I don’t get this hang up on wealth. We’ve had a rich owner; let’s just wish for a good one.
in any case, Delia Smith and Michael Wynn-Jones have a wealth less than a sixth of the Clowes family and they have run Norwich pretty well for the last 25 years.

I'm sorry, but it feels like if a consortium of Rooney, Clough and Wanchope made an offer people would be critical. I have a bottle of bubbly, and if this is confirmed it is going into ice. I, frankly, don't care who the new owner is - so long as WE survive.
This guy doesn't own Sports Direct, he is not an American charlatan, he has his wealth in the UK, so no US money laundering. He actually supports the club. We might be adrift in the ocean, but we have just spotted a small vessel with the British Ensign.
Nothings done until there is ink on paper, but at least the printer is going to being switched on.

No, no, no - that's not how it's done. Please send those funds to the USA and then back to a European Clearing Bank, then on to lawyer's client account, then they'll be ready.
Have these people never seen Ozarks?
Bloody basics!

Perhaps the idiom you're searching for is pass muster?

There is a transfer of contractual undertakings when an employer changes. It was brought in to protect workers whose jobs were 'contracted out'. Assuming the Club is sold as a going concern (albeit with compromised debt) the players' employers will not change at all.
In other words, Mel Morris did not employ the players, DCFC Ltd does, and still will.

This whole TUPE thing; it’s nonsense unless the club gets liquidated. The Administrators are selling the business ‘Derby County Football Club Limited’ as a going concern so the players would not be changing employers - just that the company that employs them has new owners.
