I really don’t get all this talk of Warne out and we must get up this season.  A look back at the last few seasons shows that teams rarely bounce straight back up to the Championship.  And of the perceived “big clubs” such as Sunderland, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland took 4 seasons, Ipswich are in their 4th season and Sheffield Wednesday their 2nd.  I know some will say we shouldn’t compare ourselves to other clubs, but my point is it’s by no means an easy league to get out of and name, reputation and history count for very little.
And no club has had to cope with the challenges we’ve had coming out of administration.  To be in the top 6 near the end of March is a great achievement.  It will take a long time to recover as we really need to build everything back from the ground up.  I watched on Rams TV and briefly caught a piece about the women’s team and they talked about the effect of administration on them and how they were lucky to keep players.  We may talk about being lucky to have a club but effect of one bald man’s actions have had a wide ranging effect on DCFC at all levels.  You don’t come back from that quickly.

    Hey lads,
Posh fan here. Just wanted to chip in as have seen some interesting comments on this thread.
I’ll start with saying that in the first half you absolutely played us off the pitch. Most dominant performance from the opposition I’ve seen since forever probably. And I saw us ship 4 against Blackburn away in the first half last season! I was actually taken aback which is a rare thing at this level. Which begs the question are your forwards the issue? I thought Derby were quite powderpuff up front at Pride Park - we just couldn’t hang on with 10 men after a bad sub from our former manager. Same in this game despite playing us off the park.
Second half - looking on this forum and Derby Twitter a lot of you seemed to have admitted defeat going into HT at 0-0 which was quite puzzling to us given what we saw from you. Why do you think this is a common thing with you? We had the same habit last season and ultimately got us relegated (especially in last 10 minutes). We’ve won 20 but lost 15 so we’re unpredictable.
I saw someone mention earlier going to the Royce pub and they thought it was a nice coincidence. Sir Henry Royce of Rolls-Royce was from Peterborough (Alwalton). Nice little fact for you.

As for the ‘Peterborough being a dump’ comments, you’ll rarely find a Peterborian that would disagree with you. The irony of our nickname isn’t lost on us! The identity comments are interesting too - you’ll find Peterborough fans that sound completely different. We get a lot of support from South Lincs/Rutland/Northants. As soon as you go East of Peterborough it becomes Fenny (comboyn ‘arvisturr’). Then you’ve got the ‘London overspill’ descendants that follow us. The “only club where the home fans will sing Peterborough is a s******* I want to go home” comment on here made me laugh - it doesn’t get sung but a lot of our support is from outside of the city. So you’re not far wrong.

I’ll wrap up with advice for future visits. If you go to Drapers (the Spoons) you’re going to get herded to the ground probably. Same thing happens with Cambridge/Northampton/Leicester/Forest etc. Brewery Tap is popular (across the station). Multiple on Oundle Road as well leading to the ground. Charters (the barge on the Nene) a fan favourite as well - just buy multiple at a time as it gets packed.
Interesting to read your thoughts. You definitely seem a more intelligent bunch than Forest fans haha.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Thankfully been out all day so only had to catch up on the petulant rage in here and not live it minute by minute as it happened.
    Biggest take aways;
Warnes crap for not changing things at HT (when we were putting in one of the best performances of the season away from home).
Play Rooney and Thommo who have been liabilities more than reliable when playing this season.
Can’t be arsed to read anymore. This threads a farce. You’d think we’ve actually had a good team and good football to watch for the majority of the past two decades considering the opinions in here. Entitled b*******.
No doubt Warme and the team can do better. But f****** hell. Have a word.

Results aren’t going well so people are looking for someone to blame. Naturally the manager is going to get it, it’s always the most obvious target. We question his tactics, the same tactics we won 6 in a row with and while drawing with Wednesday putting up a performance that on another day would’ve beaten them. We question his in game tactical changes, Peterborough changed and started controlling the game why didn’t Warne react? React with what? What formation and what personnel changes could’ve changed what happened in the second half? A rapid powerful centre forward of the bench maybe? We have a 33 year old target man to replace or play with a 35 year old. We’ve played all season without a right back, with one natural centre back two ageing centre forwards, taking Knight out of squad today then leaves us with minimal midfield options. It’s looking like the season is taking its toll on some players now sadly, but seriously what did people expect?
At some point the excuse of only having 5 players into a short preseason and nearly not having a club will no longer be valid, but it is absolutely 100% valid this season. We’ve done well to be where we are and hopefully we can get in the playoffs (we still have a great chance of this btw) and then anyone has a chance in the playoffs. But most people thought this would take 2 years. We are not one of the three best teams in this league.
As for today, excellent first half but we lacked belief in the final third and it cost us massively. They score on a counter attack with first shot of the game - white pressed well won the ball but Bird and Hourihane were too slow backing him up allowing them to pick us off and hit us on the counter. Poor defending and keeping for second I think although Sun was in my eyes. Looked a pen on White and he was unlucky not to score. Bird and Hourihane who were outstanding first half were chasing shadows in the second. Cash and Foz struggled second half, Dobbin’s end product continues to frustrate, Mendez going off the boil and think he got a kick as well. Players to emerge with credit in my view are White who was excellent, Roberts and I thought both Sibs and Collo did well coming off the bench.
We can question team selection and subs and tactics. Thought Warne got it right with how we played first half, we didn’t have the belief to get the goal, we then concede and didn’t have enough to get back in it with players who are running out of steam and a lack of sub options which are all much of a muchness.
We need to start winning at home, we do that and pick up one win on the road that should be enough.

    Fine margins.....
Thought we we good first half apart from overhit/badly placed crosses resulting in few chances.
Their goalie makes a great save from White, Wildsmith could've done better with both of their goals (but kept us in it at 1-0).
Live, I thought White dived. Just seen replays on highlights and it's a defo pen.
1-1 with a momentum shift for us and we could have been in Port Vale territory.

Knowing a situation and being able to effectively navigate it aren’t guaranteed.
This is not going to be a quick win, even if we manage to go up through the play offs this season we will be at a disadvantage, that’s why it’s about context and perspective not an excuse. We are not yet able to compete in the same way as other clubs off the pitch. Warne’s appointment was part of that process, this summers recruitment will be another part of that.
Say Clowes does part ways with Warne now, then we have to find another manager, potentially the back room staff who have been added with the longer term project in mind have to change, potential transfer targets become the wrong people for what we want, as rubbish as this situation is currently, changing things now for the sake of it will make it worse. We are not going to get relegated, we might or might not get promoted, another season at this level won’t destroy anything or cause any major problems to anyone’s lives other than having to visit a few more clubs and stadiums without the facilities of some champ clubs.
I appreciate your view on the whole thing but I genuinely think people need to find a way to temper their disappointment and expectations, keep perspective of the club’s situation for a little while longer. If next season continues to be inconsistent in this same way I think that’s a little fairer to question.

Not seen the game and disappointed like everyone by the result and recent downturn in form. But not surprised. I am surprised we are in the playoff positions and even at one stage were looking at a long shot for the automatic places. With the transfer restrictions we started the season with some young players nobody else wanted, some old players free to a good home and some untried young players other clubs didn’t rate highly enough to have in their squad. And an untried manager. Survival was at best what could be hoped for.
Fast forward and a new manager with the same players got us hoping but unsurprisingly the lack of depth and quality we had at the start has been exposed.
This team and this manager will give their all in the remaining games but we have to be realistic it may not be enough.
A summer of recruitment with restrictions in place will be equally frustrating and whatever league we are in it will still be a struggle to get to challenge at the top as a result. Hopefully the following season we will be free of restrictions and able to compete, then we should realistically be getting out of this league. In my opinion to achieve this either this season or next will be exceptional. This does not mean I won’t be disappointed if we don’t, or hope we will but that for me is the reality. Look at how long it has taken Ipswich and Wednesday and how long it took Sunderland!

Moaners.. I've got 1 thing to ask, when you lick your windows, do you shut your eyes like you must have done for the last 18 months?

Warne inherited a side passed down to him by someone who built a possession based team. We have zero money for players and have to stay within a strict wage budget. Warne mentioned that we lack a certain cut of player (24-29 year olds) who are at their peak both ability wise and experience.

If he could of signed 4 players of his choice in January, I'm sure he would of. His style of play does not suit some of the players we have Unfortunately, but he's here for the long run. He must be allowed a summer to build a team that suits his style of play, because his way clearly works with the right personnel.

Yeah it's annoying we're struggling for form, yes Warne could change his tactics, but unfortunately he still has the same 2 strikers. Mcgoldrick is our main threat... other teams know this so they crowed him out when he's close to their box which forces him to come deep. Then we're left to rely on Collins who for me, is not good enough.

You can't press the delete button on Warne, he needs time. It's not his fault, if anything he's done well for getting this close with 8 games to go. He's got to stay and be allowed a summer to build. Judge him in December.

Think we should leave that till next season or the season after when weve not got any restrictions on the club, at the end of the day this season was always going to be hard no matter who was manager, but i respect your view.

In my mind realistically playoffs were the target at the start of the season. We're in 6th place and that's what we're currently fighting for. Heck a lot of people on here were saying top 10 and they'd be happy so the meltdown is a bit embarrassing.
We've dropped off it a little but it happens. The reason it looks bad is because we went on that unbelievable unbeaten run.
We've got a tough game next week but after that we should be able to pick up points. If we don't then we don't deserve playoffs. But I think we can get back on track and do it. Once you're in there it's all up for grabs. No need for all the negativity. We're still in the fight for promotion. COYR.

Warne has a 4 year contract, until he has his own players he shouldn’t be judged.
Clowes won’t sack Warne anyway, his recent interview for Marketing Derby talked about 5 years to become an established Championship team.
I’m glad Clowes is the fan in charge of the club and not some of the clowns on here!

I find The Apprentice a little bit like Clarkson's Farm ...in that it's largely 'real' but is clearly staged in way that creates talking points and has handpicked characters selected to bring humour or irritation to proceedings. I find them both good ways to watch human interaction and real life situations without any singing/dancing or dating!
I enjoy both and so do my kids.
