We have to offer Sibs and Wildsmith new deals for me.

Agreed. I loved how sibley ran into the crowd as many ran off the pitch (not knocking those who did but more impressed how sibley went in). He wants success for us so I’d have him in even if he isnt as effective as he has been the last couple of months. As for wildsmith, as a goalie myself I like his style. He dominates the box which a few ex Derby keepers haven’t. He makes the odd mistake but which Derby player hasn’t this season. The golden glove is down to him AND the 2/3 in front of him but he is a good keeper. Not prem quality so he should swallow some pride and stay on.

    Anypne have any advice please....:

I normally go to the match with relatives who have a parking season ticket (Car Park B - Arena) but I'm taking Miss Wolfie to the Orient game and so need to drive seperately and pre-pay to park in the same car park as them.

I stupidly paid the parking on the MiPermit app on Sunday just gone without first signing into my account, so I don't have any email confirmation or live booking showing on the app.

Will they know on the entrance that my car registration has been used for a booking?. Otherwise all I have is a £10 transaction on my credit card app that I can show them. I sent a message on the MiPermit website but I'm not confident of getting an answer.

    Thanks!

I've done that before. I've since made sure i log in but it doesnt matter as you dont need to show evidence upon entry. You just say 'i paid online' and they wave you in. It will be on their records so if someone goes round and checks car plate numbers there will be no issue.

The MiPermit app is one of the worst. The fact you can book online without logging in and they dont send any confirmation is terrible.

then we had a period when nothing happened probably when their keeper had issues and the game was stopped. They had a 10 min spell brought about by us carelessly losing the ball

There was nothing wrong with their keeper. This is a loophole in the rules that needs fixing. As its the only position that doesnt require the player to stay off the field for 30 seconds he went down so Darren Moore could make tactical changes. Their outfield players all sprinted off to the half way line immediately when the the ref stopped play and surprise surprise they are much better for the next 10 minutes.

  4. Finally a game where Warne hasnt put a dampener on it with his subs. Win or lose he has made bizarre substitutions recently. He recognised todays game was there for the taking and brought on the right players. Solid performance and a deserved win.

The middle 3 continue to puzzle me. Fornah has made some silly mistakes but i think he is the future over Smith who seems to perform better at RB than his preferred CM. Hopefully we'll see that 3 dominate more in games moving forward and the issue was Smith rather than Hourihane/Bird.

Wilson is clearly a better winger than the RB he was brought in to be. He isnt a good defender but offers far more excitement than Barks the way he takes players on. Keep Nyambe and hold on to Bird and Cashin and dare I say it our starting XII just needs an out and out striker to compete at the top. Shame we didnt snap up CM. I am not one for going to past players but his touch on Saturday was still there and he'd set up Wilson and Mendez-Laing as he did Russell and co.

Just can’t see the Blackpool thing to be honest unless they offer him 2 years and we only offer 1. He’d surely want to relocate if he did go there. Lytham is very nice.

Think as others have said, Mirror have assumed we wouldn’t need both when actually we do.

Length of contract would be the only advantage as I don’t think they can afford much higher wages than us.

I also don’t think it’s the mirror but more waggy’s agent trying to bump up our offer to him. I hope our club have developed a backbone and stick to our offer. I am ok with him joining but it’s on our terms.

Based on what? I'll wait for any substance to that completely baseless comment. Us being the "biggest" team means nothing when budget wise we are limited in what we have to spend. Pathetic comment.

The problem with being a ‘big’ team is that other agents use us to get more money elsewhere (and fans believe rumours so think we are losing out to smaller teams) and when we are interested agents ask for more money than they would from other clubs. We had a reputation amongst players in the industry for overpaying in the past and that needs to stop. We should hold our ground and stick to what we can afford.

The club needs to run at break even in the long run and we shouldn’t be short sighted.

Plaudits to Sibbers for his offensive display 2nd half but if we are to play him in that position long term, he definitely needs to work on his defensive positional play.

A few times in thst 2nd half he was woefully out of position. Luckily Cashin bailed him out a few times. A better class of opposition would exploit this though.

Feel bad picking faults after he ultimately won us the game so I'll wind my neck in now.

I don’t think we’ll be playing him there any longer than we need to. He is doing an admirable job outside his comfort zone. No complaining, just helping the team out as asked by his manager. When chester/Davies/Roberts are back it will be Fozzy/Roberts out there.

He may have deserved criticism for some past performances but to be critical of him today is incredibly negative…

A reminder of the rules for folk, given we have the vital game at Ipswich three days later. If we can afford it I'd likely take the fine, but if we're not taking the fine and are looking for four qualifying outfield players, I would pick: Stearman, Forsyth, Smith (for fitness) and Roberts giving a team of:

    Loach

    Stearman     Rooney     Roberts

    Oduroh     Thompson   Smith     Ibrahim     Forsyth

    Lo-Everton

    Cybulski

Bart is on loan at Matlock now

Fantastic news to get Barkuizen through the door, could have easily got a Championship contract I’m sure. Brilliant signing, and great to finally be able to bring players in after the years of hell we’ve been through!

Welcome to the club Tom! Finally adding some depth up front, really good utility man to have.

Surprised it’s only a two year contract though, he’s not exactly old. You’d have thought we’d give him a three year deal, though I wonder if the EFL business plan restricts us to two year deals only?

I wonder the same. I agree with wage caps as I don’t believe we need or should be paying more than others but restricting contract lengths is continuing to punish us for our former owners actions. The vultures will be circling again soon. I’d have liked the youngsters to have been on 3 year deals.

you are right, but i do feel things will be different and we will appreciate a well run club from now on. even if there is grumblings, we will know the grass isnt always greener because somebody comes in and splashes a load of cash.

I like your optimism and hope you are right. Unfortunately football fans are a fickle bunch. Modern society has little patience these days so I fear we will be in the minority. How many times has Tom Lawrence gone from hero to zero to hero and so on…

for me it is about the fit for the club.

ashley was never a fit at newcastle because they were a fan base that demanded to be entertained and compete for trophies. once they didn't like him there was no going back.

here, ashleys type of ownership is everything we require. we need stability and a sustainable model. we wont demand success like newcastle fans do, we demand a team that cares like this season has proven, and a well run club. we will get that with ashley. there may be growing pains but derby county football club will do well with mike ashley as our owner because like him or lump him he is a shrewd operator and wont waste a penny of the clubs money.

and for me most importantly of all, if ashley is named as the owner of this club, there is zero chance we will be in this position again in a few years time. and with somebody like CK that was not a guarentee. i dont care how ashley gets the club, whether its for 20p or 20 million with -15 or no deductions, i just want this club to live to fight another day.

I’d agree that’s what we need but it does sound similar to when we had Clough Jr and the American owners who brought stability and a balanced budget after the premier league debacle. Unfortunately after a while the fans did demand more…

Best outcome would have been Gibson getting the square route of f all. Second best outcome is for it to come from the pocket of Mr Morris, the man who has left us in so much hurt, and avoiding causing any further hurt.

In the circumstances, I’m more than happy with the second best outcome so we can finally move on.

Just so long as any money exchanging hands is between those 2 that’s fine. I don’t want any money going directly to MFC to help them with FFP next year.

I hope today wakes people that there isn’t a football family, its an utter daydream. We’re in this on our own, and if we upset people on the way so ducking what!!!!

Bournemouth and Blackpool were pretty supportive when they came and I’ve seen plenty of support from them online. Birmingham just happen to be the worst of the lot so we shouldn’t tarnish everyone with same brush.

They've always been the same. When they got relegated from the PL the BBC comments section summarises their fans.

Good riddance to vile fans was the theme

Living in the area I never used to mind Birmingham and disliked villa and wolves. Then the got promoted and have become an awful set of fans. Considering what they have been through last couple of years too they have been the worst away fans this season.

its so sweet giving it back to them as we pass the fan coaches one by one on same route home!

How is it possible that the chairman of a governing body has not seen what it is that 2 of it's members are claiming against another of it's member clubs? Say that you can't comment on the exact content of those claims, but that you don't know what they are? So it's possible that between them Boro and Wycombe want £500000M, and they're not prepared to compromise. But Rick Parry, chairman of the EFL, the governing body, doesn't actually know what they're claiming! Incredible.

It isn’t possible. The whole board will know. Probably a play on words and there may be one particular document he hasn’t physically seen.

Hardly a PR exercise but at least emails are being replied to which is something. It wasnt nice and fluffy. Could easily be bland "we cant comment during current negotiations" to everyone.  Its more about volume and not letting up. Interested to hear your further ideas on what fans should do as there must be more things?

by the way love the user name - one of my 3 favourite players

It was not a criticism of you and I think you did the right thing emailing him. I just don’t buy anything that comes out of the EFLs mouth. (I’ve been on their side of the fence and worked for a professional football league).

So I sent an email to RP and the other 3 non- footballing board members very politely setting out the human side of this a little. Sent in middle of night while Dad wandering and received reply at 7.17.
Please all keep doing this politely and perhaps with different angles to the email.

    Gist of the reply was

    - acutely aware of the importance of Derby County to the supporters

    - know the history of the club.

    - no agenda against the club (i didnt mention that)

    - hope that a solution will be found.

if he is replying himself I am impressed actually that he is bothering. If it is a minion still good that they are replying promptly to individuals. Better than email going off to faceless organisation with auto-response.

what else are you going to do on a Sunday in January?

So the EFL are going to try and go on a PR exercise to improve their image. The gist of the email sounds nice and fluffy but I don’t buy it. He needs to step forward and be interviewed so he can answer specific questions. If our admin haven’t done something call them out. But we need to hear what on earth the EFL are doing entertaining boro and Wycombe.
