getting a dog, decided the poo picking life was for me, she said no, I said yes, I won. It was my house!
5 minutes later I showed her this pic, said he was available now. Saw him on that website I posted earlier. 

An hour later I was in the car home

 
Never cried, not even a whimper, although you could see he nervous and no idea what was happening.
Next day though his ears folded forward and we’ve lived happily ever after. Just got a bit more spottier and nuts.

I know I started the debate about gif or gif but to be honest I pronounce it video!

Precisely the reason I've never bought a dog, despite having wanted one my entire life. It's a big responsibility and one that should be taken seriously. Maybe if there was more than one dog it might be a bit better, but leaving a puppy to it's own devices all day, every day, seems really unfair to me. 

Safe to say Ruby has well and truly settled in now! Dogs are for life guys ?
