  1. A bit more than expected then.

We've got a nice bit of room to manoeuvre now we've signed Dak and not had to tag him, we should have enough to maybe grab a decent free agent vet and draft pretty freely now.

  2. Just now, Carnero said:

? overpaying Dak & Zeke means the roster will inevitably be weaker as a whole, welcome to 8-8 purgatory.

Welcome...?! We never left 8-8 purgatory! (Apart from last year, when we took a ride through 6-10 hell with Ben Dunucci at QB).

We'll probably win the next 3 Superbowls so we'll worry about it all after that. ?

Yeah... ignore everything I said. Well done to the Jones boys, lets draft some DEF and we're good to go!

    Why?

I just don't trust the Jones boys. Stephen says all the right things in the media, the latest being "deadlines make deals" yet this is the fourth "deadline" since discussions began. Franchise tag deadline tomorrow and if a deal isn't sorted before April 29th do we have to draft a QB just in case? Otherwise its 55 million to franchise tag him in 2022 which we just won't pay.

Playing hard ball over contract years yet threw silly money at their favourites Jaylon Smith and Tank Lawrence which we're now paying for. This guys your franchise QB, the best leader on the team and probably one of the best in the NFL, just sign him up. There's literally no reason not to. He showed in 2019 why he deserves top money and for the first few games again last year until his injury.

Love this sport but this is probably the most annoying part. Idiotic GM's and owners not sorting poo out properly.

  5. Not for me. Unimpressed up until the run in when we got the results we needed. I still have nightmares about Bristol City away - how we came away 2-0 winners amazes me still.

Saying that, I'll remember that Play Off Semi-Final very fondly. He made an absolute poohouse out of Leeds United and their fanbase to the point where we can all throw on Amazon Prime right now and bask in fully grown men crying to a camera. You can't knock that.

This is much more to do with quality of spinner and pitch than it is to do with batting   Except in Archer’s case obviously

Think thats where we disagree then Kev.

India far superior with the spinning ball of course but these batsmen are simply not good enough to play spin in these conditions. Openers have been undone too easily. Bairstow and Pope playing lines that sent them packing within minutes.

We all cried about the pitch last time and then Ashwin put on a 100. We've just not been good enough.

England have failed miserably and I can’t believe what’s happening.

    That's the bottom line.

Pitches haven't been great but we're just no where near where we need to be vs India in India. I was happy to get a win on the board in the first match, was expecting 4-0.

I don't really care that we've gone with an extra seamer, that decision won't lose us the match. A first innings of 112 will. We could have picked 5 spinners but if we can't put a good total on vs this India side it won't matter a great deal!

Maybe an extra actual spinner might have helped.

  9. On day 1 I thought it was a bad pitch but we're now 2 days further in and its playing exactly the same. India playing to their strengths - I don't have a massive problem with it. Annoying as it takes the game away from us a little but it's down to us to be better vs spin. The fact Ashwin is looking good on 60 odd says to me the pitch isn't that bad at this stage.

  10. Imagine being branded "ill advised" when he'll have the chance to play for Liverpool, in the Champions League and a better chance to play for England. The chance to pay off his mortgage, his mums mortgage and still have enough to waste on 28 average sports cars of his choice by the end of his first pro deal.

Or stay at Derby where wages don't get paid on time and you may end up in League One.

The whole reaction to this debacle from certain Derby fans is absolutely laughable. The club screwed Keogh over there's no way two ways about it. Admitting it doesn't make you any less of a fan, it doesn't mean you now love Keogh or even think he's a half decent footballer, but the facts are as plain as day. Keogh was treated differently than the other players involved in the incident because Derby desperately wanted him off the wage bill whilst he was injured. It's a sensible move by the club, but stop pretending that Keogh is somehow out of line for fighting this.

"But we only sacked him because he couldn't play", then why did the club release that statement about gross misconduct? Getting in a car with a drunk driver and not wearing a seat belt is gross misconduct, but actually being the drunk driver isn't? Then there's the nonsense about him being captain. I don't know how you lot treat captains of any teams you've been in, but if any of mine ever tried to pull rank on me away from a football field I'd have laughed in their faces. Lawrence and Bennett were 25 and 23 respectively at the time. Both plenty old enough to understand how the law works without the intervention of their captain.

I agree or can relate with most of this bar the captain bit.

I think being club captain is a lot more than just pulling rank in this instance. There's a huge amount of responsibility to be the leader of the playing staff, not just flipping a coin twice a week. The title could be; Captain, Team Leader, Manager, CEO... whatever - all these titles should be filled by people who lead by example and adhere to the values expected of their positions. Can Richard say he did on that night? Couldn't have been further from what was expected of him. He was the most senior ambassador for Derby County at that time, accountable for his squad and their actions. To say he shouldn't be treated any different is wrong in my opinion.

I'm a huge fan, wish him all the best with his career. He's been one of our better players for years, despite the denial from a chunk of the fanbase and we'll miss him (currently are IMO) so theres no bad blood from me. I just feel like he let himself and the club down by letting events spiral into what they did. This compounded with sending his agent onto national radio despite not releasing any form of statement? Is he even sorry? Has he taken any sort of responsibility for it? Its just ended messy.

Maybe the biggest factor behind sacking him was financial but the accountability and responsibilities he had as captain would have also played a part. Doesn't matter what profession you are in, if poo happens on your watch you'll be held accountable and rightly so.

  12. Just had a new watch for me birthday, very similar to the one in the OP but much cheaper!

Ted Baker, from Identity in Westfield. £150 but I got a 10% discount with my season ticket so got it for £15 cheaper. I don't think I was meant to get the discount mind, just kinda blagged it. They asked for my card as an employee of DCFC, Season ticket did the job!
