He had the most amazing charismatic smile. He could switch from evil scumbag to lovely genuine guy in a second - it was really chilling. And I agree, I thought his character was the weak link in the first series, but he dominated it as it went on. Definitely better than Kin,which is a lot more polished, but I really like Kin too.

    Re Kin....

I've finally finished the second season. Great ending.

Left me puzzled though, about the delightful Mollie from the pharmacy storyline 🤔

    Rumours. Wow!

What is your set up? Couple of years ago, I was in a hi-fi shop in Stratford-upon-Avon, and they were playing Rumours on vinyl. It sounded amazing. I did a quick tot up of the turntable, amp and speakers they were using. Just under £13,000. 😞

Well thanks for pissing on my chips mate! 😂

You prefer 3 to the first two. I'm the other way round.

Where are you actually up to? Or have you now finished all of it?

Ignore! I have horrendous insomnia again so have cracked on with S03 and it's a distinct return to form. Tom Vaughn-Lawlor is a brilliant actor, but god is his character loathsome! Totally compelling though and I'm now rather keen to see whether he gets what's coming to him.

    No spoilers please!

It's all opinions I know, but 3 is way below 1 and 2. 😀. I'm on 4, and even though that's improved on 3, still not much enthusiasm to crack on and watch the next episode.

  5. Looking for help with this. Been with Virgin for ages. Want to switch to sky.

Now, I thought I'd be contacting sky, organize package etc, then they'd come and install dish, Q box etc, and somehow switch the broadband to them. But......all the deals they seem to have are something called sky stream . Delivered next day, plug and play etc. That means I'd still be on virgin broadband? Is the sky Q box obsolete these days??

Does the stream puck thing work ok? Has anyone switched BOTH broadband and TV from virgin to sky recently, and if so, how do you actually go about it?

I'm out of contract with virgin if that's of any relevance.

@NottsRam and @ketteringram we wondered if Darren's sister (I forget her name now) just couldn't be in it because that seemed weird.

His girlfriend was just written out of the plotline so that didn't feel especially weird, more like real life.

I thought the end of Season 3 was brilliant.

I am enjoying Kin second season, but I miss the grittiness of Love/Hate. Having said that, I don't miss half the dialogue in Kin!

I've watched the first three episodes of second season of Kin

I've no issues with dialogue, having lived in Ireland for 20 years

Bren has certainly livened it up 😀

based on recommendations in this thread, me and the GF have watched Love/Hate over the last month or so.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, some great characters. Sadly some written out in first 2 seasons.

Underlying feeling is that the writers had to wrap it all up in the last episode or two and it felt a little rushed and the show deserved better.

    Still a cracker though

I'm about half way through season 4 of Love/Hate.  Thanks to @Bob The Badger for the recommendation!

Think I already said this, but....

absolutely loved seasons one and two. Couldn't fault it. Really didn't like season three. A few reasons. I hated the storyline with Siobhan. Wish the writing just hadn't gone that way. Hated what happens with Tommy. Hated the fact that they even brought 'the Ra' into the story, and none of those characters worked for me. Didn't like the way the show just seemed to forget about their private life. For example, I'm pretty sure in the first two episodes of season 3, Nidge doesn't go home. He doesn't call home. Trish doesn't even get mentioned. If you joined the show at that point, you wouldn't know he had a family.

Anyway.......season four has improved on three, but I'm not sure any of it from here, is going to match 1 and 2.

I thought 2 was maybe the weakest, but 3, 4 and 5 were incredible.

That's interesting. I'm part way through season 3, and think it's a huge drop in quality from 1 and 2.

It's like it's written by a different team or something. I'm not at the stage where I'd bail out of it. I just think it's a big drop off .

    What did you think?

just finished binge watching both series. It was good but not great IMO. Well made and acted but didn't bring anything new or extra to the tabe.

I enjoyed Kin, but I've only seen the first season. It tried too hard to be mean and moody sort of thing. The conversations were slow, with all those pauses. I've never met anyone who speaks like that.

I'm half way through season two of Love/Hate, and for me, it's way better than Kin. More natural, better pacing, better characters etc.

Jeez, the final episode of Season 3 of Love/Hate is mind-blowing!

I know @NottsRam is on this, but has anybody else watched this?

If not, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is definitely up there with Kin, and I'm so glad I was recommended it by @hales300k

I've just finished Kin last night. Well, the first season anyway.

What service are you watching Love/Hate on?

Funny you should say that! It's one of the few box sets I own.

I've not had any kind of disc player for well over 15 years. I've never seen a blu ray disc, never mind a UHD one.

Given how cheap the second hand discs are in charity shops etc, I'm half tempted to buy a UHD player , and build up a collection again 🤔

Had a peep mate and it seems you still have to pay to watch it! Blimey.

It's on Amazon (Paramount), but I'd just grab a torrent, if I were you. Otherwise grab their intro offer and try and nail it in a week, but there's quite a lot of it. 5 or 6 series I reckon.

Or , if you've got something that still plays discs, you could probably find a box set for next to nothing in a CEX type shop.

I want to see how Pboro fare against them next week before commenting too much

A draw seems a decent return today. Would have taken it before kick off. Tricky place to come

They haven't won at home since October.

Imagine this forum if that was our form.

I have been waiting for something I really wanted to watch (Slow Horses 3 wasn't quite compelling enough) to kick off my Apple TV free 6 months, and I think this baby will do it. Anybody watching it? I know they're drip-feeding it, rather annoyingly.

It was discussed this afternoon on R 5 .

I hear good stuff about Traitors from a LOT of people and I'm pretty sure it's on iPlayer, but I cannot summon up any enthusiasm to watch it. I'm not at all sure why.

I felt exactly the same, and only got around to watching it about two weeks ago. After the first episode, I was wondering how they'd manage to get 22 of the most annoying people you could imagine, all on the same show.

Didn't like episode one, but thought they'd probably wasted most of that explaining who they were, so gave episode 2 a go.

After that, loved it 😀, and its really not the sort of thing I like.

I like the way they tweak the rules as it goes on.

I couldn't care less about the silly tasks they do each day. If I watch the next series, I'll probably just fast forward all that!
