Think the crying you claim to hear, was more a cry of anger. Anger at a chancellor who gave the richest amongst us a nice tax cut, while most of the country were having to deal with the cost of living going through the roof. 
This anger was probably compounded further on hearing the government couldn't give an explanation on how these tax cuts would be paid for.
As for the scroungers and freeloaders. I'm sure once Kwartang reneged on his tax cut, many tory MPs would have been celebrating with a glass of wine and a cigar more than they would with a fag and a tin.

I suspect she will. The higher rate tax cut accounted for only £2bn out of the total unfunded tax cuts of £45bn+. I can see the whole mini budget unravelling over the next month or so.

The danger for fans may be the formation of a European super league. The real danger will be when the owners of clubs are allowed to move their franchise to another city or country. How long would it be before we'd see the Manchester Red Devils become the Bangkok Red Devils or the Arsenal Gunners become the LA Gunners.

I await to see what positive spin the right will try to put on this climb down by Truss and Kwartang. While ignoring the damage it's caused to the country, the money spent by the Bank of England to prop up the pound, the cost to mortgage lenders.
All this extra unneeded cost at this time of hugh government borrowing.

Not sure how you'd achieve the second part but Putin is threatening to make the first part of your request a reality.

Isn't the figure being quoted based on the amount of an average family's usage? So I hope people aren't expecting to pay no more than £2500. Use more energy than an average family then be ready to get a bigger bill to pay for.

Well after listening to a government spokesman on the radio this morning.  The recent actions taken by the chancellor hasn't caused a financial crisis. The pound hasn't been tanking and the 35 billion pounds the Bank of England spent trying to stabilize it, was just a normal days business.

Those that were on the 40% tax rate, only paid that rate on any portion of their salary that goes into that higher tax band. The first forty odd thousand pounds of their salary was paid at the basic rate like everyone else.
So not sure how you come up the the 50% figure?

You keep going on about rewarding those who work hard. How do you equate who is working harder than someone else. I'm sure many workers on minimum wage work as hard as those earning ten times as much.
