Not risking him in a meaningless game, either for a transfer to get funds in or to make sure that he doesn't get a stupid serious  Thorne type injury.

They are allowed to get another job after they finish their playing career, you know. Most of us have to work for over 40 years to make enough money to last a lifetime not 10 years.

It depends on the new owners philosophy. If they go down the road of cheap tickets and more fans through the door, then it could possibly go over the 20k mark.
I seem to remember Bradford selling multi year season tickets at a cheap price and they enjoyed fantastic attendances in lg2.

I agree Utch. That support and noise rivalled our great European nights at the BBG. It shows that PP can be as atmospheric as the BBG when we all put our minds and voices to it. Tonight was a special night. One to remember.

It's quite a simplistic view to say that we were losing £7M per year then and comparing the situation with now. So many things have changed and the club and football going forward are 2 totally different beasts now. In 2012/13 season we lost £7M which was accounted for in net transfer fees and associated costs, I think that transfer fees will be a thing from the past for the next few years. Also, whilst costs were 'low' under GSE, they were still far higher than many in the championship with players wages probably still inflated from our brief trip to the Premier. Also registered as a loss in those accounts is a sum of around £2M to 3M for depreciation, which is kind of invisible.  Also those figures were when the club had a turnover of around £15M which has since increased to £30M pre-covid.
Other more successful championship clubs are run on far lower costs than we are and I'm sure that prospective owners will feel that they will be able to trim down our costs, the major one being players' wages. In the past any player negotiating a contract would point to other players' wages within the club and would want them matching or bettering, in the future we will have few players to start with, so a new lower wage structure will have to be shared by all.

We never questioned the title of ITV's sunday highlights programme back in the seventies. 'Star Soccer'. Commentator, Hugh Johns would describe Derby players playing in white shirts, dark blue shorts and white 'stockings'!

My argument isn't flawed, maybe MM's is though. I can understand him begrudging another rich person getting the stadium on the cheap, in his opinion.
£20M is cheap, if you consider the cost of building a modern stadium, that needs very little spent on it to host premier league football. On the most recent ground completion, Brentford's new ground with half the capacity cost £71M and Everton's new ground with a 53,000 capacity has a projected cost of £500M. So, yes I can see why MM might feel that he's 'giving' the ground away at £20M.
As you say, he is the reason that he's in this situation, but doesn't stop him wanting to limit the damage, just as one of us getting the sack for gross misconduct and having to sell your home, we wouldn't like to sell it for a fraction of it's worth, even though we're in that position because of our own actions, like MM is.
