Can you imagine how many ‘erms’ Colleen got when he got home that Sunday morning?

I’d pay more to watch a live stream of this than a game.

    Exclusive:
Curtis Davies signs for Derby after being serenaded by manager Wayne Rooney with a unique version of Meatloaf's hit song "2 out of 3 aint bad"
it went "I want you (i want you) I need you (i need you) there aint no way I'm ever gonna pay you, but don't be sad, 'cos 2 out of 3 aint bad"

Agreed. Jagielka is the one out of the trialists that I thought we really should try and pick up off the back of his games in the preseason. He looked sharp and still had some legs to him. Think he will be a decent pick up for a lot of clubs at this level for a season.

The most important player we could have signed is Curtis Davies. If that's done, any others are just a bonus. Would rather play Sibley and Watson than Morrison and Carroll.

what's the point in having an academy if the players are mothballed as opposed to bringing them through?
Some will sink, others will swim.

Part of me hopes we don’t sign all these triallists. We’ve spent ages being unable to get rid of deadwood due to the impact on finances, so why make whopping losses after finally having to bite the bullet only to be lumped with someone else’s deadwood? It’s another manager - and owner’s - problem further down the line.
I’d rather just start again with the kids, even if it ruins this season and we go down. Wait until we have funds to sign players we actually want. Scraping the bottom of the barrel for what’s left is just delaying the inevitable.

Marshall has got to be leaving then. I know he was effectivly dropped at the back end of last season because rooney didn't like his attitude, it'll save a few pennies on wages to.
Big love to Curtis for staying. I thi nk that's a big boost.
If we sell Lawrence to WBA, well, lets hope there's a plan for that that.

I find it interesting that we have got more information from Ravel Morrison deleting a tweet and unfriending us on social media than we got from a 4 hour meeting with Mel Morris on Wednesday night.

They are Derby players. Let's get behind them.
They have showed incredible dedication in signing for way below the going rate, so I for one applaud them and I am not going to use words like 'god awful'. 'Thank you' would be more appropriate.

And also spent the bulk of the preseason time on them.....
Davies signing is something at least but with Stearman... I'd rather just give Cashin a shot

So we've essentially not signed any of the trialists that looked half decent

Here is a different option - the EFL could raise the bar on what an established player is from one appearance to three which may actually please a few other clubs as well whilst being a bit more realistic on what an established player is.

I couldn't agree more. Imagine if Neil Hallam was around.
Even simple, probing journalism about stuff like the ticket office being closed and the phone lines down, let alone everything else!
I realise that newspapers, especially local ones, are pretty much dead but you would have thought that these people would be fighting for answers on our behalf. Probably too worried about frosty relations with the club / getting cut out, but getting cut out from what? They don't get anything other than anodine interviews with players saying that they 'will go again' and how the performance 'wasn't acceptable'.

That's not how minutes work, as I'm sure you're intelligent enough to know.
Minutes are an accurate record of what was said by all parties during a meeting.
Sure, if the club were to release them, they'd be redacted to obscure the parts an NDA would cover, but that's no different to the scenario we find ourselves in now, without the pressure to comply falling on individual attendees shoulders.
It's members of the club hierarchy abdicating responsibility for communication, which frankly should be a given, and lining up ordinary members of the public to be targeted in their place.
    Gutless.

'Enormous pressure' is being a neurosurgeon, a midwife delivering babies day on day out, or an ambulance driver arriving at the scene of an accident.
Enormous pressure is not worrying about whether Derby may or may not sign anyone ahead of the first game of the season or how to tell people what was said in a meeting.
People need to get a grip on reality.
Derby have been in various messes before and come through them...fortunately they were pre twitter and fan entitlement or there would have been armageddon.

    Exactly. Why drag representatives there?
Why not gather a list of questions - 99% of which they must have expected, and do an interview or even a statement to address them. I feel for @David, I really do.

Pathetic really that we’ve come to this.
