If you could bottle up the feeling you get when you first hold your baby and sell it you'd have more money then you can count.
I've never felt anything like it. Every emotion dialed up to 11 and injected straight in to your brain at the same time.

Just know that, just because you are the dad, you can do nothing right in the first weeks. This isn’t as bad as it seems, mum will be confused, exhausted and overwhelmed too, she still loves you.
Accept offers of help, don’t be too proud. Grandparents will treat that baby like the most precious thing in the world, let them help.
you’re going to be tired beyond endurance, because even if they don’t wake up for feeds, you will need to go check they’re ok!
You will be filled with the most amazing love for her but if she goes out into the world an independent and happy girl you will have done a great job.

I was quite pleased to see her before the game. At the end, I never want to see her again. What a dreadful, inconsistent shocker of a ref

It looks like I struck a chord with the opening post and I'm very pleasantly surprised that it kicked of a bit of an 'Arguers Anonymous' therapy session, with several posters being honest and contrite enough to hold their hands up and admit to getting drawn into personal spats.
On the evidence of this thread, most of the members of Arguers Anonymous are not your archetypal keyboard warrior but seem like Rams-mad, articulate, intelligent people who on occasions let themselves go a bit too far. It gives me hope it can become largely self-regulating.
I don't want to leave the forum and I'm reluctant to use 'ignore' as many of the things that irk me are good points made in a poor way - but I'd like it to be a bit more footy focused and a bit more civil and I sort of get the impression that several self-confessed arguers would like the same - without losing the core element of the forum........opinions, debate, humour and camaraderie.
I don't understand computer coding so no idea if I'm asking for a 2 minute fix or 2 years of hard work but could we add something like B4's panda profile pick to the emoji list so that anyone can, very politely, give a bit of a 'could you have made your (often completely valid) point in a less provocative way' nudge?.......i.e. be a bit more B4

Not really if I'm honest with you, this forum without the members is an empty shell of code, it's the members that make the forum a community.
It's really on you all to shape the community with how you communicate with each other.
We can set guidelines, moderate content, even disable polls to avoid the in out after every result, however unless we go all North Korea it really is on you all.
The forum has topic summaries now below the first post, maybe check that and try to voice your opinion without being in the top 4 posters for a prolonged period?
I haven't been on nowhere near as much myself,  life offline is pretty hectic, then the spare time I get, do I want to spend that filling my head with the constant streams of negativity over matters that seem so minor compared to last year.
Thought we would have had more of grace period of just being happy to have a club to support, wasn't expecting the bile to be spewed so quickly but here we are, and that's the frontline where the fight is being fought.

I wish this forum had a ‘you’re tedious’ button. I agree with the OP, I usually pop in and quickly out again as the thread I’m interested in has descended into a boring playground spat

I'm a reasonably diplomatic, boring, steady middle aged bloke.
I'm reasonably well educated and can write reasonably well so try to choose words on this forum that express an opinion that may be different to others, without deliberately causing offence. I certainly don't have 'poor writing' or 'poor vocabulary' as anything like an excuse if I were to cause offence.........but, without being patronising, I do understand not all so-called offensive posts are intended to be offensive.
However, it's apparent that I'm not alone in finding it tiresome that almost every single thread deteriorates into a game of point scoring, oneupmanship and, increasingly, forum archeology, in order to be unpleasant to one another.
There seems to be, in equal measure, deliberate attempts to cause offence and seek offence and it's just not great reading. I'm not in the slightest bit supportive of closing down debates or censoring differences of opinion but the number of personal spats with unpleasant language is getting beyond a joke.
I can't blame the mods because, individually, most of these posts fall below the threshold of complaint but, collectively, they make this forum so much worse than it could be.
I came to this forum for camaraderie when we nearly went under as a club - and it was a source of great comfort, information and humour.
It's got to the point where I'm considering signing off and and using the Telegraph and Radio Derby as my main non-matchday links - they have limitations but they are civil.
Any ideas what we can do?

Should anyone "beat" our record purely due to a points deduction, I will refuse to accept it.
If we are to be beaten, it needs to be on merit!  🤣

    Our record will be broken.
Nor are we the "laughing stock of English football" like it or not, many won't even have a clue who has the worst points tally ever.

Speak for yourself , the man saved derby county and gave me back my love of football and everything derby , I live and work in london swamped by chelsea , arsenal , Man U ect fans and a good few of them follow derby results , will us on , have banter and most of all see me as a proper football fan with season tickets travelling miles upon miles and see derby as a proper club , this god forsaken league 1 ? Since Mel drove our club to the wall I’ve started to experience the real passion and rollercoaster that football should be again, I’ve watched us win the league twice in my lifetime and they were great times but were wins any better feeling than wins today with the south stand and half the ground singing 21 points ?     NO,
derby county mate ,,, that’s it 🤷🏻‍♂️, if we are meant to go up we will , if we are meant to compete at the top table again we will but I’m in no hurry to put pressure on clowes run before we can walk or place us in the hands of somebody with no connection with or understanding of our club and city to be a toy till they get bored 🤷🏻‍♂️

How have you calculated our likelihood of us staying in this league at 60%?

Fans who care a deal more about being right than they do their club winning. I didn't want Warne but I'm so feckin sick of the carping from certain 'supporters' on here I hope he sees out his contract now just to wind them up.
