You have to laugh. We could go a calendar year without winning a game in this state ?

Save your money. We’ll finish above Boro, Forest and Bristol City rattling half the Championship as Jozwiak and Bielik tear them all a new one.
    It’s written in the stars.

Yeah we decided not to be around the half and half scarf wearers, we chose today as the real first game.
Was 10.40am I managed to convince @Leanne we had to go, fair to say it’s been a rush, not even had chance to do me hair! ?

@DarkFruitsRam7 has just text me to remind me that the last game before the first lockdown, Blackburn, we went together.
First game back and we’re going together. It’s kinda cute he has a diary of our relationship to remind me of these things otherwise I would forget.
I would post a picture from that day but he’s very upset I have that picture for some reason. Best not post it as I’m getting a free ticket off him for the missus, if I don’t get that and she has to wait outside in the car, I’ll be walking home.

No, but it’s clear the club have some bridges to rebuild with the fans.
Despite not achieving promotion we have had some real good atmospheres around the club, whilst some may find it hard to believe, we’ve been lucky.
Many clubs out there that have gone years without a sniff of any kind of cup or promotion to enjoy.
I don’t want to get into the blame game or the EFL’s role in the position we’re in, but it’s not a great situation.
Reading across social media, seeing so many fans feeling disconnected is not great, and as I say we need to see bridges rebuilt, ideally starting before the first game of the season.
I’m not one to call for answers from the club, I would rather they spend every hour working on improving the situation as we have too many outstanding issues that need resolving.
Saying that, I do feel like the club need to host a fan forum asap, whilst some see these as nothing more than PR stunts, some good PR is needed to lift the spirits.
I fear the atmosphere for the opening game could be extremely toxic if we go into the start of the season under so many question marks.
As fans though, we need to play our part no matter how hard it is, we have to get behind the players we have and Rooney, dial back the criticisms and as cliche as it sounds, be that 12th man/woman.
If we can’t do that in our hour of need, then why are we even here?
Toxic atmospheres, attacking the club will not help the situation at all, it just won’t, so the question is, how much do we love this club? Right now is the time to show it and come together and try to focus on the positives and help create some optimism going into what will be a difficult season without a doubt.

I think there is a perfect storm of stuff that is contributing to me losing virtually all interest in the Rams, a club I have supported since 1967.
    In no particular order:
On the pitch: Playing low entertainment football, no real crowd pleaser, low goals rate. Cobbled together team of old men and kids without a clear policy.
Off the pitch: Total shambles of an organisation, apparently in conflict with people who can really hurt you, HMRC EFL. Owner who has gone silent. The car crash fallout really showed the club up in a terrible light in so many ways.
Match scheduling: Its great to have footy available almost every night on TV but as a live football fan I want 3:00 on a Saturday. Mid week and oddball times really irritate me, particularly sitting freezing on a mid week winter game . Result I'lll stay at home and watch good football in the warm (heresy I know, but it is what it is).
Price: Saving on two tickets, car park etc easily covers Sky, BT Sport, Amazon Prime subscriptions with left overs for a few decent bottles of Scotch.
CoVid showed how quick you can find other stuff to do on match days.
Hard fans will say there reasons for each of the above issues, but it's a bit like the old Chinese Water torture (other nations are available), the cumulative effect gets to you. AND IT HAS.

TBH when Longson sacked Clough that was the worst ever.

Because Mel, for all his good business sense in the real world, isn't able to run a football club.
He could have gone down as the best chairman the club has ever seen, but rather than use his money to secure the long term financial future for the club, he has continuously gambled to try and get to the Premier League.
No fan should be blamed for backing him when he was spending money, because how were we to know that Bill's werent being paid, until now?
I know it wasnt his intention, but he has brought the club to its knees and unless something changes quickly, this season could be our last in the championship for a while.

He genuinely might go down as the owner that kills us.

Which makes me angry but also sympathetic. There’ll be no one as upset as him if it comes to that. He was poured in well over £200m from his personal wealth so he’s not some sort of dodgy owner. He’s just made poor decision after poor decision.

Been saying it for a while now mate, Mel has made a pigs ear out of running DCFC, his decisions has left us in the worse state that anyone could have imagined, just hope someone buys the club ASAP, or who knows what could happen.

Resurrected this thread as I’ve had a change of heart. I’ve been a supporter of Mel, I thought he’d just made the mistake of giving supporters what they asked for: ‘sack this manager, sack that manager’, ‘sign this player, sign that player’. All good intentioned, genuine but just slightly misguided.
…But now I’ve got to ask, how on earth has Mel let it get to this stage? We knew we’d have to resubmit accounts - why weren’t they ready? Why are we so late on submitting the latest accounts? Why have we accrued so much debt with HMRC - The alleged £20m is a lot in anyone’s book but this has to be paid! Why have we not set payment terms with HMRC? How were managers allowed to spend so much with no care for the future?

I blame the recruitment team (and whoever sanctioned them) for identifying players who would cost a lot of money in transfer fees and wages, who weren’t anywhere near as good as they thought, and whose value diminished like water going down a drain. A succession of atrocious purchases - in which we continued to carry out for a long time.
There wouldn’t have been any need to muck about with players amortisation rubbish if they’d have identified players who would improve and who would grow in value.
Why the same lot are still here is beyond my comprehension.
