A good post, however the reason I can't change to electric is a combination of both range and charging - if I have to go away from home for work, I can be away for several days - as I often work on customer sites and don't know the availability of charging at the customer site or any hotel I stay at, I need at least a (genuine) 400 mile range - not a problem with my 'horrible' (environmentally, relatively friendly Euro Cat6) diesel but a none starter for electric. Additionally, don't ignore the costs of replacing babtteries on older electric vehicles - somehting that's likely to have a major impact on re-sale values in a few years time.....

You make a lot of great points. The one thing I think won't be an issue though is space. We have space, just different spaces will be used vs. Filling stations. We will get used to charging in supermarket carparks, at work, in shopping centre car parks, at the cinema and so on. Any business that has a physical location where they want you to stop a while will be putting this infrastructure in over the next few years.

Who wouldn’t want an electric car. Fewer moving parts, Instant response, linear max torque and power across all throttle settings and speed. Silent, smooth. It’s brilliant. I’d even suggest that on the more expensive models that range has been sorted. Anything over 250 miles is comparable to Petrol engines a generation ago.

Charging points and access are one thing, yet for me the big issue is charging TIME. Unless that improves then the number of charging points doesn’t just have to be equal to the number of existing petrol pumps. It has to exceed it by an order of magnitude.
A conventional fuel pump can probably fill one vehicle say every 5 minutes. That’s 12 per hour. A charging point, if you’re lucky will do 1 per hour .. so with technology as it stands we need 10 times more electric charging points than we currently have petroleum pumps. … It’s huge ! The 4 you see at a Motorway service station will need to be 100 plus. (Unless we can charge quicker)
Both in scale and placement. It’s also the physical space needed and that’s before we get to supply cable laying.

    We live in interesting times.
Need to solve the time it takes to charge !

Why does last seasons form come into it? If we had won 3 out of 3 this season would you say we have won 4 in 18 or 3 out of 3?
And, if you do want to include last season, Forest are now 2 wins in 17 so pretty similar to us.

Last couple of games have been wonderful. Never seen a Derby crowd so willing to sing, chant and clap through every passage of play, good or bad. Not a moan or boo in sight. Top job South stand. .
Now all they need to do is pop down to their local DCFCfans forum for some great song suggestions ? …. We need new player songs. Ones with some celebration and “lift”

Chris Hughton, a name that has been mentioned on this board as an experienced manager we should/could have bought in after Cocu was fired, is doing really well at Notts Forest, 3 games in and the cognoscenti in the Trent End are screaming you don’t know what your doing and demanding he is fired after 3 games. My point is that any managerial appointment is a crap shoot and can end in disaster no matter what the length of managerial experience, therefore I would state categorically our manager is not doing badly as a novice.

If not for the 11 minutes of Gibson time at Peterborough we would now be top of the league, I for one am very happy with the current situation at the Rams

(All right ! Playground talk now ? )
RR’s only passenger vehicle engine in the 60’s was their standard 6.7 litre V8 but allowing for the futuristic setting and the technology of the day I suspect it’s motive power would have been a high efficiency Gas Turbine.
Rover had one that worked and Howmet Corp had a GT racing car that was surprisingly effective.

We need a Jim Smith topic on Supercar, Fireball, Space City, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO and the rest. ?

I never missed an episode ?
As an aside, A few years back I bought a Ford Focus, It's number plates had 3 digits along with others and were XL5, I bought it for £900 in the hope of selling the number plate, Got the V5 back and on it it said "number plate can not be sold seperately", Also it had a lowered suspension, My drive was on a slope so when driving on and off i'd scrape the sills, A couple of moths later sold for £350...ouch lesson learned.

Tough game this one, but they're not great at defending IMO so let's play the same way we did against Hull, use the speed and fluidity we showed there and we're in with a good chance of back to back wins.  I'd be more than happy to take a draw in all honesty but a win will be oh so satisfying if not just to see Warnock ranting and raving at the end for some deemed injustice and Gibson chewing on a lemon.

I don't get this 'life ends at 35' stuff. I wouldn't ever have classed myself as anything other than a moderate club runner, but I did manage 3 sub-3 hour marathons between the ages of 48 and 51 and a further 3 sub 3:06.
Depends how you look after yourself.

I take it that you’re not a cricket fan? Jimmy Anderson is the worlds highest wicket taking fast bowler with 626 wickets and a wizard at making a ball move in the air. You could argue that he is the greatest cricketer of all time if he could actually hold a bat.
