Hopefully Thompson gets pre-season minutes in midfield to stake his claim for a place in the matchday squads. 

Thought Chesterfield were a very good choice of opposition, not just a local team going through the motions but one looking to be competitive carrying on from last season who would approach it as close to a real game as you could expect at this stage, one of the more useful pre-season games we've had so well done whoever planned it.

Nice to see Thompson back in action. Seems to be in great shape and will give Warne some food for thought now. 
 
Good workout for the lads and nice to see we have some players up for a battle as early as preseason. Might come in handy in mid feb L1 fights!

Weird really. It’s a preseason friendly - all about building up match fitness etc where the result doesn’t really matter but is just me anxiously hoping we hold on for the win? 😀

Collins has played alright to be fair, put in a lot of effort as always & got on the score sheet. Missed a pen which was pretty casual.
Bird has been most impressive, hopefully Warne can get a good season out of him. Has all the attributes to boss this league, just needs to kick on this year.
