I don’t think his game has ever been the 'terrier' as you put. I've always looked on him as linking defence and attack and I don't believe, for the most part, that we played him far enough forward to make best use his talents - much as was the case with Will Hughes.

I think it reflects well on him to chat but not give anything away. But (seriously) thanks for the forum info. And interesting he was with Foulkes. I only want Sibs to re-sign if he has a commitment to be played as an attacking midfielder. Don't want to see such a talent squander his career as a bit part left back. 

At least you didn't come up with the embarrassing, nauseating line of "it's the Derby way".

OK, so let's dissect your rationale:
1) "We'll have a good budget" - None of us know what our budget will be but I would imagine it's not going to be particularly close to a top 6 budget. There will be 4 teams with parachute payments, some clubs kitty will be boosted by players they are able to sell, some seem to have owners more willing to splash the cash and, whilst our attendances (and therefore gate revenue) may be amongst the best, it won't be significantly bigger than a number of clubs.
2) "We'll be an "attractive" club" - By this I assume you're suggesting good players will be tempted to sign for the club. This may well be the case but, I'm pretty sure for most players and their agents, money has the loudest voice.
3) "We'll be an ambitious club" - I doubt very much we'll be unique in this respect. There will be several I reckon that fancy their chances at making the play offs.
4) "A club with a "successful"  manager" - Wow, this is a bit rich coming from you. I don't think anyone would doubt that PW's success has only been proven at league 1 level to date. He has no successful track record at Championship level but many of us reckons he deserves a chance.
5) "A manager wanting to prove himself" - I would imagine every permanent manager (if there is such a thing) wants to prove themselves.
You're right, the thread is about aspirations and top 6 should be the goal BUT you said "why can't we expect a good run at top 6". There is a difference between aspirations and expectations.
For me, the aspiration is to be up there having a good go at the top 6 but my expectation is much lower.
I know I added a smiley face to my original response but the cynic in me can't help but think that if we're not close to the top 6 by Christmas (or earlier) you'll be calling for his head on the basis that we should "expect" to be in contention for the play off places.

Jake Rooney picked up a season-long injury and we were a League 1 team that couldn't afford a bottomless squad.
TBF to Kane Wilson, I think his defending improved considerably over the course of the season and he could have been employed as RB in a back 4 if only both of our LBs weren't also injured when Nyambe got injured.

Took a bit longer than I expected but the Bradley critics have started to stir. He was a solid 7/10 in the games he played in the last dozen games or so and to actually say his only decent performance was in a pre-season friendly is hilarious.

From what I saw of him at Stoke I wouldn’t be too sure of that, though Stoke do tend to bring out the worst players.

Ah yes, of course, he undermined Cocu by deliberately scoring a late free-kick at Norwich that 99% of English footballers would have been incapable of doing to save Cocu's job by giving him our first (and only) win of the season.
His form and fitness were fading even before that season but to suggest he deliberately undermined Cocu is pure conspiracy nonsense that ignores Rooney's reputation as a dedicated footballer with an incredible will to win.

Not at all surprised if Sibley doesn't stay, but I'd be amazed if he went to Rotherham. With Warne and Evans's close relationship, Rotherham is the least likely team in the country to want to play Sibs as their goalscoring attacking midfielder. And involves dropping a division when he's comfortably played at Championship level earlier in his career. 
If as suggested we've not matched his previous wages, it would be a bargain free transfer for someone with no compensation to pay us, and surely terrible business on our part. I'd actually expect us to have matched his old contract to avoid that happening.
