I'd settle for losing Knight and Bielik if we can keep Bird and Sibley at least one more season.
Don't think I will get the opportunity to choose, though!

Fully agree - I think each would be class at this level but equally this is a level below where they should be playing. If they were older I'd maybe ask them to give another season to see if we can bounce straight back - but at their ages they need to be progressing and can only happen playing a better quality of opposition than they'll face with us.
I don't think Sibley will go anywhere though - Derby lad. Equally I think Bird will stay. As internationals aiming to keep their places I think Bielik and Knight will be looking for moves and if a fair bid comes in then I think it would be right to take it. As much as it's galling for us, none of the players got us into this mess and on the pitch last season they kept us up... So it's hard to justify standing in their way of leaving.

Maybe I've missed something in the interim (have been keeping my head in the sand for the last few months) but didn't Quantama previously say that any named preferred bidder would have to put up a non-refundable £5m? I've always assumed that's the reason Kirchner has been saying he'd be "funding the club" from the 7th regardless of the takeover status at that point...

It's just reached the point of pure embarrassment, from Boro, Wycombe and the EFL.
All those rival fans that are finding joy in all this when they could easily be next, wake up.
The game is littered with utter BS, we tried to find a different way with amortisation to compete with those awarded millions for failure, which the EFL retrospectively on Gibson's request found us guilty.
    Naughty Derby, grow up.
Rules have been retrospectively added to cover the EFL arses. Google enhanced embargo, see what comes up, Derby County, there was never a enhanced embargo before all this, it's something you came up with as Mel Morris publicly challenged you.
Meanwhile we have state owned clubs when sponsorships for official hotels, soaps and rubber ducks for 10x what they could buy this club for in the Premier League.
Do you not even realise how anti competitive the league that's responsible for your revenue is, do you not realise that the very existence of the Championship relies on multi millionaires prepared to be losing upwards of half a million a month, it's not sustainable even by your own rules.
Derby County reject a bid for their player which could be derisory, yet the EFL are on our case, are we in the position now where we have to sell Jason Knight for a fiver to keep Rick Parry happy, if that's the case then just end the game now.
We lost Kaide Gordon to Liverpool for a bag of monster munch and Freddo over that deal you agreed with the PL, how is that looking after your member clubs when they have to gift wrap the young stars that have been educated both on an off the field to satisfy the greed of the top 6 in this country.
Explain the benefit of that deal to your member clubs, please explain as from the fans that love the game, all we see is our clubs being screwed over.
Out of 2 play off finals which we were beaten, we were beaten by clubs that would have failed EFL FFP, we took it on the chin yet here we are, one club using bookies odds to build a case and another that didn't even earn promotion on merit jeopardising the existence of this club.
Meanwhile the MSM are far more interested in the likes of Man United and Newcastle to even realise what is going on outside the gold pit. The game is dying whilst the "journalists" are far more interested in finding the next tweet to create a clickbait article than actually do their jobs.
Nobody wants to touch it, why? We have a Serbian tennis player refused entry to a country and tournament, everyone, every journalist in sport is weighing in as we're sat here in limbo over let's not forget, retrospective punishment.
The EFL signed off our accounts that we have now been punished for, let that sink in.
I'm sick of it, sick of the rival fans looking to take the piss without understanding the situation, sick of the incompetent governing bodies, sick of Gibson and that Wycombe numpty.
We've rolled over, accepted the retrospective punishment, saved the EFL embarrassment of explaining themselves in court, yet the EFL are too gutless to tell the curly haired one to shut up as they are in fear of landing themselves in court over the utter shambolic way they have ran this league.
Grow some balls Rick, accept some responsibility over how the investigations were handled and do the right thing, tell Gibson to F off, tell Wycombe to F off and learn from your mistakes.

I reckon if you're trying desperately to show the manager that you should be getting more first team action you're probably going to be a little more selfish / always try for the spectacular
Also worth noting that a certain ex-Manager of ours was known for his prolific 'wastefulness' - One of the worst shots to goals ratios in the PL (I remember his rate of return being unfavourably compared to Huddlestone at one point) - Chap also scored more goals for Chelsea than anyone else ever, is the only PL midfielder to score more than 150 PL goals and is 4th in the all time PL assists ranking
I often think one of our biggest problems is we try and walk the ball into the net - Always trying to create the 'perfect' chance - Lawrence is the only one who seems to speculate on a half chance every now and then - Wouldn't be the worst thing to have another player in there who can/will do the same

People's openness to ridicule should be defined by themselves, not by others - If people come here to express serious opinions (whether you agree with them or not) ridiculing them is disrespectful and rude
Personally I think we're going down and have been for a while - We're a good defensive side but the stat which is killing us is being 22nd in the league for goals scored - If you can't score enough goals you can't win games
That said - I respect the people who hold out faith - In a lot of ways they're much better people than I am and I wish I held more of their positivity.
Worth a thought that in 19 out of our 20 league games this season a single goal would have changed the result... Assuming an average goals scored tally so far (24ish), a striker to provide those 7 goals and an even distribution of those goals across our games we'd be around 10 points better off - It's not completely unreasonable to suggest we're a 15 goal a season striker away from being able to give survival a really good go
Not that I actually think it's going to happen - Just saying it's not as cut and dried as you suggest

cheron85 got a reaction from Foxy Ram in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
I'm as frustrated as pretty much everyone else by the EFL's whole attitude and approach - They have essentially moved the goalposts to screw us (and the chaps who ran the club previously just didn't bother to check with the league where the goalposts were at any given time)
However - There's a bit buried in the EFL's decision doc which puts clarity on the FRS 102 thing - They say "account standards in the context of the EFL's Regulations" - Which essentially means "we don't care what the legal position is, we're a member organisation and therefore can apply whatever rules we like and you have to live with them"
It's a little pointless arguing one way or the other now - It's done, it's over, we're going down. Next season we can start afresh, we're allowed to extend contracts of current players and bring people in on a free. The big difference is that the administrators decided it was best to cut this fight short, take the hit and move on.

I would imagine some of our players would value the couple of games rest every now and then which a larger squad allows you
The chances of us bringing in 11 players of vastly greater quality than the current squad are highly unlikely, but since the current squad have shown they can win games and compete with some fairly decent sides at this level, adding a few extra options and some fresher legs every now and then should probably benefit us
    Yep
It's been a poor couple of weeks - And the lack of wins and endless draws were draining
But worth remembering we ended Cov's 100% winning Home start, Swansea, Huddersfield and Luton are all doing fairly well, we deservedly beat Stoke, got a hard fought draw against West Brom
Worth remembering we've lost five games so far - 3 sides in the top 6 have lost five games too - This league can be properly topsy turvy and a bit more efficiency in the final third can be the difference between and good and bad run of games
Okay that's drained me of all remaining positivity
