I li-li-like it, li-li-li

Are you saying the puns don't sit well with you?
I don't think people have gone sofa with them yet. Lot's more room for some word play.
Perhaps a mod can change your name to Ottoman and change your profile pic to Oscar the Couch?

Still high after yesterday’s result! 😅
A shame the international break happens after a result like that, it would be nice to continue the momentum onwards.
Excited to see what the season brings now we’ve shown we can compete with established top half teams and we’ve got players who weren’t even available yesterday.
From the back to the front:
JWZ is excellent and calm. His kick accuracy needs work, but he is quick thinking and can launch an attack for our speedy forwards to latch onto and this will be valuable this season. Also, how good were his recoveries for second saves etc.? The way he throws his frame around reminded me of Schmeichel.
This was a solid back 4, but Cashin the only one you think would move the ball forward consistently. Does Phillips get straight into the team, or does he have to wait on the bench? Lots of RB options with Nyambe for defensive security and Ward/Wilson for more attacking setups. Elder was quietly impressive yesterday but I feel this is the next area of the defence we’ll need to look to improve. Osbourne can play there and Nyambe can maybe shift across if needed.
Midfield 3 were immense! Adams cleaning up early on when we were under pressure, but as Goudmijn and Ozoh got their teeth into the game there was less pressure on him.
Attacking 3 used their pace perfectly and their pressing unity really put pressure on the Bristol defence. Goudmijn got a chance from a first half press and was unlucky not to convert it. We have some serious pace up front now and with trickery of Chirewa and Harness to add and some minutes for Brown, we have the options to frighten a lot of champ defences this season. I hope Warne continues to use Brown over Collins from the bench as he is now with us until Jan at least.
All in all, Warne has some difficult choices to make on the team sheet each week now, which is much better than what we seemingly had a week ago.
Can’t wait for the next match, but I’ll have to 😬

Maybe Luthra won't be picked for the squad and if one of our first team GKs gets injured then one of the young'uns gets a bench spot. I'm pretty sure he's been signed to round out numbers for training but also to fill in in the u21s if we have some injury issues.

This is complete guesswork/speculation, but I’d say that those with immediate paths “blocked” to the first team are in our u21 team. This group haven’t really shown as much promise as some of the lads in the u18 group IMO.
With the younger lads there is more time to integrate and find gaps to fit them into the squad and a lot of our current first team won’t be about by the time this crop is ready, so I think there will be opportunities if we plan the squad strategy accordingly and the players develop as planned.
