    I'm exhausted.
There seem many fewer defenders of Warne now. More than a quarter of the way through the season and we're 10 points about the relegation zone but 13 off top spot. I should try to check, but I haven't the energy, but someone posted we've won 2 home games since the start of March. In the third division. To get into the automatic promotion places we will need to win something like 10 games in a row. We sit 11th in the table, 2 places below Burton Albion. And playing dreadful, clueless football with no evidence we might turn the corner.
The way to make a small fortune is to start with a large fortune and buy a football club. There's not really any way round that. The justification being offered for keeping Warne is that Clowes can't afford to sack him. But it's crystal clear to most of the fanbase that he can't afford not to. I'm sorry (as we all are) that it's come to this. I hope the manager is honest with himself and walks, but that rarely happens in life. And, like I said, I'm exhausted.
    Worn out.

No significant pressure if we don't finish top 6?
How many season tickets do you think we will sell with another season of Warne and no top 6 finish.
Can't afford to sack him, will quickly become can't afford not to.

Never mind not renewing it, I'm seriously considering not using most of the one I've already paid for to watch this dross!

It really is the last-chance saloon for him. Warne's post-match interviews continue to be incoherent, bordering on the bizarre and his interpretation of matches doesn't match up with reality. We've barely played well for 90 minutes this season, which is a really sizeable problem but the bigger problem is that the bloke can't seem to see it. He thinks this is good, which is precisely why nothing is changing.

This is partly my thinking. I’ve been patient and looked to be balanced in my views on Warne although I tend to be more on the optimistic side. However I can only see a miraculous turnaround of both performances and results winning some back over, and even then it’ll be on very limited terms, one or two signs of things slipping back to how they currently are would see people turn again quite quickly. Do I think that miraculous turnaround will happen? No, not on current evidence… meaning it’s probably turning into a matter of when not if.

EFL & Sky Sports broadcast rights agreement
EFL clubs have agreed a record domestic rights deal with broadcaster Sky Sports worth £935m over a five-year period, starting in 2024/25
The new deal represents a 50% increase on the current rights value and will see significantly enhanced exposure for all EFL Clubs with an uplift in coverage across all divisions
The current domestic broadcast deal is effectively a share of Championship 70%, League One 18% and League Two 12%.
The uplifted element of the domestic broadcast deal is likely to be fed into the distribution calculation and be split between divisions on an 80% / 12% / 8% ratio.
Weighting is given to Championship clubs as primary drivers of rights values, with clubs agreeing the distribution formulas up to certain levels
According to the existing distribution formula, clubs in the Championship will be approximately 46% better off and 25% in League One and League Two respectively
From 24/25 it’s either a tv deal worth between £1/1.25 million in League 1 or a deal in the Championship worth around £8.7 million plus increased revenues, crowds and corporate opportunities, therefore the financial implications of not getting promoted this season are going to be huge!
There’s some big decisions for Clowes the businessman over the next few months.

I’m no businessman …………….but I certainly know which league I’d rather be in!

What do you think will change? Even in the second half with better footballers on the pitch we looked chaotic. How do you think it will get consistently better?

Even Peterborough and Blackpool, we've simply taken every chance and they have missed and hit the woodwork.
When was the last time we really played well? I hope you've got a good memory.

I think the fact we are now below Burton Albion is a line in the sand.
Yeah, I know we have games in hand, but the fact is, yesterday afternoon, between 3pm and 5pm, they scored as many home goals as we have ALL SEASON.

Another god dam awful performance followed by the same old drivel from Warne in his interview
Never before now have i been a Warne out but im afraid he as to go, we are a million miles from were we need to be in terms of quality, performances and league position,we are 13 points behind Portsmouth after only 12 games already, just not good enough
I look every week at the two starting lineups and we should be walking this League, take yesterday there was not a single Shrewsbury player i would of selected in front of our team in any position which suggests there is something wrong either on the training pitch or behind the scenes
Yes the Blackpool away win was ok but then to get only 2 point from Cambridge,Cheltenham and Shrewsbury is criminal.
The biggest question is can Clowes afford the pay off and in tern attract someone to take over this mess,i can see at least Bird and Cashin moving on in Jan which will make us worse as a football team

Because many, like Warne, are poor technical coaches. We won’t ever play McClaren esque football under Warne because he doesn’t know how to coach it.

he genuinely sounds surprised that we cant score. I mean who would have thought it considering we had a massive 3 shots on goal.
Not only is the football bad, its ineffective and boring to watch. We now have to put up with the manager being deluded aswell, thinking we play well

It will take much more than a laborious, scrappy home win against a rubbish side to change people's minds.
If we go out and dominate them and look good doing it then I hope it's a wake up call for Warne and reminds him that we should be trying to do that every week. Although I thought that about Blackpool away and look where we are...

I had such high hopes for the bloke. Great record in this division, couldn't take Rotherham any further I assumed due to budgets. Let's see what he can do at a big club. And I think now we've all seen what he is capable of. Nothing.
The bloke hasn't grasped the size of the job at all. Did he really think hitting the ball wide as early as possible and smashing crosses into the box was going go down well with supporters? The good managers evolve their ideas over time. He is expecting really technical footballers to become athletes who can run half a marathon and bulldoze the opposition on the break. No wonder tactically we are all over the place.
This squad is top 6 easily, any half decent manager could at least be competitive. We have the biggest wage budget in the league. And what this manager has produced is nothing short of something I'd expect on a Sunday morning on Alvaston Park. Pathetic, amateur standard of football where crossing the ball gets clapped at like seals on our bench. Bottom half league one teams can easily figure out our game plan within 5 minutes. We've got all these quality midfielders and we still insist on avoiding them at all costs when we attack. It is painful to watch. Is this really the best this squad has to give?
I'm done with it. I was so excited to see what he could do with a summer and implement a plan to fire us up the league. Currently, we're firing into the midtable wasteland. It is embarrassing. He's got all these resources at his disposal and quite frankly, he's a rabbit in the headlights facing an inevitable doom.
Lovely man I'm sure. But a football manager who has a clear glass ceiling and has demonstrated he cannot take his work to the next level.

When you want your team's manager to go and be replaced  I always think what is it that you want to see thats different and I've asked this question before of my mates who follow other clubs
For some winning 1-0 with any fashion of football is ok as long as we're winning, under Rowett i even thought of not going to games as his style was very negative and on the back foot.
For me we are already getting to a situation where top 2 is looking a long way off and all i want to see is some decent football and us trying to control games with a bit of nous from the touchline
I do not see Warne being able to do that so therefore I am definitely in the Warne out camp now, he tried its not a good fit and more importantly I think he's been given enough time and its just not working, sometimes managers don't suit certain clubs.
It has been seen many times including when Mac came here and took over Clough's team that the correct change can be very beneficial and that ha to happen now in my opinion
Warne will be ok and do ok at a Rotherham or a Wycombe but he's just not right for us
Clowes has to act or this season could be a write off, seeing the fans reaction today is not good but justified but I will say Hourihane had the guts to go to fans and didn't hide and just walk off
Warnock, Warburton or Eustace now would be my shortlist and maybe would give us the lift we require because it just isn't working, do feel for Warne because he's a decent man but I'd like it now if he walked away and said thanks he tried

He’s put himself in this position with his overseeing of recruitment. Both Pompey and Oxford had big squad turnovers. They went for younger players wanting to work their way up through the divisions. We went for the tried and tested dross that has got us nowhere in the last 10 years. The signings of Washington, Waghorn and Bradley could have probably got us x 5 players wanting to put their all in for a massive club!

There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’
No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham.
Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷‍♂️

Wonder what all those chances that Warne is harping on that we've missed would be. The truth is that the Shrews were closer to 2-0. We currently have nothing to suggest that it will turn around.
The bitter truth is that we are embarrassingly bad unfortunately. To see Derby run over by modest opposition in L1 is depressing.
