So, while Mike Ashley was swinging his bat around on the sidelines, David Clowes has padded up, gone out to the crease and smashed a six off the first ball. 

Owning the stadium puts him in a very strong position to complete a takeover, even the most sceptical among us must be able to see that. It means the MSD loan and Morris’ involvement is finally reduced also, so if Clowes doesn’t take the club on (which seems unlikely given the statement saying they’re launching a bid) it should make facilitating a takeover with another party more straightforward. It’s a good news day folks, we’re a massive step closer to the club being saved! ?

I think right now we just need anyone to take us over and get us out of admin, even if he ends up selling up in 1-2 years time I would think/hope it would be with us in a better position

For the first time since it all started to unravel and Mel's pack of cards started to tumble, i am feeling hopeful. the bloke goes about his business quietly, is a supporter, it all seems to make sense for once. In an ideal world he buys the stadium so MM has got nothing to do with DCFC. Quantuma can go back to their shiny offices, WR can put together a team without the sh1te he has to put up with and we can all go back to see 22 blokes chasing a bag of air around a patch of grass.

It's worth bearing in mind that perhaps David Clowes never intended to own DCFC, but has been moved to step in after the collapse of other bids, the non-appearance of meaningful bids from other PR-hungry interested parties and the very real prospect of liquidation. Whatever, if he's seriously close to having a bid accepted that is acceptable to the preferential creditors, the EFL and that will also reunite the stadium with the club, what more could any of us want at this point?

I'm sorry, but it feels like if a consortium of Rooney, Clough and Wanchope made an offer people would be critical.  I have a bottle of bubbly, and if this is confirmed it is going into ice.  I, frankly, don't care who the new owner is - so long as WE survive. 
This guy doesn't own Sports Direct, he is not an American charlatan, he has his wealth in the UK, so no US money laundering.  He actually supports the club.  We might be adrift in the ocean, but we have just spotted a small vessel with the British Ensign.  
Nothings done until there is ink on paper, but at least the printer is going to being switched on.  

If clowes is basically putting his money up to save the club and give others a chance, say a year, to get their house in order to buy him out, then that will do for me.
If he is doing it for a long term rebuild, and multi year ownership, then that will do for me.
Always been about the club surviving. It was clear about 2 or 3 months into this situation thst we would come very close to going under and not existing.
The fact thet someone, anyone, is willing to attempt to clean up the mess the club is in is, quite frankly, astonishing and shouldn't be overlooked.

Can’t believe THIS …. Sent my dad the SSN tweet and he came back and said “yeah I was talking to someone yesterday at my golf club and they said it’s close”.
The one time I could of been ITK and he didn’t even bother to tell me!!! 

So Talksport say its not MA whose deal is very very close & now Chris Coles stating AA bid hasnt been sent to the EFL.
Well we know some bids have been sent to the EFL as confirmed by both Q & EFL so its interesting if the bids havent been submitted by MA or AA, rumoured bids for them 2 hsve been 40-50m so any bids submitted are surely also in this region & better than those offers

Does not sound like Appeleby's bid was one that was sent to the Efl. 
Chris Coles said on RD there are elements of the bid that Q are not happy with. 
 
 
 

Yeah, terrible advice. You're right, he should reject that 5 year contract on offer at Palace, where he will either get loaned out to a championship club or perhaps get some chances in a premier League team. Instead he should take the 1 or 2 year offer from a League 1 club he's been at for a season, for probably significantly less money.
I'm as frustrated as others are that we're losing players we've helped develop and given a chance to, but suggesting he's making a bad decision for his career is ridiculous.
