No need to say sorry, I get it. And I think similar to yourself the reason that preconception exists is because I have defended things or called for patience in the past.
There are some well-reasoned arguments and observations about Warne from a number of posters that I understand and recognise even if I don’t share them, sometimes simply down to a personal stance of living in the moment as much as I can. And there are some examples of people from both sides (and I’ve no doubt been guilty of it too) of “point scoring” and gloating etc. The stuff I don’t get (and it is out there) is the more personal and reductive stuff about Warne and his methods, but I’ve accepted that that’s how some people see if and choose to express it so for the most part try and leave them to it. That’s their view, it’s not mine, ah well 🤷🏻‍♂️
The challenge of this forum as a written medium is that the allowance and consideration of nuance is sometimes missed both intentionally or not. If we were all sat in a massive DCFC branded pub having the same conversations it would maybe be less divisive, after all, we’re all Derby right?…..until someone has one too many medium strength lagers and mentions the why wall of course 🤣

Yeah sorry didn't mean to add to the dialogue pigeonholing you, just more of an example of how nuance can get lost when it becomes a case of people taking sides. I'm guilty myself, I've definitely defended Warne at times more than I feel he deserves, simply because I disagree with the extremity of criticism being levelled at him. I got very similar about Cocu as well, the issue there being the doubters ended up being correct. I try and use that as perspective for how even if the criticism is OTT at the time, in the long-run there may be validity in there.
As in some may be more negative in response to some being overly positive/defensive about Warne? That's interesting if true, but does further show disagreement often just entrenches people in their existing opinion, rather than serve as a constructive dialogue that leads to more moderate stances on all sides.

You're going to have to explain that last bit to me as I'm genuinely struggling. Warne makes him look average, yet he's our best player... eh?
My take is that he's not our best player, but he probably has the highest ceiling due to his technical ability. I'd go so far as to say he's not even in our top 3 players- NML, Cashin, Nelson all rank above this season. My only criticism of Max ties into this actually, and that is that he very rarely EVER looks the best player on the pitch. Northampton (H) this season I would argue was one of the only games I can remember with this being the case.
However under Warne, he's currently having his most productive season in front of goal to date, whilst also demonstrating he has the capacity to be versatile and play a multitude of central midfield positions- his ability as an #8/10 had been untested prior to this season. He's shown improved dribbling ability and developed a more effective final ball, reflected in his stats. With 4 goals, 6 assists, I'm struggling to see how it could be argued Warne hasn't improved his attacking prowess?

YorkshireRam got a reaction from FlyBritishMidland in Anything positive to take from yesterday moving forwards?
One small positive for me was the welcome addition of some one-touch football through the middle of the pitch. Primarily facilitated by Bird and Adams, there was 2/3 moments where we passed through their midfield with precision and looked very dangerous. If we can expand on this in the coming games, we'll have a much more varied offense, which can only serve us well.
Add to that: we've got one of the best wingers in the league to integrate into the side, Adams gelling into the midfield further, and our best defender on the ball to return tomorrow.
If we can put all the pieces together, there's no reason we can't go on another strong run of results and re\ally cement our league position- the next 2 games are crucial though!

Except Warne said in his post-match presser he told the team to push for a 2nd goal. If the players began to play with trepidation at fear of conceding and this is all after half-time, what exactly is Warne supposed to do? In fairness, you could even argue his subs were attacking- which has been the main criticism of Warne from Saturday and you're saying the exact opposite...
This is the type of comment that irks me, because I cannot see how you've possibly completely absolved the players of responsibility there, and just blamed Warne. It makes no sense...?

To be fair, if you search star in this topic.....

Not sure anyone could argue with @YorkshireRam that Collins has been a star this season, his goals have been vital for us, including penalties.
He never said our star player, which would suggest he has been our best, that's up for debate with Nelson, Cashin and NML worthy nominations.
Finally "many", well there's 2 people that have used the word star across 4 posts, 3 from yourself, so not sure how you are calculating this.
I'm also not sure why anyone would want to downplay is role in our season, deducting goals as they come from the spot is pretty petty, if we went up on the last game of the season, Collins scoring a 90th minute penalty to finish 2nd, would we be sat here saying we should have been in the play offs really? Of course not.

Not quite sure where to post this but seeing as it was supposedly part of RamsTV pre-Shrewsbury….
Great (but short) interview with Cash… the bit when he said his relationship with the fans was a big part in him signing a new deal almost brought a tear to my eye…
Man, when one talks of ‘We are Derby’…. With regard to Cash HE IS DERBY . The new Jake Buxton. 👍👍👏👏
Top-top guy. Our best signing in the window by far…🐏🐏🐏

He won us 3 points at Port Vale which could end up being vital come the end of the season. If we do end up finishing in the top 2 this season, then he's made a contribution to that.

YorkshireRam got a reaction from Wolfie in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
Except this isn't a new thing... The home atmosphere has been dogsh!t for a while now, and I chalk it up to toxic expectation. I remember it really starting in 14/15, the first season people started assuming we'd finish top 2. It seemingly changed from unconditional support, to entirely conditional. The team has to do something to warrant cheering, rather than generating atmosphere to gee the players on.
I find it all very entitled. It's embarrassing when we come across as the fanbase that thinks they're better than they are. We should have a 'we're in league 1 so better roll our sleeves up and muck in'' whereas instead everyone is expecting champagne football and constant wins, and then literally boo'ing if we dare to have a blip... I think that reflects more poorly on our fanbase, than it does in any way on Warne or his football.
