Massive thank you from me to all of you lot on this forum. This club has impacted my mood, it's given me highs and lows over the last 18 months but you lot have always cheered me up.
I've thought about binning this forum off, I've thought about binning football off entirely.
Two things changed my mind, taking my three year old daughter to a couple of games last season (she loved it and the thought of not being able to do that again was a killer), and this forum.
Perversely, it's all sparked the love of it all in me again and I cant wait to see where we go from here.
Thanks everyone. Me and my little one look forwards to attending games for years to come.

“As a private person I did not want the publicity and would prefer to remain an anonymous supporter watching from my usual seat. However, if that is the price to secure the future of the club then so be it”
This statement says it all. We are so lucky to have David Clowes as a supporter of his club. He may have done it reluctantly but he’s saved us. He may not stay around long but he will do the right thing by us, stablise us and if he cannot take us forward he will sell to someone who can. But that’s tomorrow.
We are forever indebted to him. This guy needs to be given freedom of the city, Pride Park stadium also needs to be named after him, he also deserves a statue. David Clowes will go down as one of the most important people in this clubs history.

A day as important as any in our history. Think we all knew we were on the brink but having had so many near misses & given how long the entire process had dragged, it feels magical to finally have closure.
The suffering this fanbase has had to experience for the sum total of one Championship playoff final defeat has been an absolute disgrace, particularly set against the blatant cheating from some of our peers who fluked the promotion we couldn't. Well done all for keeping sane during what has to rank as the most unfathomable combination of vindictiveness & incompetence experienced by a club of our stature. The fact we not only kept going but rallied in the face of such adversity just shows how bloody strong this club & its fanbase are.
Thank you David Clowes. As you rightly said in your incredibly humble & impressive opening statement, words are cheap & you want to be judged by your actions. And the fact is that by your actions, you have saved this football club & acted like the true DCFC fan you are. Whilst the majority of us will remember this when times are tough, lets be sure to remind the sack 'em all now/where's the ambition/celebrity obsessed berks that we seem to have amongst our number where we would be without him.
Oh, and to Quantuma, the EFL, Mel Morris, Steve Gibson, the other parasite & all the charming tinpot oppo fans who revelled in our misery last season. There's a lot of comeuppance coming down the track for most of you - I can't wait to see it

Ok. I dont post much but have spent more time on this thread than is healthy. Morning, noon, night, at work, at airports, in hospital and so on. The news is fantastic and I will be eternally grateful to DC for saving the club and allowing me and my boy to keep avidly following dcfc home and away. Means so much to us all. Just a massive thankyou to everyone who has endeavoured to keep posting every snippet of information, every relevent tweet, every update and making it easy to find everything in one place. In the main you have posted stuff on here way before it was picked up anywhere else and seconds after it was realeased.  I really  appreciate your efforts in keeping us updated and once again for playing ahuge part in supporting us all with witty comments, beer talk, absolute rubbish at times but I have felt amongst true fans on this forum and am so pleased we can look forward again. There will be better days ahead for us all.

Sorry if this has been mentioned but just to add, imagine how the non-playing staff must feel tonight.  Those in the ticket office, club shop, admin staff, etc.  They know they’re future is secure.  Hope you’re still bringing us RamsTV next season @Owen87ITK .

Took a bit of time out to gather myself, have a bath, listen back to Radio Derby and get a glass of my special occasion drink (White Peak Distillery cask rum, summit local). I hope everyone is having whatever it is they want to drink.
Can’t really add anything that hasn’t already been said. All my thanks for everyone’s efforts last season. From Rooney and Rosenior, the players and staff who kept the club going in the darkest days. You can all hold your head high for what you did.
The fans who did everything they could, from filling the stadium to organising marches etc etc. Also the supporters groups who tried to get answers.
The journalists who kept us informed as much as they could, this was a mess from start to finish and was impossible to report accurately on. Many lessons will be learnt but we should appreciate all their efforts from Nixon, Percy, @The Baron,Simon Stone and everyone else I’m forgetting about. Colin Murray, Dan Roan and the national journalists who gave #savederbycounty national coverage.
Special mention to Ed Dawes and Radio Derby, who has lived this far longer than any of us realise because Morris was in his ear with his mess 2-3 years ago. He didn’t get it right all the time, I’m sure he can admit that, but he stood up when it mattered and deserves a pat on the back from Derby fans. Also let’s not forget Chris Coles who after so much crap Derby related news deserves his little moment tonight too!
Team Derby! Forkin, the council and the MPs who helped keep this in the spotlight and did a lot of background work. They have helped create a huge positive day for the city.
Thanks to @David, @Boycieand all the moderators on the forum for all their work and giving us the platform. Special mention to @Animal is a Ram for giving us ‘up to the second’ updates (and all those who sought to beat him, yes you @RoyMac5). Thanks everyone for the laughs in here, at some of the most frustrating times they were some genuinely funny days in here that made everything a bit easier.
Finally, thankyou Mr Clowes. I hope despite inital reluctance this ends up being the best decision you ever make. I hope as fans we respect your privacy, but only after hearing your name being rang out by a sell out crowd on July 30th.
I’ve probably forgotten someone, despite going on worst than one of those popmaster contestants who won’t shut up and go away, but I’m tired and wanna finish my drink and read transfer rumours like a normal football fan, so apologies to anyone who is forgetten.
Have a great night everyone, it’s much deserved

One thing this period has taught us, us fans can influence matches at Pride Park. We have given the team proper undying support on the pitch, in 52 years I can't remember such an atmosphere of blind faith and no criticism. Let us all try to keep that going, even when matches are going against us.
The players were lifted by this support, they weren't nervous about making a misplaced pass and that gave them the confidence to perform above their supposed ability.
You didn't hear booing and murmers of discontent at PP last season, even the likes of Man City and Liverpool fans voiced their discontent on televised games at times last season.
So let us create our own brand of superfan and let it become known that Derby fans will back their team through thick and thin.

I’ve just read David’s open letter, what a brilliant communication from a lifelong Rams fan.
Don’t let Mel cloud your view of a fellow Ram owning our club, this feels good.
We are so United after last season, this season is going to be such a positive time after what we’ve been through and I can’t wait to get into Pride Park!

This needs to remain open if only to bump it every time we start getting ahead of ourselves and demanding big signings that we have no way of financing.
Or moaning that we didn’t want to break our self imposed wages caps, or being upset that we are giving too many youth a chance, or generally forgetting what an absolute mess a thoughtless custodian can cause to our great club.

Things have been bleak, dark, horrid, frustrating, infuriating….leading to uniting, euphoric and amazing.

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Let’s never forget those dark days and the causes, that led us to uniting as a fan base and the feeling we have now of being literally ‘saved’ as a club from an almost reluctant buyer rather than ‘purchased’ as an ego boost for some investor.

Thanks as always David for providing such a platform. You lost out as others did but kept this going and it became a massive help for many of us through the time.

The most complicated football administration in history, other insolvency practitioners said it was near impossible and they wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.
Yet here we are, clean out the other side in less time than its taken other, less complicated administrations to be resolved, with no lingering issues such as stadium ownership, paying off our dues over 3 years etc etc, and good, if not entirely comfortable time to plan for the season ahead.
No need to worry about paying a landlord rent on our home ground, no sword of Damacles hanging over our head in regards to further points deductions, a clean and clear exit from administration, which has looked unlikely from the off.
Maybe Quantuma knew what they were doing all along, after all we've exited administration in the best possible shape we could have hoped for?
    Great job, guys.

So so tired, and emotional. I was driving when it was announced, poor Ed Dawes sounded in bits. This forum has certainly seen some highs, lows and wild opinions but I think we've all helped each other get through it. Hopefully I can get my season ticket now and start booing at the first misplaced pass...

I'm sure others have said as much.... I can't be bothered to go back through the responses.... Too busy drinking a bottle of red wine ??. I'd just like to say a massive.....no... A fecking massive thank you to the legend that is Mr David Clowes, Thank you for saving our club, for relieving us all of this collective stress. You sir are an absolute diamond.

Let's be clear here as well to our magnificent fan base what a huge financial commitment and risk this gentleman has undertaken. Expectations reset everyone, survival is key. I'm sure he'll get the business model right. Let's enjoy the moment and here's hoping we get to laugh in Gibson's face sooner rather than later.... I can't be bothered with Wycombe, they are a non entity...

    So...
I went to the shop shortly after the announcement to grab some 'celebration juice' for tonight and met a guy in a Derby shirt holding a 4 pack of Bud and asked him if he was celebrating as well.
    'Celebrating what?'
    'Takeovers done mate'
    'Seriously?'
    'Yeah, just been announced'
He then puts the 4 cans back on the shelf and picks up a box of 24 ?
If you're on the forum mate, have a great evening!!!
