Nobody going to mention the difference that Korey smith made replacing max bird? His vision and ability to find a forward pass won us that game. He was brilliant for the 15minutes he was on the pitch. Should be looking to start him in that position. He makes things happen.

Hourihane should have buried that last chance just before whistle. Straight at keeper though. We’re definitely the better side so far. But its looking all too familiar. First half we’re all over them. Second half they’ll come out and give us a match. Someone wins by the odd goal.

On the fence if we're really really unlucky not to score each week or just pony at shooting, how long can we put it down to bad luck? Floodgates will open following this 2-0 win!

Barks should carry on trying to find that pass and not shoot.

Hoppo reacted to Big Trav in Jake Rooney
If yesterdays performance is anything to go by, Jake will be spending more time with the first team squad than the 21s

A few stand outs for me.
Rooney looks like he has been playing mens footy for 10 years or more. I like him a lot, that number 34 shirt fits him nice.
Knight is a baller, great to see him further up field and played well.
Sibley proved if you play him he can win games.
Dobbin is class.
David McGoldrick, I honestly thought he was outstanding today, I really hope he stays fit.

An excellent result.
Irrespective of our chances in this competition, winning becomes a habit, hopefully a goal and a clean sheet carries the momentum into the league.
Caught between wanting someone else at this level to boost our chances of progression, or a juicy away tie to top up the coffers.

How sad it is to hear George Thorne as the pundit on Radio Derby.
In a parallel universe, he should have left us a few seasons ago, after playing his part in consecutive top 10 PL finishes, to secure his World Cup spot ahead Qatar this winter.

I went to Newcastle to watch the Rams once, can’t remember anything about the game except the tin man taking a corner and Mark Wright nodding a one nil win.
Happy days.

Hoppo reacted to Big Trav in At the start of something big?
We’ve gone from spending millions and expecting to get promotion to the prem with each year adding more and more pressure/ expectation and this sometimes created a toxic atmosphere. For us to now have a bunch of lads who love the club and being here and who you know will put 110% in every minute which is also reflected in our fans who are known generally as some of the best in England these past couple of seasons. The feel good factor right now is amazing

Apart from a handful of wind up merchants on FaceBook who are doing a great job of upsetting the locals on the L1 banter page there, there seems to be a contentment. We still have a club being the biggest factor to that. We also have an owner who is a proper fan, North Stand ST holder for years. Also a proven businessman who has grown his late dad's business. He says he wants stability and sustainability. I take that to mean he's not going to spend money the club doesn't have. That's brilliant. It would mean we'd never have to go through the mangle of possibly going out of business ever again. We have a manager who seems to have things organised. What he's done, along with his staff, turning a a 5 man squad 5 or 6 weeks ago, into a squad of 20 odd players who look like they will entertain and maybe even threaten the top few. Time will tell if that will happen. Bit by bit, the pieces are slowly clicking into place. Top half by Christmas would give us a good go at making top 6 or better, aided and abetted by a couple of tweaks to the squad. Looking at the squad we seem to have at least 2 players vying for most positions. Will it be sufficient to be successful this season? We will have to wait and see.

Surprised Rolls Royce haven’t done it before. There must be a huge untapped market of football fans unsure of where to buy their jet engines from who would surely be swayed by seeing the logo on the shirts of a third tier club on ITV4. Especially seeing as Rolls Royce is a brand virtually nobody has heard of before.
