Apologies for the delay @Comrade 86 not been on for a few days. Especially in the States UA promote their gear and use hunting links including ‘big game’ to promote their clothing. That’s the massacre of wildlife especially endangered species. I’m certainly no expert but learnt about it several years ago. You can search online to find it.
I used to have some of their clothing but gave to charity once I found out.

All about an individuals choice I understand. Ethical brands are my thing so I have a little bit of knowledge, never enough!!

Ah, that's not cool. I didn't even know they sold hunting gear until you mentioned it and I did a quick search. Duly noted, though I did buy about £200's worth before Xmas as all my gym kit was fooked 😑

Christ - I skipped through that, he's a terrible public speaker, and clearly deranged 😂

I was just waiting for him to full on k-hole and fall off the stage 😵

Think back to the early days of him launching the Tesla range and how lucid and charismatic he was. He's like some rambling old pisshead these days. It's nice that he'd like to meet an alien though, though not the illegal type, obviously!

  3. Tried watching the Posh / Wankey Wanderers game, but it's like walking football. I'd expected Peterborough to try and stretch the play given the size of the pitch, but they've not looked good at all. WW just sitting deep and hoping Posh make a mistake. Not much chance of them being leggy against us at this rate, I've seen higher intensity training games.

That was last season tho, when they did stay up, no?

    Yeah, obviously 😂

The decline since him leaving is pretty dramatic all the same. Least I think so.

He doesn’t get many goals but the player I would like to see, in similar circumstances is Cashin.

I think he deserves it and would enjoy it.

Good shout. I've taken the mick out of Nels' finishing, but I wouldn't mind a towering bullet header from him either. That said, I'd be happy a scuffed shot that ricochets off 3 defenders then deflects in off Waggy's todger if it means promotion.

Maybe I am getting confused but this is what it says on the Companies House website:

each year, every company must file a set of accounts with Companies House, which show how a company has performed over the accounting period. This is required whether the company is trading or not.

And this is what is says on another government website:

All companies must send their accounts and reports to Companies House every year, whether:

    private or public

    large or small

    trading or non-trading

If you submit accounts late, the law imposes an automatic penalty. The period allowed to file your accounts depends on whether these are your first accounts since incorporation or subsequent accounts.

I know anyone can object to a company being struck off but surely a creditor isn’t going to let it stop there and if they did and the company continues not to file their accounts, isn’t the penalty doubled each year or something? (admittedly small fry compared to the companies likely other debts).

I guess we are both right. It clearly states that companies MUST file their accounts. Technically they don’t have to but, as with all legal requirements and laws, if you breach/ignore them there will be consequences. A fine might not deter a club (or it’s parent company) from filing their accounts but I think the EFL rules (section 16) state that sanctions will be applied if they don’t file their accounts with the registrar of companies (Companies House?).

Anyway, going back to the original point, didn’t DCFC file their accounts (and therefore were not in breach - well not until administration) because they were part of a larger group? Charlton have to file their accounts.

They'll get a fine, that's about it. The size of the fine will be down to how late they submit. There could be what the revenue refer to as 'exceptional circumstances' which would preclude any punishment, but the scope of what is considered is pretty limited and verges on the acts of God type stuff - death, fire, long-term absence of key individuals and the like.

If they are late again next year, that's when the revenue will get super pissy, though I do suspect they might be in a bit of bother already, in financial terms at least.

  7. I'd love it to be Nate, even though he's perhaps not in the same form as we saw earlier in the season. He's not as consistent as Cash, Curtis, or even Collo, but at his best he's untouchable in this league. The slight worry is that he's looked a tad frustrated in recent weeks and yes, I know he's not playing in his favoured position before I get jumped on!

I'll be crossing my fingers and everything else and praying he can find the energy and drive to fire us to promotion, before a long and very well-earned rest.

Well, I did get up early and I'm not really sure why I bothered. In race trim, the RBR car is untouchable and by that I mean either the drivers, or the engineers responsible for setting the cars up need to really make a mess of it for anyone else to have a chance. I thought it irritating to hear Max making a litany of excuses for Checo being so close in quali. Why not just give your fellow driver some credit, you bolshy, Belgian bar steward.

Leclerc drove beautifully, but was undone by being left out a couple of laps too long on tyres that were shot to pieces. Sainz, given a more balanced race strategy, again drove really well. Lando once again drove the wheels of his Maclaren and Hammy is clearly on the beach already, actually suggesting to his engineers that he let Russell past. Can you imagine the Hamilton of old doing such a thing? Nah, me neither. Toto's face throughout the race was a study of Teutonic irritation and it's a shame given their long and extremely successful collaboration, that it will end in a such a shabby manner. Hamilton has earned the thick end of a 1/4 of a billion from his Mercedes contracts and I can't help but feel that his timing lacked class and has undermined both his own season and that of his employers. Mercedes now have a car that is beautifully balanced, but somewhat lacking in straight-line pace, but if they can rinse some more oomph from the powertrain (something they've been historically very good at), he might find he's made the wrong call anyway. One senses that they moved heaven and earth to kill the porpoising issue, possibly focussing less on the engine in doing so, but they are moving in the right direction at last, if only slowly!

Little else to the race I thought, though it was lovely to see Yuki make the top 10 in front of his home crowd. A visit Japan, would be the only other thought. The contrasting, crazy Tokyo skylines to the incredible beauty of the more rural areas has plenty of appeal, though I suspect it'd cost a fair whack.

Just finished reading the first volume of the trilogy - no surprise that it won the Hugo award. Spellbinding.

I'll start the TV series tonight.

Having not read the novels, it's hard to know how well it has translated to film, but I really enjoyed the series. Some of the reviews on IMDB seemed to suggest it was hard to fathom, but I don't really get that. It does require a little attention, but no more than that. Hope you enjoy it anyway.

  11. Just caught the end og the Norwich / Ipswich game. Norwich hanging on a bit at the end of the game, though in fairness, Ipswich didn't look remotely like they might score. Commentator with an interesting stat though; last player to score a wining goal for Ipswich at Carrow Road was Darren Bent, 16 years ago!

Yeah we stuck by him through two ACL injuries, and only loaned him to Birmingham so he could secure his World Cup spot for Poland. Thought he would have made a big difference if he came back to us for the second half of last season, but chose to stay on loan with a side with nothing to play for. I lost all respect for him after that.

It may be that we just needed to offset his wages to fit in with EFL strictures or purely to reduce losses.

Suspect it's both tbh. I do think that his wages might have been an issue, but he clearly wasn't keen to stay in any case. Or maybe I'm just being a proper lemon 😂

You'll have to click to go to youtube, it's a recap of Kimi winning Japan in 2005.

It was a great race and a timely reminder of how blindingly quick Kimi was, but boy was the commentary annoying 😂

As it stands, I think that Suzuka 2005 was one of the very best  races I've seen, it simply had everything. I had a hunt around for some full race highlights and the best I could find was the two part video below, if anyone fancies it. Might have a look myself tonight as it was an absolute belter and if you've not seen it before, please do!

    Part 1: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4x5zbs

    Part 2: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4x1e8e

As for Suzuke 2024, well yours truly was awake at stupid o'clock this morning so I watched Suzuka quali sessions and despite the RBR 1-2, it was actually pretty interesting. Yuki again made it to the final session in front of his adoring fans, which was nice to see and will of course ensure that local interest is piqued. He's absolutely obliterating Danny Ric who is gone for all money to my eyes. Zero chance of an RBR seat all on recent form IMO and I doubt that the nice but dim Aussie will be drinking Bolly and his foot sweat again in F1, which I don't mind as it's weird and more than a tad icky.

Lando threw in a monster lap that briefly looked like it would secure him a front row spot, but he was pipped by an inspired Checo who was milliseconds behind the grumpy Belgian. Piastri briefly threatened to emulate Lando before faltering, but irrespective, I think he's hugely talented and has the skills and mindset to be a contender in years to come. Lando perhaps even more so though, but he'll need Mclaren to take another steep forward given his extended contract.

Mercedes yet again flattered to deceive and with track temperatures forecast to rise steeply prior to race time, they once again look like joining the ranks ofr the also-rans. The car looked very driveable, especially compared to recent seasons, but sadly, not very fast. Interestingly, despite looking disinterested recently, Hammy was comfortably quicker than Russell throughout quali, for all that's worth, but he's not looked racey at all when it matters since his announcement and I'd imagine that relations are pretty strained right now in the Merc garage.

A rejuvenated Carlos Sainz comfortably outpointed Leclerc again, but happy as I am to see the likeable Spaniard prosper, one has to ask where has this pace been up to now? Doing it once you know your seat is gone asks more questions than it answers for me. Surely RBR must fancy him a bit, but would Max and more importantly, would his overbearing dad who seems to be running the team as much as Horny boy these days.

The Astons were next best  but comfortably off the pace, even with Alonso driving the wheels off his car. They'll be hoping their race pace is significantly better.

The race is set to start an hour earlier than quali for some reason but aginst my better judgement, I'm probably going to be making coffee at 5.30am tomorrow!

  14. Bluenoses away to Leicester today, who had a double-digit lead break on the field at one point, but seem to have imploded in recent weeks. Hopefully they rediscover their form and heap more pressure on on the Bluenoses.

Slight tangent, but I wonder how Bielik will feel should Derby and Birmingham pass each other with them heading down and us heading up. I know it's petty, but his unwillingness to stay and fight for Derby still irritates me.

  15. When you look at some of the young players who have slipped through our fingers, by fair means or foul, it's quite depressing. As I recall, Timi had a couple of chances at senior level and took to it like a duck to water and for  me, this was bad one as it was our call, not the lure of the top 6. I'm not at all surprised that he's carving out a decent career for himself.

Quite possibly. I was wondering yesterday if a move away from United might do him good. But not sure whether anyone would be willing to pay the fee United would expect and the wages he'd expect given his lack of consistency.

If I were his agent I'd try to find a club abroad. I think he needs a time out from the English game, but yes, I absolutely agree he has to leave Utd. He's clearly not happy there.

And when they (Brum) go under, a big fat "Wake-In-The-Park-Weekend-Extravaganza"!  It'll be one heck of a send off!

A good few clubs sang that song, but the vitriol of the Brum mob really left an impression on me. I'd love to see them suffer what we did, not that it'll happen. I know I should not be so small-minded but I feckin loathe them.

It's a shame that he's probably not going to reach the ultra-elite level that he had the potential to reach. Seems like a mentality thing. He's been public about mental health issues in the past, so I hope he's well. But he'll never be considered truly elite until he finds some kind of consistency.

I think he's fallen out of love with the game and possibly a deal of the Utd fanbase. It's a shame as when he's on it, he's almost unplayable.
