Honestly she's my MP and I've never thought much of her until now. She's actually engaged with it in a way that constituents expect and I'm glad to hear she was already engaged with it months ago with conversations with the EFL.
Some of the wider support feels..."late to the party" maybe? Glad for it nonetheless but sounds like she is different and has actually been involved for a while.

Really worth a listen to both MPs. MB very passionate and sounds like she will stop at nothing now to take this on. She felt personally insulted by the EFL due to conversations they’d previously had behind the scenes.

So she expected to hear from them if there were problems & that they haven’t acted in good faith with her
    that they’re on Middlesbrough’s side
so she’s written to the minister
she feels there’s levers for government- shouldn’t be standing idly by while we’re put out of existence

Curtis spoke really well as he always does, he made reference to the EFL saying they’ll do whatever they can to help and called it “laughable”….what a legend he is

As @Ghost of Clough said, it would be good to see a time line  of this whole saga with appropriate quotes from the the EFL during the whole process.
Remember this started with Mel trying to level the playing field by skirting around FFP issues by smart business practice. (not defending him) There were no rules in place against what we did with amortisation. They were signed off as OK for three years. After Mcguires intervention we got hauled before the EFL and found guilty of a communication breech only. We got a £100k fine. They were "disappointed" and appealed. Etc etc etc.
I have a strong sense of fair play but what has happened, including the embargoes and everything else needs laying out fully so those trying to help us understand just how corrupt the EFL are.

and this was all presented by Bausor the CEO of MFC - and an EFL Board member!!!
The EFL have seemingly dealt with the conflict of interest issue by saying MFC are excluded from discussion of those issues and don’t get to see EFL internal papers on those discussions. That’s standard practice and difficult to dis-prove.

The nub is the cases being brought by Gibson and WWFC. It’s very disingenuous of the EFL to say MFC think they have a valid case so who are we to think otherwise and intervene.
We need legal expertise plus MPs to be directed to examine that because that’s where all the deception is. That’s the heart of it.

    Holy poo!
I can’t believe they addressed this in a statement, completely unprompted!
So unprofessional and another example of EFL gaslighting!

When all of this is done and dusted, I can't wait for the independent inquiry starting from the very beginning.
From us changing amortisation policy, it being approved by the EFL, stadium sale, stadoum sale profit being approved, the decision to revisit the accounts, the charges, the choice of experts to justify the charges, the makeup of the LAP, the constant delays, being "dissapointed" at outcomes and "regret" over being unable to appeal, and then the recent mess over the last few months.
There should only be one outcome from all of that...

    This.
The fact that a governing body was "disappointed" at the outcome of an independent disciplinary body that they recognise should be the grounds for legal action to prove our case if the bar stewards finish us.

Never forget their statement after we got the £100k fine.
When they were "disappointed" at the outcome and "regrettably" could find no grounds to appeal it.
That would be after going through their own disciplinary processes, the processes that are written in the rules, the processes we are all supposed to have faith in coming to the correct conclusion, they still weren’t happy at the outcome and wished they could find a way to punish us further as they didn’t think it was enough.
Well, well done EFL, you found a way.
    What an absolute disgrace.

The point is there would be zero need for Admin to provide proof of funding till the end of the season if the club came out of administration and became the responsibility of new owners who have separately provide their own proof. But the EFL are refusing to allow that to happen and instead trying to force a fire sale before the end of the window to ensure we won't be able to compete. With one breath they say "rules are rules" when their own insolvency rules say it's entirely at their discretion. With another breath they say they can't intervene in claims between member clubs, yet they also say they've invited all parties in for comment. If they're being honest then their claim is if they don't force Derby to be liquidated, Middlesbrough might sue the league which then might see the EFL being finished. I wish what I thought of the Bamfords would make it past the swear filter.

Said it earlier Roy, forget political colour, you don’t want her to be your adversary in a debate, she’s not the sort of person that suffers fools or will back down. Actually think, she’s just the sort of probing politician we want on the case, she won’t be fobbed off easy and if she can see b.s from the EFL, I’d expect her to really get stuck into them.

As an afterthought strange that a respected MP Margaret Beckett who has been deputy prime minister today stated that the EFL are telling her different things today from what they told her at the start of administration. Reading their spun comments the EFL are rattled

No specific mention of the Admin plan they turned down.
There's no funding in place because we didn't need it as Admin were going to name a PB. The PB could be named because the new insolvency laws allowed creditors to be ring-fenced and dealt with separately. But this was turned down by the EFL.
And round we go. The EFL are acting against statute in turning down the Admins plan but have put us up against the wall with funding demands and little time.

Complete word salad from the EFL. All their statement boils down to is, it's not our fault we're just following the rules.
Rules that they have continually changed and reinterpreted to suit their own agenda.

Usual spin from the EFL….but they are hardly going to admit the vendetta are they…?…didn’t their previous statement say claims against other clubs were against their statutes, but they still allow Boro and Wycombe to pursue DCFC to delay any exit from Admin till we are done for, with differing motives : EFL our certain relegation, Wycombe chancing to earn a few million £, as for Gibbo maybe our liquidation………I just hope people don’t fall for this latest EFL spin….

Para 5 is important. It says that Boro first made their claims 12 months ago, suggests that WW were more recent (though it doesn’t say so). Only last week have the EFL decided that they should seek submissions to try to bring an end to the impasse. Incompetents.
And then later they confirm that the potential value of the claims is unknown and then suggest that the bidders are being unreasonable by not progressing without that knowledge.
The statement reeks of incompetent inaction from an incompetent organisation. We can only hope that the public and political pressure will allow them, however late in the day, to do what they should have done in the beginning - create an arbitration process that allows for a decision to be reached that keeps one of their members in competitive business. Quickly.

Well you can see that statement's been rushed, to say the least!
Some of it we already know:
We have people willing to become a PB if a decision can be made regarding the 'Boro/Wycombe claims (paraphrasing there, obviously). Some points just beggar belief:
"Integrity of the competition"... how does effectively forcing us to sell all of our players stand alongside this? Will any teams that we've already taken 4-6 points off this season have a claim against the EFL? Also to have sections titled "Is the EFL acting unlawfully", "Is there a conflict of interest..." and "Does the EFL have a vendetta against Derby County"; this just shows how badly this whole affair has been handled. As has been mentioned by others before, a 10pm statement like that comes across as if they're scared... keep up the pressure people, it's working.

The fact that they can’t categorically say that their regulations comply with current legal statutes says it all.

There is a clear difference of opinion between competing parties as to the correct application of our Articles and Insolvency Policy and that needs resolving.
