We're still under EFL restrictions and we're still turning the ship around.  Its gonna take time and there are gonna be ups and downs along the way. 
I think both David Clowes and Paul Warne (and his staff) are honourable men and will get it right if given enough time, some of the comments I've read on the forums this week have been borderline delusional. 
It's sad that modern day society demands instant success whilst conveniently ignoring where we've come from and the strides we've made.  Yeah recent results and performances haven't been great - and no one knows that more than Warne himself, but turning on the manager and booing the players 135 minutes into a season isn't helping. 
Warne's said we need players in, the transfer window is still open and they are working around the clock to bring the right people in - our squad may look a lot different in a few weeks time.  Whether we can afford the players we want/need however is another matter, beyond Clowes/Warnes control and a legacy of Mel Morris tenure and the EFL. 
Sacking a proven manager at this level not even a year into a 4 year deal, whilst we're still hamstrung by the EFL would set alarm bells off imho - shades of Mel Morris hiring and firing culture.  Paul Warne has been bought into a club on its knees, tasked with rebuilding it from top to bottom and getting us promotion.  Whilst we would all like the progress graph to be a nice, smooth upward curve, real life is rarely that simple.  A kneejerk reaction from the club now would set us back further than we already are.

I guess my feelings are that we were led to believe this was going to be a fit, hungry group of players. 
The friendlies (and yes I know they’re no real barometer) saw us playing some nice stuff to feet. I was a little alarmed at how easy teams found it to create chances, even though (esp Stoke) they missed a lot.
When I saw the team for Saturday I thought we would struggle to score, but I thought we would be well-organised and difficult to break down. With two very experienced central defenders and an upcoming defensive talent, we should have dealt with Wyke and Co without too much trouble.
What I saw was very chaotic and troubling.
Bradley looks like he’s going through a crisis of confidence. Nelson regularly over hits passes. Cashin doesn’t seem to know how to play alongside them.
They aren’t bad players, they are good players playing badly. I think our defending will improve dramatically. I am less confident about what will happen in front of them. In order to get the variety we need in midfield, we need two new players.
We have three hardworking but toothless old forwards and we seldom look like getting on the end of crosses. Collins raised hopes with easy goals when unmarked in friendlies but when he is marked creates no threat at all. Washington might help another score, as might Waghorn, but we haven’t got the pace or guile to make half a yard to score goals. 
I think that will take two more players. That’s four to find, just to become competitive. 
I really hope Warne gets those four, because I don’t think any manager would succeed with what we have. Sibley and Barkhuisen will offer more from the bench, with occasional starts. 
I think we also need to have more faith in Bardell and Rooney who have energy and enthusiasm to play progressive football.
Warne seems to want success, but also wears his heart very much on his sleeve. Good managers should look full of energy to put things right, not dejected, no matter how bad they are feeling.
The players need lifting up, not to be vilified. They have to believe they are good enough to beat Burton. I’ll be rooting for them. Even if they lose, I will settle for passion, positive play and a shape which will be effective over the course of a season.

PREDICTION LEAGUE RULES
Every league game, I will start a thread on the 'Prediction League' page. I will go through the predictions you post  after each game and look for your prediction, and I'll attempt to keep a league table running.
 
 
It would help immensely if you could post the result in the following format
 
example :- Portsmouth 0 Derby 2 , Mendez-Laing FRGS
 
 
Points will be gained for the following correct predictions:
1 / For correctly nominating the winning team or a draw: +1 point
2 / For correctly nominating the first Rams goalscorer: +2 points
3 / For correctly predicting no Derby goals: +2 points ya miserable b'stards
4 / For correctly nominating the scoreline ,  ** with the teams the right way around ** , +2 points (so 3, including the point for predicting the winning team)
And no conditionals. No "If Sibley starts, then we'll win, but if he's on the bench we'll draw" stuff - pick a result and go for it.
A total of 5 points can be picked up per game.
I'll be looking at the last prediction you make in the thread. Only predictions made before kickoff will count, and if you go back and modify your prediction after kickoff, I'll not count it.
 
Just for fun and bragging rights , i'll attempt to make League Tables as i did last season , maybe not updating after every match but periodicly depending on how enthusiastic i become , all your predictions will be safely stored on my trusty fag packet  memory stick

Please try and avoid using players 'nicknames' as 'FRGS' as i may not recognise them.
