It does need to happen by tomorrow though, otherwise we go into 2 bank holiday days on Thursday and Friday, which means it'll be another 'next week' scenario.

You nearly gave me heart failure, please change the title to something like 'King Kev at the Neptune'.
We've lost a lot of top 70's footballers recently and I feared that the king had joined them from looking at the title of the topic.

You were one of the many who underrated Carsley then, I think that over the last few years we could have done with a 'Lee Carsley' or a 'Darryl Powell'. Two key players who did the grafting, allowing flair players more time to do their stuff.

And Wolves links with the Portuguese. They're not transgressions though, because they are legal. They shouldn't be though and the EFL and  PL should put a stop to it or at least prevent transactions between clubs linked together. Would it be any surprise to find Ebosele playing for Watford next season, no, the transaction was just a way of avoiding paying Derby a fair sum. Look at the Portuguese world cup players that played on loan at Wolves when they got promoted, how can that be right?

I have to disagree with this point. Without the loss of around £20M+, Derby wouldn't have been going into administration when they did. Put it this way, had a fairy godmother given Derby £20M the day before they went into administration, I think that they would have continued to trade normally, maybe it would have only delayed things for some months/years, if trading had continued at previous levels but COVID (a force majeure) was ultimately the deciding factor on the decision at that time.
Other clubs situations are irrelevant, other clubs may have better finances and/or owners with deeper pockets.

Until a new owner is in place, you can't sell any season tickets.  The new owner will want to decide at what price to pitch the season tickets, whether to offer them at a bargain price to get the fans through the door or maybe a higher price to help fund team building.

So Liverpool sell him for anything over £2.5M and they'll be in profit and we lose, they'd get more than that if they were to sell their tea lady/man.
If CK was anywhere near buying this club, surely he wouldn't have allowed such bad business, this just smacks of desperation from the administrators and has to be a very worrying sign, sadly.

One poster said that he'd been spotted at Celtic, that would be a good move for him, playing for an attacking team against mainly inferior opposition to show off his talents and playing in the champions league, what's not to like?

It's not that simple to define worth, you have to take into consideration so many factors, value of assets, future income, future resale value, etc. £30M would be a bargain if in a couple of years we were back in the premier, Luton have gone from a far worse position than us to the brink of the premier. Personally I wouldn't swap a family photo on my wall for a Picasso, but there are many out there who would gladly pay millions for something that many artists could easily replicate, based purely on what some person would be willing to pay for it in the future.
As for the contentious issue regarding the value of the ground, £20M is indeed a bargain when comparing with the building costs, Brighton's ground of a similar size and specification cost £91M to build and that was 11 years ago, I would imagine that the current building costs for a Pride Park would be a minimum of £150M. Everton's new ground is costing around £100M per 10,000 capacity, to give you an idea.

He's the player that I least expect to stay, he'd have to take the biggest wage drop of the whole squad and would probably get the best contract elsewhere. Add to that what little chance of gaining a potential place in the national team wouldn't be best served playing Lg1 football.
I'm not that sure that his game would be suited to Lg1, either.

The EFL will instruct us to pay the players no more than the minimum wage of £10 per hour x 90 minutes per week, which will equate to £15 per week or £30 per week, if we have a midweek game. ?
