With the gaps to show how threadbare we are:
    1. David Marshall (GK)
    2. Nathan Byrne (taking Wisdom's number)
    3. Craig Forsyth
    4. Graeme Shinnie
    5. Krystian Bielik
    6.
    7. Kamil Jozwiak
    8. Max Bird

    32.
    33. Curtis Davies
    34. Jack Stretton (Had 39 last year)
    35. Louie Watson (Had 40 last year)
    36. Festy Ebosele (Had 29 last year)
    37. Kornell McDonald
    38. Jason Knight

    40. Isaac Hutchinson
    41. Eiran Cashin (Had 22 last year)
    42. Liam Thompson (Had 43 last year)
    43. Dylan Williams
Byrne replaces Wisdom at 2 which implies Wisdom is going.
Connor Dixon, Tyree Wilson, Jordan Brown, Harrison Solomon and Ola Ibrahim lose their squad numbers. Brown is a surprise.
Only WIlliams given a number for the first time.
24 players in total. New signings aside, we have 4 who have never been on the pitch for us in a competitive game (exc. Chorley) and 2 more who have played less than 45 minutes combined.

Well seems sensible to give him the opportunity to find a new deal elsewhere, he did have a good Euros.

    If:
    1. We beat the Trees twice
    2. See Cashin, Williams, Sibley, Bird and others progress and become better footballers
    3. Beat Boro and make Gibson cry and mess up his perm
    4. Play some good football
    5. Score some good goals
    6. Win a few matches
    7. See some dignity and pride restored
    8. Dont get relegated
Then for me it will have been a good season. That'll do me.

I'll reserve judgement till the end of August I think.
If there are no more signings and this is our squad for the rest of the season then we'll be cut adrift in the bottom 3 by Christmas.
If somehow things can get sorted and we can sign Morrison, Aluko (Not fussed about Baldock) and somehow manage to get Mengi, Delap and Garner in then we'll be absolutely fine and comfortably mid table. Not to mention getting Bielik and Knight back around Oct/Nov.
At the minute though I can't see how on earth that happens.
But one way or another these accounts have got to be submitted by the 18th. So we'll probably know more then.

People need to realise this isnt a choie of Stearman over Jagielka, a 3rd keeper over a striker etc - it will be we have signed the only free agents willing to accept 4.5k or lower.
Hopefully we have paid HMRC so it's a case of waiting for the EFL to remove that embargo, once they do we can sign all the other triallists on wages up to 11.5k. So it is now down to whether we have paid & just waiting for HMRC to process/confirm so the EFL remove the embargo, if that is the case the triallists may be happy to wait a little longer. If we haven't paid then I don't see them hanging around for much longer.

Probably because all the decent triallists will want more than 4.5k a week so we have signed the only one's willing to accept that type of wage.

Right. I’ve had time to let the disappointment sink in (we’re all used to it now). My positive spin to get us through the weekend… you don’t have to agree.
Weve signed some players to fill out the first team for the first fixtures. A couple of experienced CBs and a goalie who is decent enough back up.
The transfer window is still open for the rest of the month and we have to get this embargo stuff sorted in the next week or 2. Once that is done we are hopefully able to sign more players with less/no restrictions.
These signings aren’t the end of our transfer window, there is still time to add more quality (which we desperately need) in time for the window closing.

Imagine EFL wouldn't budge on weekly wages. If we can only pay £4.5k a week or whatever it is, imagine the more decent trialists could earn more in league one!
