Let’s start with the pros, as it’s only fair: He’s an intelligent tactician and theoretically astute. He can talk a good game, clearly has a good understanding of the game, feel even though he’s said previously he’s not a student of the game that he understands it very well. I see him as man-manager, emotionally intelligent, albeit not to everyone’s cup of tea (but who is).
cons, for me, as a tactician he sees players on the pitch as pieces on a chest board rather than players looking to develop. He will help players gauge an understanding of the game, evidently he likes to make sure his players are aware and they obviously do their home work. I don’t see him as a technical coach, like McClaren and Cocu, more-so a fitness, psychological coach and that’s where he feels comfortable. It makes his quite stubborn, at times, we’ve all seen that with formations this season. I also feel that he has struggled with the size of the club and the weight of expectation, he’s almost played it off but incorrectly at times. Lastly, in contrast with the above, I believe he is incredibly aware tactically of what he wants to do and how to be successful - I’m just not quite sure he knows how to achieve it with the recruitment required. What he wants, how we recruited were at odds - clearly there was someone compensating so I won’t hammer him as ultimately it falls to the recruitment staff to find the very best players available to us. If he was dead set on three CBs then he needed to add speed and lateral quickness to the wide CBs but instead signed Nelson and Bradley. Doesn’t add up.
Overall, 5/10, the club isn’t really better or worse off. We will get into the playoffs, I’m sure, but without significant improvement it’s a wasted ticket. Philosophically, he sees the game in a lot of ways different to me, but a lot of people do, but it’s the reason why I’m not right behind him currently - like I was McClaren and Cocu.

2 year contract extension for Alex Thomson. Reward for a good season in all formats.

I’ll happily admit to being more on the optimistic side most of the time, I don’t think last night was a “good” performance, but it was better than we’ve had in some games and showed what the team can do regardless of the opposition. Lots of stock has been placed in stats to show how poor our performances have been at times, last nights stats seem to make good reading to me.
Is it a positive to see two of our attacking players back from injury and finishing two really good attacking moves to get on the scoresheet? For me it is. Is it a positive to see us keep a clean sheet? For me it is. Is it a positive to see some rotation in the squad and minutes in the legs for more players? For me it is. Is it a positive to see us pass the ball more, have more possession, play more accurate passes than the opponent? For me it is. Is it a positive seeing the club I support win regardless of the opponent or competition? For me it is.
So taking this game in isolation it was a decent win. As for what it means in the grand scheme of the season we have to wait and see, it’s on to Carlisle on the weekend to hopefully build some momentum.

If we want to be top 6, we have to hold out in games like this.

Yep, that’s fair, I’m not disputing that. I simply feel this game is more of an anomaly than others have been this season.
We’ve lost 2-1 on the road to one of the better sides in the league, having played a chunk of the game with 10 men, the goals coming from two penalties and a deflected cross. If they were as good as we’re supposed to be poor it would have been 7-1. Got to dust ourselves down and go again.
Of those more vocal in their concerns about Warne, are any attending the fans forum? Perhaps someone could articulate it in a constructive way in that space how some of the fans feel about the style of football being served up, might be the opportunity some people want to share their views in the correct way 🤷🏻‍♂️

He’s such a cry baby. Too emotional to provide any sort of picture how the game is being played out.

Not pretty but we’re in this, Fornah is not really an attacking player so why is he playing in the 10? I’d take Smith off drop Fornah back and put either Barks or JJ on

I hate setting up to sit deep and hit teams on the counter. It's so negative. It's crap to watch. I can't remember the last time we strung 9 or 10 passes together. It's a results based business, but there's a massive difference between playing like this and nicking a result, and playing like this and still losing. It's anti football.

Nelson’s header blocked by a Bolton hand.
    Ref waves it away
We put the ball in the net from a corner.
Ref pulls it back for a peno.
    luckily we score the peno.
But it’s clear this ref is an utter joker

I don't get why so many fans want us to sell our best centre half and one of our best players when we're trying to get promoted. This isn't football manager. The new centre halves haven't pulled up any trees yet so how would selling Cashin definitely help us?

Depends doesn't it? Loan back could have been worth it. Otherwise, who do you replace him with at this stage?
