Dembele had a really impressive season at Blackpool and looked a real handful in the game at PP.
OK, he’s unproven at a higher level, but look at how someone like Whittaker adapted to a higher level, so it could be a similar trajectory.
Dembele definitely has the skills that make him able to scale up and be just as dangerous at a higher level.
We need a player who can play centrally as well as on both flanks, so this looks a great fit!

Nixon has always had contacts in clubs in the North (particularly Wigan). He's like a lot of these journalists - he gets fed information by agents/parties to the players and shares it.
That information he's being given is also necessarily true. Agents do this sort of thing all the time to try and manoeuvre their clients moves/better contracts.

Apart from the fact that Thompson doesn’t really do okay. I know he’s ‘one of our own’ and gives 100%, but, other than running around a lot, he’s mid League 1 level at best.
I might get some heat for this view, but be honest, are you happy on the first day of the new Championship season with Thompson in the starting 11, if that’s where we are at, be honest 🤷‍♂️
Again, I’ve no axe to grind with Thompson, he’s clearly Derby through and through and should make a living from the game, but I fear not a player that is going to help us break into the top end of the Champ.

He’s 29, never played below the Championship and had 3 seasons as a fairly regular PL player, albeit for a poor PL side.
For a side coming up from League One, he would be an excellent signing. Experienced at this level without being too old, versatile to cover at least 2 positions that we need to strengthen. If he’s willing to come, it’s a no-brainer for me.

Although I think Brown is a great prospect, one has had Prem experience. Been learning from a great Prem striker in Antonio. 
Played in Europe and scored. Been in the England set ups up to under 20’s. 
 
He’s definitely more Championship ready. And what’s to say they couldn’t play together anyway? Although I personally think Brown could benefit from a league 1 loan

It's a hindsight deal. If we offer him a deal and he gets another long term injury everyone will jump on the club and management as we knew his injury history.
However, if and it's a huge if he gets fit, stays fit and plays regularly he could be a huge player for a club at our level. If we don't offer him a deal and he goes to another championship club, stays fit and bangs a load of goals in everyone will jump on the club and management saying we should have signed him.
It's the toss of a coin.
If it was me and the wages were right I would give him a chance as part of  a team of four strikers in the squad.

Fwiw, I think Sibley needs to move on. He's played under a fair few managers here and nobody has picked him consistently. Even in his supposed best position as a number 10, if he ever got to play there, he might have one decent game and then that's it for a while.
I actually think that LWB spot he's found himself in actually suits him and possibly his best position imo.
