He’s now claiming to have left Bakhmut and is on his way with troops to Belgorod, then Rostov. The only way he could do this is if the army gave him safe passage, otherwise it’s BS.

There could actually be something in this as US intelligence is currently briefing the president.

It’ll be interesting to see what develops in the morning.

For Ukraine, and NATO, are the current events a good or a bad thing?

Is there some reason why this is all over the BBC as if he's some sort of important person?

I don't know. I know what he presents, but I've never seen it. There has to be more to it though. Does everyone who has had an affair at work have to resign now? Have we gone 60 years back in time ?

Man city absolutely battered Real Madrid in that first half. Sensational display

Indeed. Should really be 4 or 5 up.

If the way this Man City team play is supposed to be boring, I've been watching Football wrong for the last 60 years.

Fauda's decent. I binged the final series a while back and wasn't disappointed after bingeing the first few during lockdown.

Ref the Night Agent - stupidest thing I've seen on telly in a very long while. Bone-jarringly so. So stupid in fact, that I gave up 3/4s of the ay through episode 1. That's how bad it is 🤮 It's hard to understand sometimes how stuff gets made, but I see folk saying they couldn't make it through two episodes of Succession so what do I know?

Good that we all like different stuff though . Otherwise the shows being made would all be so similar.

I know shows can reward you for sticking with them, and I know I'm capable of giving up too soon. But can you say you were enjoying Succession from the start, or did you have to watch several episodes to get into it?

Other really popular, seemingly well thought of shows I couldn't get on with.

Ozark. I thought the first episode was quite good. So carried on. By the time I got to about six or seven, I hated it, and every one in it, so gave up.

Ted Lasso. I thought, from what everyone was saying, this must be good. I somehow got through the whole of season one, but thought it was awful. Again, not a single likeable character, and also, and I know that comedy is a very subjective thing, but there's nothing remotely funny in this show!

The Expanse. Just confused the hell out of me. Too many characters, and I had no idea what was going on, or who was who.

Severance. I actually enjoyed this for the first 2 or 3 episodes. But got very bored with it by about 6 and gave up.

For Balance, some stuff I've loved, in no particular order.

Better call Saul, Breaking bad, The west Wing, Godless, Queen's Gambit, Better than Us, Shtisel, Stranger, Pine Gap, Secret City, Borgen, Occupied.

Typically change every year to ensure I'm not paying much (and also get cashback in the process)

Virgin - fast, reliable, but  kept getting letters in the post due to what I was downloading
Sky - cheaper, not as fast, fairly reliable
Now Broadband - cheaper than Sky but same speed, less reliable
OneStream - same sort of price, never dropped out, but have had speeds drop off now and again.

What do you mean by those letters from Virgin?

Going to be controversial here I think.

I started Succession the other day, I'm 3 episodes in.

Surely it gets better? Not saying it's bad, it's just meh? I'll stick with it, but I'm pretty bored so far...

You got further than me. Didn't make it to the end of this second one.

    I've watched and enjoyed it.

Also enjoyed seeing how many people showing they don't care by constantly saying they don't care while mocking anybody who dare enjoy such a celebration😛

I'm puzzled by the Not my King protesters.

Usually when people protest, there's some kind of point to it. Something that the protester is trying to prevent. Saving a tree, stopping a new road, demanding a new road, wanting a pay rise, whatever. Whether I agree with them or not, or their methods, I do at least understand the protest.

Not my King? Why are you telling me this? Why do you think I, or anyone else needs to know you feel that way?

I may as well wear a tee shirt that says, I don't eat apples.

TV programmes that insist on quoting distances in Kilometres. Ben Fogle, Race Across the World, and numerous others.

    In Britain we use MILES!

It annoys me that for some weird reason, in this country we seem to use both! We don't measure anything at work in imperial. Whether it's something 17 metres in length, or I'm filing something to change it by 0.10 of a millimetre. So why do we still use miles? Maybe couldn't afford to change all the distance signs 😀.

I'm old, but I haven't a clue what I weigh in stones. I only use KGs. Yet if asked about height, I'm six foot one. I buy petrol by the litre. Then people use MPG. Why?

I don't really mind which system we use, but I've never understood why we seem to try and use both.

Making dens out of hay bales in the fields then fleeing like rats when the farmer turns up in his tractor.

These we’re the traditional small bales that used to poo out the back of the machine as it went along, not these massive ones they have now.

We have pictures of us and the kids sitting on the big round ones , for every year from when they were 0 up to these days in their 30s. Never missed a year yet. Though it's harder for me to get up on them each year 😀

Do you really reckon we put a man on the moon all those years ago in the dark ages?

Well, only you can decide what you think.

50 years after the Wright Brothers first flight, there were people all over the world travelling around on jets. Military aviation, even in the 50s, was amazing.

Somehow, the moonbase I was expecting didn't happen. Unless, it's there now, but they've just not told us !

OMG just watched this week’s Succession.

    Barely breathed throughout.

    Wow, just wow.

I haven't seen any of Succession. The comments I've seen about the current series, and this week's episode, is making me think I should start it.

Or, just watch this week's episode on its own. Rated at 9.9 on IMDb.

I guess that might not have the same impact though!

You guys are all very quiet on Succession. Is everybody waiting to binge it like I and Mrs Badger are?

Also, very surprised I didn't get any pushback on me saying I thought Ted Lasso had deteriorated. Anybody else seen it?

    Re Ted Lasso.

I ploughed through the first series and basically hated every minute of it. I was determined to actually get to the end of it though, so stuck with it. Didn't like or care about any of the characters. Thought the whole idea was just daft , and nothing remotely funny happened at any point . Given how everyone seems to love it, I think there must be something wrong with me!

Amazed to hear that it's deteriorated 😀
