'Under EFL regulations, it is understood there is no possible recourse for Derby to challenge the decision.'

Bit like one of those dictatorship regimes, innit?

Erik takeover is a bit doggy.

What lead you to this opinion?

Make no bones about it, you might be right.

He doesn’t really have any pedigree as a football club owner.

Hope we aren’t barking up the wrong tree.

  3. For me, if we do get relegated tomorrow, I think we should stick with the youngsters and let go of the high earners (reported relegation clauses in their contracts should help shift deadwood I hope). A season (hopefully max) at League 1 should help the likes of Buchanan, Knight, Bird and Sibley to add some strength to their game and we should have enough about us to be at the right end of the table.

Dream scenario (if we go down): The youngsters in the squad, that we know have talent, stay on and get a full season of winning football and confidence back in their games, preferably under a coaching team that will allow them to grow. And when we're back in the Championship we'd carry on that confidence and be at the top half of the table again, with our own products.

Of course, I'd rather we stay up because going down has too many variables and most of them are bad.

CKR half fit, struggling to name another. ?

I was kinda counting Waghorn as he's played up front recently and we keep getting reminded that he prefers to play centrally.

You can't possibly blame Sky for this. That's like saying, "she was asking for it."

To clear things up I wasn't blaming Sky, but I could see that them showing repeated clips of him after he'd been subbed off might rub some people up the wrong way.

I'm happy for the lad that he is getting game time at a good club that will hopefully help lift his career to higher levels than he was achieving here.

  6. Yeah, this sort of thing has to stop. But you could tell it was going to happen. Added to the fact he scored a goal that could send us down, it didn't help that Sky kept showing him smiling and talking to team mates on the bench after being subbed off was going to wind up some brainless twits.

The lad hasn't done anything wrong, just doing his job. If anything we should be blaming the club for selling him and not having a striker like him available when we really need him. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but the amount of bad luck we've had with the squad over the last couple of years is crazy and having only 2 fit options that are strikers when we can't score consistently might be the final nail in the coffin.

From a business perspective, that's an enormously bad idea. When the best outcome is that we can sell more expensive tickets, why wait for it to resolve? By waiting all we do is risk a worse outcome. Flog them ASAP whilst there's still a chance.

Fine margins, but I'd expect lower ST prices for League 1 would attract more buyers compared Champ priced ST's for League 1 football. I imagine, if fans are allowed back, it would be better to try and fill the stadium rather than have it empty due to people not wanting to pay a premium to watch us play AFC Wimbledon.

  8. If Swansea beat Reading then we have all the automatic promotion teams plus all the playoff teams decided.

I don’t doubt that they’ll want a favourable team position to get a good draw in the play-offs but perhaps they’ll be cautious not to lose any players to injury and field a less than full strength line up.

A draw against Swansea and Rotherham to get nothing from their next 2 and I will believe that we are safe (although we technically won’t be).

Wish we could’ve held onto that lead today.

This thread's the forum equivalent of Dave.

Slightly amusing at first, then the constant repetition and lack of originality chips away any warm feelings you once had until you can't wait to punch it in the face, repeatedly.

Mind, it's not as bad as the TV channel of the same name.

Don’t be so grumpy. I’m rather fondue a good pun.

To lighten the uninformed speculation somewhat, is there a consensus view as to whether it would be preferable for the backers to be Thai or Indonesian?

I thought perhaps a Thai backed redevelopment of Bubbles into the "dcfc relaxation and health regeneration zone" would go down well with supporters. If it is the Indonesian backers there's some pretty rich ones available ?

Maybe a North Korea or Myanmar vibe to distract us from the other issues.

No I am not but I am from an Indian family who support other religions but even if Alonso is against these religions too I wouldnt feel aggrieved unless he did something within his power to aggrieve me but I would like to think as a fan base if Alonso came in and said right no muslim, sikh, gay season ticket holders that majority of fans would boycott the games.

That is the sort of answer I like. I think a lot of the time a lot of people (on all sides of arguments) are just diving in to shout the loudest. If we can all take time to think about a calm and measured response then that would help in the understanding a lot.

My main concern is that he is/was an active member of this Vox political party, so likely shares a lot of views that I personally don't. This wouldn't be a real concern if he'd cast a vote a few times, but he is/was (I'm not sure currently) a full member who stood for senate. I sincerely hope he doesn't bring those ideologies with him in whatever role he might be playing at DCFC now or in the future.

  12. The way the statements are worded we seem to have taken the reverse approach with this transaction. Get the money sorted first and then go to the EFL for the Directors test. How long do we think that'll take? 48 hours?
