One of our main issues is that neither Smith or Bird score goals. That’s 2 out of our 3 midfielders, I’m not saying Bird should be sold because we’re so light in there and if we do sign a creative midfielder I’ll be intrigued to see who gets dropped. 
 
Probably Smith to be fair, but until we sign a decent striker and midfielder then unfortunately we’ll fall the wrong side of even matches like today.

Game hasn't been too bad, no way do they deserve to be leading, we have been the better team

Up until the goal we were really good, we’ve shat the bed since. 
Collins probably showing why we need better. His passing/hold up play has been wide of the mark and put us on the back foot. As has some really wayward passing/touches. 
Bird has had some touches of brilliance but floating through the game again. No point having him on days like today against better sides, has to get more involved. Same old so far. 
Plenty of positives amongst the sloppy bits too so hopefully we can turn it around.

Interesting to hear him almost admit that if we don’t get promoted this season then he could get sacked . We need stability and whilst he has been brought in as a League 1 promotion ‘expert’ I don’t want to see us changing mangers if we don’t manage it this season- much of the team still isn’t his and it will take another year to get that to that point - maybe a bit longer .
When he says that a couple of players he was after went to other League 1 clubs I’m sure one of those is Alfie May …
Man, he can talk ….. but a good interview albeit regurgitation of some stuff stuff we have heard before ..

Nice to see McGrath having a not-moan about the ball change. Not sure why really as the Aussies seemed to have enough problems laying a bat on a round ball, so I can't imagine playing with a square one would have helped.

Just a great last session to end an unbelievable series. Such a fitting way to finish, looking gone at 135-0 and then again at 264-3, to claw it back with 7 wickets for 70 runs just topped it off. 
Have just seen the Sky Sports News montage of the series and it's crazy how many controversies have been packed into the 5 games. So many talking points. It's been a tad better than Sibley and Burns blocking the life out of us all that's for sure. From the Crawley 4 first ball of the series to Mark Wood's arrival, sending Khawaja's off stump flying at 95 mph, to end it with Broad doing that - it really is fairly tale stuff. 
It just leaves you wanting more doesn't it? No more test cricket until India next year now and the shitty Hundred up next. Thankfully we have The Rams to cheer us up next week but there will still be a huge sporting void left by this incredible last 6 weeks.

Broad is a bit of an oddball, but he's also a fantastic cricketer and any player who makes Warner his bunny the way he has is alright with me. That said, I'm a tad miffed I've yet to find someone who looks at me the way Woody looks at Our Stuart...
