Completely agree.  And those fans that sang about having a party, etc, whilst it’s not nice and makes you angry we just have remember they are the minority and every club has them.  All the fans have some of those clubs I’ve spoken to over the last 9 months or so have genuinely wished us well and hope we survive.  At the end of the day, they need the rivalry and banter as it’s part of being a football supporter.

    I agree

But it's hard not to react when the minority's voice is the loudest and most active....

Although I can kind of deal with them, they are idiots and I try not to argue with idiots (try but don't always succeed).

The ones that really wind me up are the fans who have half the info and genuinely think the EFL have been kind, and argue their point as fact without all the actual facts!

  2. Would be interesting to know what takes so long, is it waiting on people to sign things and return them? Waiting for EFL to agree to everything?

In my head I just imagine there's one guy they are waiting on, who's decided to switch his laptop off for the day and go to the pub, not realising he needs to send something back sharpish

Money must all be in place for them to be hopeful of today still.

you would be correct in saying our revenues are an advantage in league one yes, but we will also have debts to pay which will take a large chunk out of those revenues unless clowes is willing to wipe all debts but i cant see that happening unforuntaely.

we still owe a lot of money to football creditors which will have to go out of accounts so anybody expecting us to start spending any amount of money on transfer fees will probably be mistaken.

It's already taken account of in the accounts? So won't be a FFP issue as in having to record these debts this season for example?

And the cash will already be accounted for as part of the bid?

I agree with shouldn't be spending anything on fees and run the club within its means, but these won't impact the day to day running, finances or this year's accounts?

The great managers have an X factor.  I'm not sure you can learn that.

I find Rosenior incredibly boring and irritating in his interviews.  The way he talks about training to be a manager is like some caricature that I can't quite place, David Brent maybe?

Talks a good game, but has not shown that he can implement it.

Fans are awful at picking managers, and for that reason Clowes would be wise to avoid Rosenior.

Yes fans are rubbish at picking

    Leave it to David Clowes..

    Oh wait.... ?

  5. Rosenior for me.

Of the others mentioned, Dyche is a yes but doubt he'd come for what we can pay or drop this low

Dinosaurs like Warnock and Hughton, please god no.... They might bring part success but if we are going to start from scratch, let's build something worth building and looking at.

Hughton is so backwards in his thinking, Cooper took that same Forest team and look what he did, after Hughton had them bottom of the league. I don't know any of his previous teams fans that speak highly of him

Boxing outside the ring is such nonsense isn't it.

As if in this day and age we let people pick a winner based on things like Aggression/coming forward.

There's enough technology to score jabs, power punches, % success and even zones of the ring (how ring position is even a criteria is nonsense considering some fighters prefer being on the back foot).

Time and time again judges have proven they can't be trusted. Saturday the perfect example. I love watching Canelo's story unfold as he'll be spoken about for a century. I didn't care who won. But Canelo did not win 5 rounds. And yet some had him winning 5 or 6

The only way that is possible is if you prefer a fighter and watch it entirely from his perspective.

With that AJ v Usyk fight I thought it was close at first because I'm watching shots bounce off Joshua and cheering his punches on Usyk. Almost ignoring Usyk's shots. I had Usyk winning but watching it back he won far more comfortable than I originally thought. Impartiality is a big ask and boxing judges aren't capable of ignoring hype/names.

Really torn over the judges and how to fix how biased they are at times. My head says something like what you described is perfect, a stats based measuring system that keeps it fair. What more could you ask for

But the sadistic twisted heart of mine is somehow drawn to the way it is, the unpredictability (or predictable I suppose) nature of how its scored. The controversy and anger that follows. Its almost that ingrained into the sport that it would lose something if it disappeared if that makes sense? Or maybe I'm a dinosaur that can't handle progress.

We'd know the exact score of the match as it progresses, that seems to take a spark away from it, it removes the debating over who you think won a round with your mates live.

There's also something really pleasing when a boxer goes to the other guys yard, and forces that decision when you know no one else in that arena wants it including the judges, that win against all the odds.

    I'm 43 years old.

Worked in accountancy since the age of 17, was an auditor for about 10 of them years.

Moved out of accountancy practice and into industry where I have been for the last 10 years.

My knowledge of auditing has obviously waned in that time but I definitely still know the difference between a debtor and a creditor!

Close to my age, you pass the test

No, the accounts in 2018 showed that one of MMs companies owed £80m for the ground.

I'm quite busy but if you've got 10 minutes I'm quite happy to explain the difference between a debtor and a creditor...

Can I just ask how old you are?

I've met a lot of accountants in my job, and work directly with them including auditors

I haven't met one under 25 that actually knows what they are talking about in the real world, they've done a few trial balances and passed a couple of courses and think they are knowledgeable accountants ?

Just an end note, I don't know enough about Derby's accounts to argue with any of you about who is right or wrong, so I'm not calling anyone out unless you're an accountant under 25 ?

I fail to see the purpose of a smart meter, beyond not having to submit readings which is only a 30 second job every 3 months anyway. Seems to be a product made for the sake of keeping British Gas engineers busy.

Your energy usage is your energy usage, having a meter showing the kettle you just boiled cost you 20p isn't going to stop you making that cup of tea is it?

Didn't everyone elses dad used to go round switching lights off around the house and turning TV's off standby? That seems just as effective. Maybe I'm missing something else they do.

I think the idea is... you can see what the usage is and might try ans actively reduce it? Or if you can see it goes up a lot a certain periods, it might highlight how much certain appliances are costing in energy. Basically educate you more so you can make better decisions.

I have to be honest, we have one and it's stuck out the way so actually makes no difference at all to my habits. But I can't see any reason not to have one? It doesn't cost you any extra, unless there's some hidden agenda from the energy suppliers?

  10. Some good advice on here

Like some have mentioned, keep on top of services coming to the end of contracts. I didn't realise I'd been out of contract on my BT phone/TV/Internet, had been paying £50 plus for a TV box I didn't use as I have a firestick and add ons, plus the Internet (albeit fast) was overkill. Changed over to Now for the Internet at £20 a month. Not a massive change but helps offset the increase of gas/elec from £90 to £200 plus.

Some have mentioned WFH tax relief, uniforms etc which are good. If you are in a relationship and one of you doesn't use your full personal allowance (stay at home parent for example), 10% or so of your allowance can be transferred to the one working and saves a little tax.

I'm also a payroll manager in my day to day work, so I'm happy to offer any help (free) if anyone doesn't understand their pay, thinks something is wrong etc. Employers tend to get pay correct but HMRC are probably the most incompetent organisation I've ever had to deal with, they regularly make mistakes with employee tax codes especially where benefits are involved. Always check things like your tax code and if it isn't the standard 1257L cumulative, then you should always make sure you know how or why it's changed.

Finally... We have a spreadsheet as a household, which lists all our spending, and means you can budget going forward. If you get everything down, and keep an eye over what's coming up, it's useful to stop any unexpected costs arising (forgetting car MOT for example). You'll not remember all costs straight away but as you build up a history and update the budget going forward. As part of that we also have little pots of savings like Xmas fund, holiday fund etc, so we might have x amount in the savings account but the spreadsheet will explain what that is made up of. It all sounds very boring to most people but if you can budget so things like Xmas don't bite you, it can help you get into financial trouble if you then have to borrow. Me personally, I am awful with money, I used to spend whatever was in my account and panic the next payday when I had annual costs I'd forgotten about. If you are geeky like me, it's also nice to see what the future could look like if you do A B or C. It can also highlight areas you Re spending a lot as well. Food shopping was a big one for us, as I'd just go to the shops and spend £50 on a visit outside of the main shop, just buying crap I thought I needed. Now we have a budget each month, I know I have x amount per week or so and can see if I am going close to it or not and make adjustments.

Going completely silent on Twitter is also odd. You'd have thought he'd at least say he's withdrawn from the deal and why.

This is the biggest sign something was going wrong.

He's an active man on twitter, then he's just disappeared. He's a coward in my eyes..... if its gone tits up, money not gone through, whatever, just be a man, explain you've messed up and apologise.

I don't agree with any abuse he or anyone else gets, but if he just said yeah look, my finances have gone to s***, it won't pass AML, whatever, then he'll get a lot more understanding voices. The worst thing you can do after giving it the biggun, is falling off the face of the earth

Keep strong selby and derby fans on here all with you and for her also.

Yep, she will probably feel the mental anguish for a lot longer than her attackers will get. Luckily, with the money he earns he should be able to pay for any help with councilors etc that can help with the mental side of it. If it was left to the NHS things might be even harder.

  13. There's some things in life that I just can't grasp.....

What sort of person must you be, attacking a female unprovoked like that. The sort of person that can do that can't be rehabilitated in my eyes, they'll always have that in them. Depending on how she falls, or how some of those blows hit, it could easily have ended up with a murder charge. I know he won't end up with this sentence, but it should be 15-20 years min for an assault the vicious, unprovoked.

He is playing on the fans nerves by getting the media to do his dirty work for him.

"I have offered x amount but the administrators have declined it,now the club will be liquidated"

Doesn't like being on the losing end of takeover talks me thinks.

He likes to be the one dictating as well

The only upside is he defo won't want a league 1 or champ side, he wants us in the prem and has done it before. But he will try and do it as cheaply as possible

Just don't like the guy to be honest, but I don't suppose that makes much difference to anything whatsoever, and I'm not going to stop supporting so...

  15. 33 minutes ago, PistoldPete said:

So he has offered less than other bidders, possibly not enough for us even to keep our League status,  but still wants to be Preferred Bidder?

    Basically....

My bid isn't as high as the others but it is 100% safe, so go for me now and know it will be sorted or I'm out of here

We shouldn't expect the owners to care as much as us but it shows his total non attachment to the club and fans. He isn't bothered if the club go under or not.

Then again we had local boy and massive fan Mel so does that matter?

No it couldnt have. He made loans to the company that purchased equity in DCFC.

If he wants to recall his directors loan in that company then good luck to him but not sure where he is getting the money from, he has already pilfered our biggest asset to reduce his liability.

The club do not owe him anything.

I thought he'd converted some but not all to equity

Either way..... he deserves nothing after the way it's gone, we can both agree on that

  17. 13 minutes ago, G STAR RAM said:

He has not made any loans to the club. All cash was invested as equity.

I know he converted some of the loans to equity, I didn't realise he'd done that for all of it

This may be genuine. This is the account that broke the news over the weekend about the money delay.

    image.png

Any excitement I had for him and the team have been taken away.

He gets it over the line, great

What about when player wages are late in a few months time and its the same excuses.....

I worry he is young, naive and not cut out for running a club. His wealth seems to have been gained through luck rather than ability

I really hope I'm wrong though as I was genuinely excited for what Rooney might do and who he might bring in
